Has anyone else seen that thread in active named "Is anyone else freaked out?" about the recent mild weather. 17 pages of MNers ripping the shit out of each other and fighting like cats in a bag..all about the bloody weather. That site is toxic beyond belief.
I was in genuine, open-mouthed, disbelief at this thread. Some intense over reactions to a slightly milder day, any reasonable poster coming in with a level head and explainations were completely ignored. They’re all insane!

In Hinckley Leics there is a outlet clothes place. Sells clothes from M&S & other retailers. I just noticed they sell Hush, the MN crew would pee their pants at the bargains to be had!

Sad thing is, the builders they look down on with contempt probably have more money than they do and that's what they equate to be anything above working class. Their husbands are also huge earners and joint incomes are ridiculous

I always want to post that while they think they are something with their huge joint incomes, their husbands all seem to be useless pricks according to them so I'd rather be working class and happy in my marriage!
I remember a thread where the OP was pretending to wring her hands over the fact she was an academic and that the plumber she 'employed' was probably awfully self-conscious about being her inferior. I LOVED the posters who scrambled to point out that he was absolutely fucking coining it compared to her and if anything he probably felt sorry for her 😂

More tone deaf class bollocks
It is. However I find it to true! Without sounding like a total dickhead, I went to school with mostly upper-middle class, upper class and even elite class (through no fault of my own, I swear 😂) and the most thrifty, even to the point of being downright scruffy were richest. My mum used to say to me she couldn't understand having all that money and not enjoying it. Then again my mum grew up frugal out of necessity which is why she couldn't get her head round it.

For them it was all about the thrill of the chase: researching new prams and getting excited that THIS one would be the one! It would fit all of their complicated criteria!

Of course the new pram never did and they would soon be on the hunt for something else. Basically they were compulsive shoppers looking for their next hit, but apparently it was OK as long as they sold a pram every time they got a new one.
I did sell one of mine to them and in RL she was quite sweet. I met a sleb.

I also bought a mountain buggy special edition after reading there. I am so sorry.

I've just read a S & B thread where a mother of the groom wanted to know if she was unreasonable to wear a particular dress for her son's wedding and the amount of posters who said the dress would be upstaging the bride, it looks too bridal despite the OP saying it's a gay wedding and there is no bride. It reminds me of why I rarely look at S & B threads.

feels like there should be some kind of forum rules for the mods to intervene on these posts. They’re egging each other on in worrying eating and exercise habits. Maybe the mods could post some links to BEAT?

They won't even post NHS guidance on chest pain on threads where the person has got symptoms of a possible heart attack and posters are telling them that it's just anxiety. They're not going to pick up on the pro-ANA posts because they form so much of their site traffic on pretty much all the boards.

You’re right, the site is so outdated isn’t it? I scroll through there and, as I rarely post, sometimes go to ‘like’ a post like you can on here but you can’t even do that. you can’t even edit a post. It’s really odd.
The only thing they have that's better than here is that the threads have the arrows to change page at the top of the threads as well as the bottom

It happens in all forums, but it always amuses me when people give advice that the OP has already mentioned in previous comments that they have tried. There's a recent thread of a poster trying to figure out who supplies her electricity and half the suggestions are things she's already confirmed she has done. This jumping straight to giving your opinion/advice seems to happen a lot on MN.

I saw that one! It was barmy! Worse were the posters who, even after OP updated saying everything was ok and she’d got the full story, were still telling her her husband was gaslighting and lying to her because she didn’t remember him saying he was going on a trip where he had to drive
I honestly think that site and its moderators must know the harm those kind of posts can do, yet they choose to let this awful train of thought develop. 😕

I can’t stand “LTB” oh right, yeah. Okay. OP should just end their marriage over something stupid that they’ll likely regret ranting about on mumsnet for.

Literally something like “DH didn’t load the dishwasher…” LTB! He’s emotionally abusing you, get out now OP

Also, the mum shaming 😲 vile site.

What was the "most mumsnetty thing" that poster did? It's been in the top 5 threads for about 3 days now. Maximum cringe level, has the OP even come back to let everyone know??
I just saw that. Apparently it was ‘bleach the skirting boards’ which I’ve never heard anyone mention before. My money was on logging something with 101 or cancelling a cheque (the bantz!).

She’s just really pleased to be a Mumsnetter, bless ‘er 😑

There is one that was really tickled me and it's nothing really. "To think I ate the prawns" One of the replies " "If the packet was swollen in anyway, or went pupfff when you opened it, you're screwed"
First world problems.

I am convinced they live in an 1800s aristocratic alternate universe who dips into our universe every now and then to post on Mumsnet. Because I’ve been to France nearly a dozen times, and I have never seen anyone using a small wooden row boat as means of transportation in the countryside.
She must have a lot of faith in her husband's rowing skills to be using a mobile phone (not known for being waterproof) in a small wooden boat. 🤣
