Mumsnetters go on about how liberal and well-educated, open and tolerant they are but as soon as something doesn't go their way - Leave winning, Tories getting in etc they become very nasty and resort to calling people uneducated and thick even going as far as wanting intelligence tests before people vote.

I remember the Tories getting in 2015 and tons of posters were posting that they were sat sobbing. Those who voted leave weren't even allowed one thread to celebrate on because the remain voters kept jumping on to berate them further. I think Mn did lose a lot of posters because of it.

One leave voter years later very eloquently wrote about why she voted the way she did and was torn to strips, one delightful poster even going as far as to say that she was a bad parent for voting Leave. It became a bun fight and the thread got deleted.

Mumsnetters don't like to hear opposing views to their own despite being liberal and tolerant and have a mindset of "Democracy is fine, as long as it's my choice"

Yes I think they are a very small and vocal demographic of women who are quite priveleged and entitled. There are so many competitive threads- competitive parenting, competitive eating, competitive frugality, competitive wealth it's ridiculous and exhausting. I stopped using Mumsnet a couple of years ago. I cant remember what finally broke the camels back but it was just the same things over and over again.

The irony is Tattle is always mentioned on there as being a ‘nasty’ website full of nasty people, but everyone on here seems far less vicious than the #be kind crew on Mumsnet…

i think it’s because here we have a collective understanding and are united in critiquing class A mats. On there its all about ego, humble brags and trying to BE the biggest twit. You know where you stand here. On there it’s a vipers nest.

Over the last few weeks there have been lots of thinly veiled snooty threads about having to slum it whilst holidaying in the UK. One woman started a thread genuinely stating that people who snore shouldn’t be allowed to go camping because she’d been disturbed by someone in the next tent snoring and there was one whinging about another family who’d dared to drive back to their tent ‘late at night‘ with their lights on ’waking everyone up’ (maybe they’d have preferred these other people to have done so without the lights on potentially driving into other tents and killing and maiming people?) They then had the audacity to sit out their tents and chat at the ungodly hour of 10.30pm whilst they were on holiday. There were so many comments about how campsites in France are much better because everything is more spaced out and you don’t get as much noise, but for so many people in the U.K. who can’t afford to holiday in exotic location or even on a campite in France this is the only holiday they get and seeing these stuck up hags belittling it really annoyed me!

There’s one on there now asking AIBU to book another holiday after our other disappointing holiday. Mentioning countries they might go to because the previous one was just soo stressful… more like “look at me I can afford two holidays in the height of a pandemic”

I don't believe most of the threads on there. If I was on a romantic date or on holiday with friends or in A & E, the last thing I'd be doing is updating random strangers. But I think some posters encourage the trolls further by adding shamelessly placemarking and begging for updates.

Definitely a lot of keyboard warriors on there who wouldn't be so bold in RL.

I still go and lurk over there, even though I hate it! There are so many posters I can’t stand too, the most prolific ones are probably locked up somewhere because there’s no way they have high profile jobs and spend all day on mumsnet!

Just to add to the amount of trolls on there - you can’t get any info on a poster without paying their subscription!

That's pretty bad! No wonder it's an awful community. They probably charge £5 a month for basic things as seeing poster history makes it so obvious how troll heavy it is and they don't want their sponsors or members seeing it.

Without all the bull fantasist threads and people being nasty to other posters for fun there's not much left there.

We've had fantasist posters (why did it take weeks for anyone to report that poster that claimed to have shagged so many of Hollywood's a Listers ?!) but the level on Mumsnet is out of control.

As is the insults at posters and petty tit like correcting someone's grammar or saying they sound stupid. Got no time for that nastyness on tattle.

Did anyone see the AIBU this week about the “wheelie bin princesses” a woman moaning about watching the husbands bring the wheelie bins in rather than the women thinking she was a lot better because she bought her own bin in. Referring to things as “pink jobs” and “blue jobs” pfft. The responses on it were great to be fair but so pathetic.

I found mumsnet when I became pregnant which I suspect a lot of women do! I quickly left after so much judgement and jumping on women for being “too anxious” in their pregnancies, and don’t get me started on whenever someone posts about bottle feeding I frequently visit the pregnancy advice threads here and they have been nothing but supporting and useful!
