Morning sickness

No ginger, bands, sweets, medication worked for me but it did get better around 17 weeks.
I would say if something gives you aversion, don't perceiver, stop doing/eating/smelling it etc. The most I could do was remove/avoid triggers but in fact that probably cut it by 1/4. I had to keep my hair tied in a bun and change my shampoo 4 times because the smell of hair made me vomit as did the smell of shampoo 🤦‍♀️ but I got there with removing that trigger for instance.

Actually being sick still won’t help. I was constantly gagging but actually chucked after some ginger biscuits. Horrid. Travel sickness bands and nectarines only thing that got me through the day. I was recommended tablets but didn’t feel comfortable taking things while pregnant

No 😭 couldn't face dinner again but got an absolute hankering for ambrosia rice so I'm going to see if I can at least eat that 🙄 not sure how I'm going to get through work this week 🤢 (haven't told anyone as I'm only 6 weeks too)
I actually have found myself feeling better at work when I’m busy. Although mine is generally worse in the late afternoon and evenings, so that’s possibly part of it too. I know it seems insurmountable, some days I don’t know how I will keep going, but you will get through, one day at a time. Even tonight reading my son bedtime stories I thought "I haven’t the energy to keep reading, I feel too awful" because it saps the life out of you. But of course you manage it.

and it’s ok to have a wee breakdown and cry about it as well. A wee session of feeling sorry for yourself is just fine. Doesn’t mean you are any less grateful for your pregnancy, but it’s so bleeping hard constantly being unwell.

I also agree with what @littlepup just said above. I found a non scented cleaning spray to use as all the others were making me heave, my husband does all things with the dishwasher as I can’t face the smell (weirdly its the smell of the tablets and the smell they leave behind). So if you can rid of a few things that make it worse, definitely do.

Oh god 17 weeks is so far away 😂😭😂

I've got the travel bands ordered, figured I will try anything at this point. I've not even taken paracetamol since I found out I was pregnant so I get where your coming from about taking tablets! But I think if it's get worse I might need to 🙈

Yeah it probably doesn't help I've come off a nighshift this week so my sleeping pattern is out of whack as it is 😂 I've got some ice lollies so will give them a try too!
Oh I so hope it does ease off 🤞 the people that know have all said "oh it's a good thing to have sickness and nausea" but I really don't feel it at the minute 😂
I understand completely! All i’v ever wanted is to be pregnant and I’m so happy! But this morning sickness is something else! I hate moaning about it but it can be so miserable. I feel like Iv got a new best friend - the toilet seat! 🙈🙈🙈
The ice lollies have helped as I can’t face much food, but it seems to keep it at bay for a few mins. Someone mentioned Haribo fang tastics and oddly enough Iv been having them! But I don’t like the feel of all the sugar on my teeth, but I have to say they do work!
Yeh I reckon the sleeping patterns won’t help hun with you being tired.

I was hospitalised twice, but it stopped as soon as I had him! I did get pregnant straight away so I could get it out the way and had no sickness at all second time!

Sorry to hear you are so unwell, but glad to hear a little update on your pregnancy after the initial finding out a few weeks ago on another thread. I hope your sickness passes ASAP. I like fizzy strawberry sweets, and a water flosser to help me feel like my teeth aren’t rotting afterwards (although it often make me heave and retch too 🙄)

My gums are in tatters. 8 years of non stop pregnancy and breastfeeding (or both at the same time) has destroyed them. I can’t use normal floss, I can’t seem to bend myself right 🤣 so the water flosser has been fab and I really notice the difference.

I found haribos tangfastics really helped me. The sour sweets used to take the feeling away for a bit. Sleep like others have said really made a difference too. I hope it eases for you soon.
These were my holy grail 😍 I had horrendous hyperemesis, I used to lay still in bed and suck them until the sour taste was gone and spit the actual jelly bit out 😂

The dreaded nausea, I had no idea it could be so bad. I hope you don't have it too long.
Stemetil was the only thing that actually helped & a tangerine was all I could stomach. I was bed bound with it for 7 weeks. Hope you feel better.

I'm 17 weeks and have suffered nausea and sickness since week 5. I've had absolutely zero appetite since then and have lost a bit of weight. I was sick up to 4-5 times per day up until week 12, now it's about 1-2 times per day. I'm really tired of it and just want to enjoy food again!

The ginger biscuit recommendation is the worst, they're rank and do nothing. 😂

It's nice to see that a few of us are at similar points of pregnancy on here despite us all feeling crappy!

Oh poor you that sounds brutal 🙈 I've had to call in sick to work today because I just couldnt move from the toilet, despite not being sick just dry heaving 🙃 got zero energy cos I have no appetite either.

This is a much wanted baby and I don't want to moan about it,and I should be grateful after a couple of losses, but wow it's hard 😂

Salty crisps worked for me. I didn’t have morning sickness I just seemed to vomit all my food up every meal! The doc gave me some tablets I’ve totally forgotten the name (sorry!) but they helped a little. One of the most annoying things to hear but honestly it’s all worth it! X

It’s totally ok to moan. You can still love and want your baby, and also very much not want to be sick all the time! It’s mentally and physically draining. I will say that in my last pregnancy (my 3rd) it took me 20+ weeks to even feel a glimmer of excitement because I just felt so horrendous.

This 4th pregnancy is definitely my last though. I couldn’t do this constant sickness again, it’s too much 😫

Ah bless you, it is rubbish!

I haven't told my work yet, I can't be bothered with any fuss and I'm quite anxious with it being my first and worried about anything going wrong, but work has definitely been a struggle. Thank god I'm working from home, I do have to keep a sick bucket next to me during Zoom calls though!

From week 4 when I realised I was pregnant, I started taking Pregnacare vits, but I think those absolutely destroyed me and made me feel so ill. I've read that sometimes they can make you feel sick, so I stopped and have been testing different brands. The ones I'm currently taking from Nature's Best seem to be working better for me.

My midwife told me at 12 weeks that the multivitamins do often make feel sick. Apparently the very high levels of some of the vitamins (I have conveniently forgotten which ones 🙄 maybe zinc and magnesium?) can often contribute to sickness.

Hope everyone’s ok today.
I’m on a short fuse with other humans this week. My sickness comes and goes like the weather. One day I’ll be fine and the next I’ll be suffering so bad I can’t walk.

This week the comments I’ve had are
“Oh, but you were fine yesterday?!” (In such a tone that makes me sound like I am faking it, yeah right!)
And
“But you’re in the second trimester now, it’s not supposed to last this long youre soooo unlucky”

😡😡

I've been off work all week with it but I've had one or two days when I've felt okay and I'm being so para I'm going to have a MC (already had one so it's constantly in the back of my mind) so that actually gives me a bit a reassurance that it's semi normal, even though I'm only first trimester.

People are arses and sorry you're having to go through that 👎
