I'm 17 weeks and have suffered nausea and sickness since week 5. I've had absolutely zero appetite since then and have lost a bit of weight. I was sick up to 4-5 times per day up until week 12, now it's about 1-2 times per day. I'm really tired of it and just want to enjoy food again!

The ginger biscuit recommendation is the worst, they're rank and do nothing. 😂

It's nice to see that a few of us are at similar points of pregnancy on here despite us all feeling crappy!

No wonder I've been feeling so shit, it's twins 🙈 only one heartbeat at the minute though so it could go either way, back for another scan a week today

No ginger, bands, sweets, medication worked for me but it did get better around 17 weeks.
I would say if something gives you aversion, don't perceiver, stop doing/eating/smelling it etc. The most I could do was remove/avoid triggers but in fact that probably cut it by 1/4. I had to keep my hair tied in a bun and change my shampoo 4 times because the smell of hair made me vomit as did the smell of shampoo 🤦‍♀️ but I got there with removing that trigger for instance.

Congratulations!!! ❤

This weekend is the first weekend since 5 weeks (I'm now 18 weeks today) that I've felt semi normal and had bit of an appetite back! It's also been 1 week since I've vomited. I hope it will last! 😬

Hope everyone’s ok today.
I’m on a short fuse with other humans this week. My sickness comes and goes like the weather. One day I’ll be fine and the next I’ll be suffering so bad I can’t walk.

This week the comments I’ve had are
“Oh, but you were fine yesterday?!” (In such a tone that makes me sound like I am faking it, yeah right!)
And
“But you’re in the second trimester now, it’s not supposed to last this long youre soooo unlucky”

😡😡

I feel for you.

I am also suffering SO bad. I’ve been in hospital twice and they told me I have HG.

Its fucking grim. And I have a 24/7 taste in my mouth that tastes like a hamster has done a poo in there. No amount of mouth washing, sipping water gets rid of this taste

My nausea is from the second I wake up in the morning and I’ve lost over a stone.

For me, sea sick bands did sod all, as did the anti sickness pills so I stopped taking them. And (could be hormonal), but I am ready to slap the next person who says “have a ginger biscuit they help!”, nah Karen they don’t!😂😡

Hang in there we’ve got this xx

Yeah it probably doesn't help I've come off a nighshift this week so my sleeping pattern is out of whack as it is 😂 I've got some ice lollies so will give them a try too!
Oh I so hope it does ease off 🤞 the people that know have all said "oh it's a good thing to have sickness and nausea" but I really don't feel it at the minute 😂
I understand completely! All i’v ever wanted is to be pregnant and I’m so happy! But this morning sickness is something else! I hate moaning about it but it can be so miserable. I feel like Iv got a new best friend - the toilet seat! 🙈🙈🙈
The ice lollies have helped as I can’t face much food, but it seems to keep it at bay for a few mins. Someone mentioned Haribo fang tastics and oddly enough Iv been having them! But I don’t like the feel of all the sugar on my teeth, but I have to say they do work!
Yeh I reckon the sleeping patterns won’t help hun with you being tired.

I found haribos tangfastics really helped me. The sour sweets used to take the feeling away for a bit. Sleep like others have said really made a difference too. I hope it eases for you soon.

These were my holy grail 😍 I had horrendous hyperemesis, I used to lay still in bed and suck them until the sour taste was gone and spit the actual jelly bit out 😂

Oh poor you that sounds brutal 🙈 I've had to call in sick to work today because I just couldnt move from the toilet, despite not being sick just dry heaving 🙃 got zero energy cos I have no appetite either.

This is a much wanted baby and I don't want to moan about it,and I should be grateful after a couple of losses, but wow it's hard 😂

See a doctor and don’t let them fob you off, the nausea can be as debilitating as actual vomiting. All of the usual remedies, ginger, travel bands etc didn’t work for me but medication did (I was prescribed cyclezine). Try and get as much sleep as you can and stay hydrated to the best that you can.

I think it’s today’s news that has terrified me! I just can’t stop thinking what if anything like thar happens to me? Just feel so anxious x
It’s so hard not to worry, I think it’s worse just now too as there’s no classes or support available. Especially as it’s a first baby you're just kinda left to get on with it x

It’s totally ok to moan. You can still love and want your baby, and also very much not want to be sick all the time! It’s mentally and physically draining. I will say that in my last pregnancy (my 3rd) it took me 20+ weeks to even feel a glimmer of excitement because I just felt so horrendous.

This 4th pregnancy is definitely my last though. I couldn’t do this constant sickness again, it’s too much 😫

No 😭 couldn't face dinner again but got an absolute hankering for ambrosia rice so I'm going to see if I can at least eat that 🙄 not sure how I'm going to get through work this week 🤢 (haven't told anyone as I'm only 6 weeks too)
I actually have found myself feeling better at work when I’m busy. Although mine is generally worse in the late afternoon and evenings, so that’s possibly part of it too. I know it seems insurmountable, some days I don’t know how I will keep going, but you will get through, one day at a time. Even tonight reading my son bedtime stories I thought "I haven’t the energy to keep reading, I feel too awful" because it saps the life out of you. But of course you manage it.

and it’s ok to have a wee breakdown and cry about it as well. A wee session of feeling sorry for yourself is just fine. Doesn’t mean you are any less grateful for your pregnancy, but it’s so fucking hard constantly being unwell.

I also agree with what @littlepup just said above. I found a non scented cleaning spray to use as all the others were making me heave, my husband does all things with the dishwasher as I can’t face the smell (weirdly its the smell of the tablets and the smell they leave behind). So if you can rid of a few things that make it worse, definitely do.

My midwife told me at 12 weeks that the multivitamins do often make feel sick. Apparently the very high levels of some of the vitamins (I have conveniently forgotten which ones 🙄 maybe zinc and magnesium?) can often contribute to sickness.
I experience the same thing taking the Pregnacare ones 🤢🤢

I'm sure everything will be fine at the scan and *hopefully* by the time we give birth things will be better. 💖

I'm worried about my partner not being allowed in the second scan on the 30th as I got a later ages ago, but I'll bring him along anyway! If people are allowed to go shopping and go to gyms, then it's absolutely outrageous not to have a partner at your scans.

I would love to see a general pregnancy thread on here just so we can all whinge and talk about everything and anything. I hate making threads though in case I mess up, so if anyone wants to!! 😂
I'll make one shortly 👍

Try the sea sickness pressure bands you get from the chemist that you wear around your wrists. Instead of ginger biscuits could you try candied ginger/crystallised ginger?

I know we’ve been asking about morning sickness on this thread but Iv been watching about the maternity services on the news- and the shocking stories that some parents have reported and it’s just making me really scared about my pregnancy! I’m already so anxious as i haven’t had my first scan yet, it’s on the 23rf. I don’t really know why I’m coming on here to say this but I just feel like a big ball of anxiety today! It’s my first pregnancy and I’m just feeling really nervous with it all today.

I suffered with hg and was in and out of hospital the whole 9 months. I was on 3 different types of anti sickness which barely helped. On my very rare days where is could stomach eating I could only eat wholewheat hoops (cearal) green apples and tinned peach’s from the Tesco value range. I tired seabands and preggie pops where great too (unfortunately they don’t sell them in this country and I had to order them from America, but they were worth it, as all the sour sweets over here just made me vomit as they were to strong)

Wishing you all the best, it might seem that there is no little at the end of the tunnel but it will all be worth it in the end x
