Nothing wrong with cereal. I used to eat weetabix in full large milk and smothered in sugar most days as a child and I was perfectly healthy and still have all my own teeth.

Anyone read the post where the OP got her dog dna tested and it’s come back as 20something% pit bull. She’s getting replies that she should put her lovely puppy down.

I don't believe anyone saying put the dog down would do it themselves.
I was suprised at how many posters just told her to plead ignorant about the pit bull in it and claim it's part Lab. These are the same people who usually get their knickers in a twist over their neighbours yappy dogs and think all dogs are evil and can't be trusted! You just know that if that dog attacked someone they'd all come down on the OP like a ton of bricks and say she should have had it put down if she'd had any inkling of its parentage!It said its got 1% dalmatian in it

Just because an Mumsnetter may have a dog as a pet, doesn’t mean they know duck all about them. DNA mixes and identifying physical features of banned breeds are subjective and largely depend on the vet’s mood when judging them for being put to sleep.
It does my swede in when mn posters write balls about “jaw locking” (myth) in fighting dogs as well as tit about shock collars and anxiety vests. Let alone the weird tit about the genetic make up of breeds and mongrels while ignoring simple stuff about reading body language - anxious or aggressive dogs aren’t subtle about projecting their discomfort.
When the facts are simply the smaller the dog, the more they nip. Big dogs can do some damage but the consistent biters seem to be the toy to small sized ”grandad dogs” like yorkshire terriers and the like.
But certain breeds are associated with the wrong classes so catnip for snobby mn posters.
Disclaimer: I wuvs staffies, dobermanns, rottweilers and alsation type dogs - they are like big, clumsy, dopey kids.

Right, we spend a fair whack on ours because .... they get it once, being kids.
We're low earning family, but we save for it.
We don't drink, smoke, have much luxury but we make holidays nice, we give them as much magic as we can.
Not for the gram, not to be a show off but because they are lovely kids, even if I say it myself.
They actually enjoy opening their gifts and playing.
We make sure they don't brag in school etc and I'm saying this like I'm spending like a loon.
I'm talking a sack of decent gifts, books, toys, games. Not saying brand new consoles and bikes etc, we're not able too, but honestly, if we could, 100% I'd do it
How can they be triggered by someone spending £150, everything is expensive these days.
Games, consoles, clothes when the kids are older are wildly bleeping pricey.
I get being skint, i was a single mum dead young and I'd work full time, then when my son was with his dad I'd do cash in hand bar work to ensure we had something extra for Christmas, or I'd do some cleaning.
I understand I was lucky to have that time free to do that and if his dad wouldn't have had him once a week I'd have only had wages, but then you make some sacrifices.
Trolls, I swear at one point in my life I had £8 a week for food and it was rit, I made sure Xmas was an occasion. And we didn't go without, we just didn't have as much.
I don't get how with a child you can say, "I have the money" but not buy them duck all besides a spinning top and yoyo.
The mums at the school yard would all talk about where had bargains, who was selling/giving stuff away or what charity shops had decent stuff in. Sell pages were full of people wanting to make space for their kids new stuff and were often very generous. Maybe because my area is poor? I live on the Wirral on a council estate. But even the pure skint homes, we chipped in and helped. I would recycle my lads Xmas pjs every year for my neighbours lad, if her lad would have been bigger than mine, she'd have handed down to me. It's just common sense?
I feel sick reading some of the comments imagining poor cosmo and prudence waking up 6 am to mother plucking the goose only to be given a card explaining santa is investing in bitcoin and they should be grateful for their new oral b toothbrush heads.
I do appreciate I've worked tho and I'm not bashing anyone who can't afford things.

I've actually seen people saying you shouldn't spend lots on your kids because it's upsetting to kids with less.
It's so stupid and clearly coming from middle class parents that have no idea what it's like to be poor. Do they think poor kids don't know they're poor. They know and you not buying your kids what they want for Xmas is not gonna make them feel any better about it.
This modern attitude that everybody needs to change their behaviour so not to upset anyone is getting out of hand. I think it's partly the white middle class being offended on people's behalf and partly people being given too much of a voice on social media.
Next we won't be able to put reindeer outfits on kids because Sandra on MN said it's offensive to Inuits.

I honestly think if these types are that concerned about poor kids then they can donate to places who deliver toys and games to kids in poverty.
They're all humble brag about doing it, but that's not necessary, most supermarkets have some kind of toy donation station.
You don't take a sack and hand deliver toys personally to the destitute ffs
I think the quicker your kid learns there's always someone out there who has more than you and to appreciate what they do have because there's always someone out there with less than you, the better!
I don't get how they can say they only spend £50 per "DC". What can you actually get for that money? I got my little girl a barbie and a board game and that was about £50. That's just two presents.
I don't actually spend masses as my kids are pre school and even if they only get one present from everyone, that's still a tit load of plastic crap in my living room. I've probably only spent 50 between them.
That two presents too many. Just sit her down on Christmas day and tell her about poor people, homeless people, orphans etc. Children these days are so spoilt, when I was a kid do you know what I got? An orange. That's it. And I had to save half for my birthday.
So many posters with eating disorders on there, trying to offload their issues on to everyone else.

There’s one where the in laws are charging to go for Christmas despite having £100,000 plus wage.
With “charging” - surely they’re just asking for that family’s share of the total bill which is going to be in the hundreds? It’s not as if they’re selling tickets via ticket master?
Surely offering to pay your share of a huge meal/several day affair is a completely normal thing to do? Or if the hosting family refuse money you buy them something they’d like roughly of the same value?
