They are always ‘proudly working class’ or solid middle class. Although I did spot one gem who said she was titled upper class the other day. I was desperate for the Labrador and battered Volvo gang to come by for that. I think she mentioned multiple drives just to make sure we knew.

Our local Home Bargains is frequented by the local landed gentry buying loads of bog roll and dog treats because they live in houses with many bathrooms and labradors. Also stocking up on jars of artichoke hearts because they're half the price of the ones in the deli. The upper classes hate to part with money
Home Bargains absolutely isn't where poor people shop. Not in this neck of the (well-heeled) woods anyway. I bulk-buy white bamboo washcloths there and Corsydol toothpaste. You're letting your social insecurities show.

We live in the lodge at the end of the drive.
We have real Christmas trees because we like them, a mixture of coloured and warm white lights on the trees. White lights on the trees lining the drives.
Baubles unfortunately were a job lot in ikea a few years ago
