I am a big fan of Fairground and Sunrise
I loved Stars. I'm showing my age here but my family used to use the Britannia Mail Order site where you got 5 full albums for £1 when you first joined. I first heard the song in the film Jack and Sarah starring Richard E Grant & Samantha Mathis and my mum liked For Your Babies so we got the tape from Britannia in the deal as it was cheaper than buying the two singles seperately.

I’m a huge fan, seen them in concert about a dozen times?

He is a Huge labour supporter so I was interested in the 90’s when Blair got in how Mick would take to that in his songwriting….. he said less politically in their songs when labour were in power! Except to be angry at the debt people were getting in.

He almost lost his mind over brexit, posting daily ranty posts. it was a post where he said we wouldn’t have enough food or medicine where I simply said 'stop scaremongering' - and he blocked me. 🤣 nobody was running out of food or medicine in a civilised society - and no it has never happened before anyone tries to say it did. The coolest culture post was bizarre.

Years ago I did business with someone who bumped into him occasionally through showbiz circles, they said he was always one or the other - either a sweetheart or a complete c*nt at events. 😂

He was gorgeous in his dreadlock days. i managed to get a poster from our local record shop back in the day, I think it advertised ‘it’s only love' which I still treasure. They are definitely the best band to do a cover version. That and sunrise are my favourite songs.

I very much enjoyed reading this but can’t believe he blocked you 😭😂 Ffs MICK.

I also agree in the dreadlock days he was an underrated style icon. The cosmic Sheriff's badges, the bedazzled 90s waistcoats, the bold printed kimonos, the lion's mane flowing wild and free!

Apparently he is very partial to a corned beef and salad sandwich.

Just saw him on the one show he looks like a melted candle was shocked
a friend of mine said he looks like he's been held face first over a bonfire

I thought his music was a bit uncool when he first appeared on the scene (apart from stars) but now I'm ahem, older I enjoy it :D

One of my Aunties was a huge Simply Red fan and would see them in concert etc. My Uncle couldn’t understand why she liked them/him so much, and I can remember him ranting that Mick was the ‘ugliest bugger I’ve ever seen in my life’. I can’t say I disagree with him 😂

When this thread popped up on the homepage my first thought was "Oh Mick Hucknall died :("

When I opened it and read it my second thought was this joke:

What's the difference between rhinos and Simply Red?
the rhinos has the horns in the front and the hole at the back.

Sorry Mick, but congrats on not being dead.

Mick Hucknall the guy who's hair Martine McCutcheon puked on. 🤣
He seems to get the hump whenever anyone mentions it but I don't blame the guy as she wouldn't shut up about it for years and now we know it was BS it's even funnier.

Food supplies aren't exactly great in this country - and would be even worse if the UK kept up their side of the Brexit agreement and checked imports. Just saying. Good for him ranting about it when you had the likes of idiots like Roger Daltrey saying it was great.

Mick's also said several times over the years how Martine's tale about throwing up in his hair is bollocks. He even reiterated this recently...

I know there was a lead single off one of his albums (not one of the really big ones) where he made some very minor changes to a song he'd heard and nabbed a substantial writing credit for it. Not exactly on the Beyonce level of taking credit but not particularly "socialist" of him...

I love Simply Red, went to see them twice last year, and they were superb. Love the 'Stars' album. Mick looks like a little old lady these days.

Is this a euphemism for something :censored:
absolutely not I have it on good authority that this is simply his preferred sandwich combination 🥪
I wonder if he can recommend a nice red to have with it considering all he seems to do these days is review wines on instagram.
