Funny how they all just happened to need fuel that particular day. Before the first lockdown, a lot posters said they were just buying stuff - it was others who were panic buying. A lot of them were quite touchy and defensive about it, I think. I'm sure Mumsnet do encourage panic buying sometimes.

Or a strapping 6ft rugby playing teenage boy who can wolf down the full contents of the fridge on a daily basis (along with the homemade crusty bread with lashings of butter)
I love the ones who complain eg people driving to school and causing parking problems and they only live five minutes away and could easily walk, there’s always one who comes on to say ‘well excuse mefor driving to school and annoying you, but I have no legs, what do yiu suggest I do?’ Now obviously, that’s entirely different, but they do it every time, does it really need pointed out that they don’t mean them?
No one thinks they are panic buying though. Everyone has a reason. Even the tossers filling up multiple jerry cans think they have a good reason.
I saw a woman on MN claim that she needed to fill up because she was going to see relatives that live a long way away. It hasn't occurred to her to stay home and let the people that needed fuel for essential trips have it.

Just had a mooch on MN for the first time in years as I'm trying to adopt next year after losing a baby this year, I can't put myself through the fear of another pregancy and I don't really want to start discussing this with mates yet as they're probably going to be quite negative about it.
Anyway what a bleeping cesspit of transphobic bleeps with literally nothing but stupid bleeping opinions.

Unless she gave the reason for going to see the relatives then you can't really say whether it was essential or not.
Our car was pretty full but I topped it up on Friday because today I drove a 240 mile round trip to my sons house and tomorrow my husband will drive a 150 mile round trip where we will see other relatives.
Without any reason I'm sure it sounds pretty selfish I'm sure, however tomorrow is the funeral of a very close family relative, unless I fetched him my son had no other way of attending.
The professionally offended are the main base of mumsnet subscribers. I swear they have their own buzzwords set up ready to pounce!
Why are they so obsessed with trans/M&S changing rooms and drag queens on the feminism boards? Surely there's loads of more pressing issues to attend to than the one in a million chance of of being sexually harassed by a drag queen in the M&S changing room?

This made me actually lol. It’s so true.
We’re meant to go halfway across the country in a few days with a one year old for a wedding and I think we’re going to have to seriously consider if it’s worth all this risk. I don’t think we’ll get fuel unless husband is willing to wake up at 5 and queue for hours, and even then £30 worth won’t get us far.
I don’t understand this either. The transphobia is off the scale there.
I got petrol Saturday, drove to the petrol station, it was busy, but not queuing out onto the road, filled up no problem
I read about the one who filled up her car, her husband's car and her two children's cars (they were at university so wouldn't be needing them)

I read a thread where they were all trying to outdo each other on just how inconvenienced they would be by not having any fuel. If one would have to walk 3 miles to the nearest station, take a 1.5 hour train journey then 5 stops on the bus, another would have to take their 2 disabled kids on 3 separate trains with a 30 minute uphill walk at either end to get them to school, then have to get a bus for 45 minutes in the other direction to work, where they would arrive 2 hours late
then leave work 2 hours early to do it all in reverse! Why do they always live rurally, and why do their kids always go to school miles away?
I read and enjoy lot of different forums, including here and Mumsnet, and I think if you think they are all that different you are kidding yourself. 
For example, the petrol post above. I stopped reading the Kate Lawler thread on Tattle because it was literally just post after post from posters trying to out do each other about how bad their postnatal depression/sleep deprivation/breastfeeding difficulties were. I think it's just how it goes on forums sometimes.
