Company’s are talking about removing London weight from those working from home
Those companies are trash and will only attract trash as a result. Although saying that I know not every discipline is the same and for employees with less bargaining power (so younger, or more junior, or “less skilled”) they’ll be disadvantaged by this, I know of people working admin/PA roles in big legacy dinosaur companies who’ve been forced back into the office 5 days a week & had requests to go part time refused & have been threatened with the “well if you want London salaries…!” balls. The job market isn’t the same for them so they’ll be forced to comply for lack of other options - so will take home less of their salaries for commuting, less leisure time, potentially higher childcare fees, etc etc which yet again exacerbates inequalities.Company’s are talking about removing London weight from those working from home
I used to post in the bereavement & mental health forums- always had supportive responses. It was larger though so felt more anonymous. On another forum I'm on I got to know the people better because it was just the same 10 posting daily and you could feel like you knew them better. Here I've noticed something similar- different topics same posters.Tattle is much nicer than Mumsnet. The atmosphere is far nicer and it’s less as someone said “Mean girls”
They really, really don’t and I say this as someone who would LOVE for them to. Like if I’d even gotten a scrap of goodness from one I’d be singing its praises, but they’re truly dire.Do these tinder for mums apps ever really work? There's so many of them and I guess they work on being annoying unless you give another monthly subscription to them?
Where can I find the lunchbox threads? I need a laughThe thing with the lunchbox threads is they often suggest stuff like pasta in a flask. Do they even have any idea of how much of a faff that is for kids and staff?
Smug parents that think theyre better than you because they don't want a night out.@Brigitjonesbuttcheek It was the same on Babycentre with the holidaying without your kids thingeven if you dared to have the odd night out, someone would pipe up with “well I would rather spend my Saturday evening cuddling my kids watching tv”
Honestly i think it’s pure jealousy. I can’t wait for a child free holiday one day![]()
Those threads are so boring. And unless it’s a life size cardboard cut out of Pat Butcher, I’m not flippin’ interested. It’ll be something incredibly mundane, because it always is.Did the OP come back to that thread to let us know what she ordered online on Saturday night? It's in active currently and can't be bothered scrolling through it

I had similar. Posted a story that admittedly sounded ridiculous, but I was genuine and it ruined my life. They called troll, absolutely hounded me and I got my thread deleted in the end.Hi, just found this thread.
I joined MN when I had my first in 2017 and loved it. But over time it just got pointless. Every thread a repeat, or you get invested only for it to be deleted because its a troll, or the op doesn't want to continue, or its "not in the spirit".
I also found that eventually I felt there was no point in posting, if you don't post in the same way as everyone else then you get jumped on.
The constant blue badge Vs mother and baby spaces did my head in . Only on MN have I heard people believe that mother and baby spaces are for people with disabilities that can't get a blue badge, so mother's shouldn't use them or be annoyed when clearly healthy people are using them. I had a blue badge and a baby so always got drawn in but there is no point in engaging unless you agree with that nonsense.
I'm also a step mum so got interested in the stepmum threads. It's some other kinda mental over there, I got called evil and a wicked step mum because I couldn't see anything wrong with not taking the step child on holiday. Apparently if you can't afford to go in term time with step child, then you're not allowed to go. Even though I go on holiday without my own children!
As time went on I posted less and less, then at a really dark time in my life I posted a really personal problem asking for help and was reported for being a troll, and banned. With no email no message nothing, just banned for asking for help for my real problem that I couldn't talk to people in real life for.
So it's pretty much a pointless site IMHO and just the same delusional nutters posting on threads made up by mn staff and trolls.
There are just so many trolls and so many people troll hunting, that any situation slightly out of the norm is shut down. The thing I posted (I'm not gonna go into it as it's over now) was pretty unusual. But not unbelievable and I wasn't asking for money or anything, really just an ear and some reassurance.I had similar. And to add, I've see so many clearly made up threads that stand. Which makes me think there is some sort of agenda. The thing I posted about was a very sensitive topic. Where as if you make up tit about peeping neighbours or weird bedroom habits, your thread can stay because it gets the right sort of attention. There are just so many trolls and so many people troll hunting, that any situation slightly out of the norm is shut down. Digital spy is the sameWas just reading a post about katie price/Carl woods. Asking the valid question if they are both saying he didn’t hit her, then who did. Someone jumped on there telling the op it wasn’t “kind” to talk about it and then a few mins later, a mod pops on to say it’s being removed for being “too speculative” ! ffs, katie price literally sold the story two days after the incident to a tabloid, and has done at least one more story on it since then! As well as overseeing every detail of her life generally. Yet we are all meant to sit in silence according to mumsnet and not discuss itwhy a load of grown women (and a few men) continue to let some power hungry uprights control what they discuss is beyond me.
