She made it seem like the only reason they lived in Virginia was because of Kyle’s work and that when they moved they’d be near friends and family and she’d have her ‘village’. Now they’ve moved and apart from leaving the kids with Kyle's parents a couple of times she doesn’t seem to have any support. I can’t see it being much different when they move to the uk either, her mother doesn’t seem to be helping out a whole pile on this visit. Has she even made her a home-cooked meal? That’s what most people miss most about home, not a random pub meal.
Also I know from my friend group we always make a special effort to meet our friend from the States when she’s home, we go for a night out or 2 and meet for coffees, she thinks she’s missing out but we always tell her we often go 2-3 months without all meeting up, I’d expect that’s the same for a lot of people with kids/jobs etc. Plus when she lives here she’ll have 3 kids in tow, that makes things a lot more difficult.
She just strikes me as someone who’ll never be happy, I feel bad for Kyle because he seems to just go along with everything she wants but when she’s back in the UK and her friends are busy or else just don’t want every interaction recorded and plastered all over Insta and TikTok I wonder how she’ll cope.
