Oh I came over here to rant about the bottomless brunch. I wanted to post “my husband, 4 teenage boys (all of them are 6 ft tall and play rugby 10 hours a day) with hollow legs and I share ONE starter at brunch and we are completely stuffed all day! How on earth do you eat all that?! < patronising tinkly laugh >

Just read a thread about whether a 5 bed should turn one bedroom into an extra bathroom and someone commented asking if an au pair will live on that floor.

Personally my au pair has the basement and my housekeeper has the attic.
My au pair is in the shed. The housekeeper is in a cosy little caravan at the bottom of the garden. It leaks a bit and is draughty but she LOVES living rurally. They’re both Ukrainian refugees I got off the council. #saviourcomplex #lovelyme

I set my alarm to wake up at midnight to open my present but it's a huge disappointment. My children bought me hotel Chocolat. Don't they realise this brand isn't special since mars bought it?! I feel like I've failed as a parent. I've taken some heavy duty sleeping tablets. Hopefully I'll fall asleep in 20 mins and wake up on Monday when this hell of a day will be over. 😭. Now I've got an extra task of dropping off the insulting present at the food bank. Thank you very much bleeping bleeps.

I will be starting a 'MY MOTHERS DAY IS RUINED' thread tomorrow. Not one of my three children have BOTHERED WITH ANYTHING. I'm literally shaking and sobbing.
Eldest is training to be a medic, on placement this week with three kids and is a single parent, so her EXCUSE is that she has been so busy and exhausted she didn't have time (SELFISH) middle son is off skiing and the youngest is having ISSUES AND IN THE MIDDLE OF A LEVELS (and skint).
I can't believe how AWFUL AND UNKIND AND UNGRATEFUL they are. H is injured and hasn't been able to get out so I HAVE NOTHING.

*I genuinely do not give a toss - it will be a normal Sunday and they treat me loads of other days, just wanted to be an outraged mumsnetter for a minute :D

It’s probably me. I work in an office and am a fat fuck, morbidly obese in fact, size 12/14 and 5ft 10. I’m not depressed though and I don’t smell.
You should be depressed at that size. The reason you aren't suffering severe depression due to your morbid obesity is probably because you have early onset dementia.

A and E. NOW.

I'm not Scottish but I lived in Glasgow for a while. I remembered James Herriot writing about the "balmy early springs" of Glasgow and during my first Scottish winter I decided he'd been blinded by nostalgia. But came March and it seemed he was right. Fresh but beautiful.

Was a while ago, though.

Just get a new account on a new address.
Glasgow is a few hundred miles south of me 😉 - and “ne’er cast a cloot ‘til May is out” translates roughly to “don’t trust the bastarding forecast and stick your saplings out otherwise you’ll look out the window and note they’re under 6” of snow - until June.

This photo pretty much sums up of optimism if a Scottish spring.

The horror of your child having to go to a pupil referral unit 😱, it will ruin his life and he'll definitely end up in prison or homeless!
Or, as in my sons case it could be the best thing that could have happened to him 🤷‍♀️, he went there after being expelled, for drugs, and he completely turned his life around. Been on the straight and narrow ever since, and in a very well paid respectable job. They are there to help. Her kid was dealing drugs, he's the kind of kid that would get support there, probably better than her homeschooling him anyway!

The wildest one I’ve heard is that Wills has killed Kate, but the only person who can’t be charged with a crime is the king. So Charlie has ‘cancer’ so he can abdicate, Wills can become king and then not be charged with murder.
However they told Harry when he came over and he didn’t agree so Charlie’s cancer has been downgraded until they think what do to do next.

Bonkers.
I like that one, and I'm looking forward to the Netflix series, A Royal Murder, love and intrigue at the Palace, starring Harry Styles as William (both balding rapidly), Jenna Coleman as Kate and Kerry Katona as Rose Hanbury.

At least you have a Ferrero Rocher. Do you realize some people live in places that don’t sell them? I find your comment very insensitive during this current crisis. Check your privilege!

or… a whole Ferrero Rocher? I’d be stuffed for a week if I had one of those. Have you always had a problem with portion control?

Why would you only want an extra 10-20k, surely it would be more sensible to look for jobs paying an extra 50k, more money then innit.
It came from a sweetheart who’s saved 50% of her gross income since her early-20s.

Either she lives in a shoe, OR someone else pays the bills.

Oh shut the front fucking door. I bet it’s that absolute fanny from Singapore who married a Jewish man in north London and lived with her MIL for 3 years…

My mistake - it was just cloud cuckoo land calling.

If anyone fancies a good game of Mumsnet bingo, there is a very long thread - in Weight Loss Chat of all places, about what the government should be doing about all the fat people!
That’s amazing! I’m only on page 2 but I’ve seen the advocating of health warnings on plus-sized clothes. Why stop there? Why not have “fatty fatty boom boom” written across the front rather than “live, laugh, love”? Instead of twinkling reindeer lights, we could move those to the back and attach parking sensors too.

Sushi is the same as sugar???

Fabulous, I'll have a massive slice of black forest gateau for lunch and it'll be just like rice, fish, veg and seaweed!

(How come they aren't obsessed with being size Japanese? Doesn't that tend to be slim?)

Aw I’ll give her a pass if she’s only 2 weeks postpartum, I cried at literally everything at that point. One time I felt that the cat looked at me funny and I cried because I thought she felt abandoned now the baby had come 😩 Also, not to do a classic mumsnet-one-up or anything, but my partner sent a picture of me just after giving birth to his whole family. Both of my boobs were out and you could see my legs just covered in blood, I genuinely don’t know what he was thinking!

Well I like the cut of both of your jibs. A nice robust mid slinging and exchanges of who’s the biggest cunt accusations, I’m into it.

Reminds me of my driving test when I was 39 weeks pregnant. Examiner looked a bit panicked, shortest driving test on record.
When I was pregnant with #2, and HUGE, I went for a haircut before the baby was born. The hairdresser asked when I was due. I answered truthfully: I was 10 days overdue and thought I might as well get my hair done before I went in to be induced.

No one ever has cut hair faster than that hairdresser did that day 😁
