XI always used to say the same about Carol and Jess, controlling and just wanted him to themselves so they treated poor Lauren like dirt. I’ve got a mother in law the same but she didn’t show her true colours until I married her son. She then would send letters telling him to chose me or her, want days out with just her, hubby and the kids and I wasn’t allowed to come and she would ring every Christmas saying she would kill herself if he didn’t spend it with her. She used to send cards at Christmas to the kids and a wonderful son, leaving me out. She would write nasty things on my Facebook photos. Once I got a new car and she wrote ‘another rope around my sons neck I see ‘.. She used to say I was lazy not working despite having 3 children under 3.5 years, her son often worked away, I worked my stones off. After my Nan died she told me to get a job in a funeral place advertising for a secretary when she could see how much I was grieving without my Nan. Hubby never used to say boo to her. The last time I saw her she threatened to rip my throat out and that was it, I left my husband for 2 months as he never stood up to her. After a decade I’d had enough. He begged me to come back, then he finally stood up to his mum about how he treated me, so she cut him off and the kids, Our marriage now is wonderful and I hate to say that. Having a mother in law like that, and like Carol puts a huge strain on your marriage and a son doesn’t usually go against his mum. I really feel for what they did to Lauren and good on Mark for standing up to them.
Sorry I offloaded that but omg they annoy the hell out of me and mother in laws can be complete nightmares.
Perhaps Michelle said no as she doesnt want her image tarnished as Towie will probably cover it in the return of the original cast..That seems odd then, you’re right x

Also how she had to move to Essex for his family. How about her family? Why are they less important?Mark Wright doesn’t follow Luke on Instagram? Why not? Surely a man that’s friends with his wife who spent a lot of time with her over multiple seasons filming he would follow? Also, Michelle doesn’t like many of his posts? If you watched towie from the start he was not a nice guy. Genuinely vile to all the women he went back and forth between. Sam...Lucy...Lauren... cheating on them all and thinking he was the most important man in Essex. It’s cringeworthy to watch. Come back to bite him in the arse this one...
Weird as he made her move to Essex and leave her family. His clearly are more important!!!When mark lived in Hollywood he claimed Michelle would never move or work there because she wants to be close to family.
Obviously she was in south africa at the time. I wonder if she used that as an excuse to stay home close to Luke or if in truth Mark didn't want her stealing the spotlight out there.

There is a divide with the North and South of England though isn’t there? The South is posher, and has better weather lol, and the North has more people that are down to earth, or this is what I hear, I am Scottish and my cousins live in West Sussex and I absolutely love going down there, it’s a world away from Edinburgh and the money down there! It was a bloody awful time. It went in for over a decade where he didn’t stand up to her. She then kept trying to come back into our family but it just didn’t work. When she used to visit she wouldnt look at me, we would all be sat in our living room and she wouldn’t look if I spoke, she just focussed on her sons face and barely even bothered with her grandchildren. I’d sit there being blanked in my own home. She talked about herself and then when she left she kissed everyone but me,
She cheated on my father in law, left him and regretted it but he wouldn’t take her back, and in her words ‘you deserve to suffer like I have suffered‘. That was enough for me and after 15 years I told my husband I’d had enough. He always covered for her and ran to her every time she cried. Her behaviour was horrenous. I just wanted her to like me and be in our children’s lives but our younger two barely knew her as she was in and out of our lives all the time due to her behaviour.
We were in Aldi one day, she saw us but didn’t speak, our children didn’t recognise her. She was at the checkout behind us fake laughing with her friend, it was so strange. Then the next day appanrelty she had a huge meltdown over it my brother in law told me. She then sent hubby a text saying ‘what we had said to the children to turn them against Me? The reality was they didn’t recognise her as they’d met her maybe 5 times since they were born as she kept sulking hubby wouldn’t leave me, and vanishing off the scene each time.
What hurts now is I’m told she splats all over Facebook what a hard working mum my sister in law is, how amazing she is etc. Why didn’t she do that for me? It hurts and I think it always will and I’m sad my children don’t have their grandmother but she wasn’t stable. Maybe now she’s had therapy and learnt from her behaviour and isn’t doing the same to her younger sons wife.
Anyway, wow I got deep on this thread. Sorry ladies, it just got to me thinking about Carol and Jess. I bet they’ve nit abused Michelle the same way they did Lauren.

Omg that resonates coz MW said he “looked down on people that don’t exercise” and maybe he was talking of MK? or she is trying to be ‘relatable’ -yawn- and so pretends that she wants to eat all day because she has that gorgeous figure, I don’t know but MK wouldn’t say anything that would make people speak of her marriage badly and have more gossip in the tabloids, so it may be harmless and he may just be trying to help her, and himself by keeping her body toned etc, to get motivated. Watched/fast forwarded a few of Marks cringe videos and saw that he tried to say she had just done his work out upstairs at the end of his video. Also there’s an article where Michelle moans that she just wants to sit and chill and eat during lockdown and he keeps going on at her saying she is lazy and making her exercise twice a day which is more than she normally does ..... the day would never come that I let a man make me exercise twice a day ... but then I am single maybe for a reason
