It’s odd because the only family she’s ever mentioned are her mum, her sister and the dad she seems to hate. She’s obviously fallen out with her sister so she doesn’t get mentioned anymore and then she’s always said that her mum isn’t a hands on grandparent so who exactly is this family that she misses so much?!

Where she wants to move to in the uk (where her mum lives), she’ll only be able to walk to the shops all the time if she can afford to rent somewhere near the high street, which surprise surprise the house prices are extortionate. The surrounding areas to the high street don’t have many options for convenient shops beyond petrol stations. I use Amazon for everything despite being able to walk/drive to shops nearby.
There are no toll roads or charges near me. We do have a tunnel you need to pay for though. I think the only toll road I can think of is the M6? but there's some bridges and tunnels you've got to pay for as well.
We also have some areas that you pay a congestion charge for taking your car in/through though.
Dartford crossing toll, we have some tolls in Liverpool, we have M6 toll and we have congestion charges.

There’s no easy way to avoid it put it that way
Basically, she’s wrong but probably just from her own ignorance than deliberately lying I guess.
To get into south wales there used to be a toll bridge, you could avoid it but it added a fair bit of time to the journey. Luckily the toll was scrapped a few years ago
