I think name changing is a big part of the issue they have on there with trolls etc.

I also think - and this might not be any use - if they made an effort to move threads into proper categories, gawd knows there's enough categories, it might help discourage the trolling and pile ons.

Lumping everything into AIBU just encourages the trolls, pervs and bleeps who seem to wait in the long grass.

I’m not sure Crumbs did get banned? She just namechanged, as far as I’m aware. The annoying thing about Crumbs was that it was completely bleeping obvious she was a fantasist, but no one was allowed to call her out or question her stories. I don’t know why she was so protected on MN. That thread where she posted a photo of her ‘bedroom’ that was actually a hotel room got pulled (I think) because everyone clocked it. Same as the one where she posted her ridiculous Christmas present list. There was a great thread on the Reddit sub where someone had gone through all her posts that were still standing though. Her fantasy life was off the charts.

I miss her. I used to love her posts as they were so ridiculous. She’s been gone this time since early December. The thing is, in all her four incarnations she is so easily recognised that she might as well still call herself Crumbs.

Yeah I agree, the weird reliance some people have on answering a simple question by committee/internet forum opens up the abuse.

we have threads on advice here but the way it’s structured means you might get one or two responses then the thread moves on quite quickly.

Plus I think the lack of ability to upvote means everyone is tempted to give their penny’s worth when it’s not really required. Which I think is a key annoyance for me when i

According to mumsnet theory you know plenty of people with undetectable facial fillers and botox, it’s just so well done you can’t tell . Only badly done stuff is

hate to break it to them but you absolutely can tell, especially when you rely on lip movement and mouth shape to interpret their words.

You can absolutely tell. I play spot the lip filler on the school run these days.

MN women are so smug and think everyone has terrible filler apart from them, but you can always tell! Lips are supposed to have a slight natural wrinkle, but filler lips look oddly smooth, and suspiciously rubbery when they move. And it always starts migrating up towards the nose.

That 'Annoying Mumsnet Phrases' thread in Chat is doing my head in. As other posters have pointed out, a good chunk of them are just common phrases and not unique to Mumsnet. Do these people not talk to anyone outside of Mumsnet?

No, I don't think they do. They spend the best part of every day chatting tit online about their fabulous fake lives, their slender petite figures, their hard working high earning husbands, their gifted and talented children, their dreadful neighbours and relatives, their expensive tastes in fashion and so on. They get their shopping delivered so they don't even have any normal conversation about the weather with the checkout assistant.

There is nothing in this world that would convince me that posting a picture of my fan on MN, or anywhere on the internet, was a good idea.

But… why do these graphic photo posters always have such high quality cameras? If I tried to get a pic of my bits it would definitely be blurry and much lower quality. Theirs are always such HQ you can almost see individual cells. Must be trolls and pervs. Who is getting their kicks from women talking about cysts on their bits and piles tho?!
