Howareya me internet famileee,
sure it’s oirish Mel, the most fecking oirish fecking woman in the land of Ireland,
you can tell by me accent I’m an oirish millionaire, just married the love of me life when I realised there was no other option (who has become a bit of an attention whore) and living me life to the fullest, preggo and all.
I’m still a Bi alcoholic with multiple other illnesses, but right now I’m a preggo granny....
Because I’m preggo.... did I say I’m preggo.

living it up in Mammys attic. Just being bi and...... being preggo.

there’s really nothing to say about this girl is there

fabletics. Preggo.... rinse and repeat.
Thank you to @monga for the new title suggestion With an add on from @Dearreader

To pick up from the last thread, this "self-education" thing is dangerous.

She talks about doctors and hospitals as though they're out to get women. If she spent one day shadowing consultants in a ward she would see the lengths they go to to support women and ensure they have the safest and healthiest births possible. But no, listen to the Google search results that say otherwise.

She's heading straight for an anti-vax position post birth, I'm calling it now.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend heavily pregnant women read it as it could be traumatising but Adam Kay's book This is Going to Hurt where he talks about his experiences being a junior doctor with the NHS - specialising in gynecology - shows the amount of work and care doctors put in to every woman they see and baby they care for. I hate the idea of her dismissing a doctor because she seemed young (and imagine how often that consultant has probably put up with that after years of study and work!).

I wonder how many people in Ireland Melanie has talked to about their birth experiences because it seems like so much of what she is looking at is UK and American like the video in which she reacted to births in movies and talked about a documentary she watched that focused on American births.

Lads watching the new vlog and never noticed how many times she touches her hair?? Sorry for nitpicking but jesus christ it's like 5 times a minute. I used to be like that when I was 16

Brilliant book. Just finished reading it AND currently watching Grey's Anatomy so now I'm a doctor. Oops did a Melanie there!

I thought her latest stories with reference to her childhood friend with DS came across as somewhat crass , showing vids of DS babies and then capturing the post with, the life expectancy for DS has now increased in recent decades ..I hope you're out there somewhere Carl .Hardly something you'd focus on.. if he was still alive or not ,I'd be more thinking I wonder what he achieved in life or maybe that's just me !

She's a patronising little weapon. Like does she think she's good and wholesome for doing that? What point was there in it? Especially the statement "I hope you are out there, somewhere carl" just comes across tokenistic- look at me I knew someone with Down syndrome once, how good am I.

If you cared enough about Carl, you would've kept In touch. Anything for a clap on the back, Melanie.

I'm not forgetting how she speaks in regards to people with disabilities. It's a mistake once until you keep doing it OVER and OVER and proving your ignorance.

Absolutely agree with your sentiments, monga.

It just came across is all their likely to achieve in life is living past a certain age there's plenty of people with DS have made careers for themselves in the acting and fashion world to name but a few and I'm sure are on a better salary than Melanie ...hopefully Carl is too ignorant is right x

I know this is old news, but just today I found out that I have to have a bilateral salpingo-oophrectomy at the age of 31. I'm not even a regular follower of Melanie, but I remembered that she went on (lied) about "gammy" ovaries. I'm in pain, frightened and even though I never wanted kids, deeply saddened that I now can't have bio kids (I always saw myself adopting anyway. But a loss of choice and autonomy is difficult). What kind of sick mind makes that shit up for views? Also her more or less naked posing is just horrible imo. So much more to dig into regarding her, but honestly, there aren't enough hours in the day.

Exactly. It's just extreme ignorance from someone who choses to be sheltered and uneducated on anything that doesn't affect her. She can't even take a moment to think before she opens her mouth.

The same scenario with BLM... done sweet fuck all, was begged to use her platform to highlight and share petitions and black activists and instead used her voice to ask people to help her write black characters for her own books. Then blocking POC and calling them liars.

There is no helping her, she lives in her skerries bubble desperately wanting to be high society and pretends to care about human rights and current affairs, only when it can bring her engagement. It's plain wrong and horrible behaviour, oh and transparent as fuck too

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are doing as well as can be. Welcome to the thread x

There's really something about her no? Her mouth seems bigger than her brain (literally and figuratively)
She reminds me of Lillee Jean (another YouTuber).

One of my “best friends”

one of your best friends was it Melanie??? Obviously, because it’s not a condition she can say she has herself it obviously has to be one of her “best friends”

I know a woman who lost a baby at 6/7 months, the baby would have been born with DS but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

why is she even posting about this? Out of the blue, it’s not raising awareness, she not linking to any support charities or information, just yet another thing that has nothing to do with her but she’ll use it for engagement.

I assume Karl saw that and thought “did we even speak once you liar”
Using someone else’s difficulties for her own benefit.
pure Melanie Murphy
Oh but it’s Melanie educating herself, because it’s what she does...I forgot that

Why put all those vids of those beautiful kids up and follow it by an idiotic statement like that ...one of my neighbours has downs she's a lovely girl and a great artist I'd never even think to question how long a life she'll have ,she enjoys every bit of her life and her family adore her ..

putting a photo of another woman’s baby up - and adding her own comment about his life expectancy, when it has nothing to do with the post, Is unbelievable

i clicked into the woman’s account for her son, she’s celebrating how amazing he is, she says how scared they were when they learned of his DS but they wouldn’t have it any other way, nothing about the post is related to his diagnosis, it’s all about how wonderful he is.

she reposts it with a comment which pretty much says “well at least he’ll live longer now than in the past”

there is something wrong with this woman, her attempts to look smart just make her look like an idiot.

Jinx! I was about to comment similar. It's just sheer ignorance/turning a blind eye on what's going on in the the real world.

Melanie and her faux attempts at being a self proclaimed empath. I wouldn't be too impressed if I was the mother and that's the take Melanie decided was most important to share on HER son.

You just know judging by Melanies past derogatory slurs and consistent ableism that it's not something she gives two fucks about. Would've taken her all of 2 seconds like y'all said to link to support groups for parents or charities but that's not in Melanies interests now is it?

But please youse guys sign the petition to save aer lingus and please sign this petition linked below so my husband can support ME In labour.

ME ME ME.

Another influencer called Kiera Rose shared that Instagram story about Down Syndrome but she has a family member who was born with it, so was talking personally about it and honestly Melanie's post is a carbon copy of hers except she couldn't claim someone close to her. Her post is actually so similar to Kiera Rose's it's weird but Melanie has been spamming her comments a lot anyways because she also recently had a baby.
