Being disabled and being under 4-6 different consultants for my chronic illnesses has taught me that you never really know what others are going through and chronically sick people who are always in pain act well.

There are so many assumptions being made about her finances here and how she would or wouldn't spend it on medical assistance, which is rubbish and not known to us at all.

Can I please just reiterate I never said Mel does or doesn't have chronic illnesses, so there was nothing to be offended by in my post, but everything you say about her not being in a position to research and present medical advice is completely true and how I feel on the matter too.
However, she presented this video as a response to questions she had received, *not* as a medical PSA and if people are stupid enough to seek medical advice on conceiving from a youtuber one-time mum instead of a health professional, they are stupid and should probably consider whether reproducing is a good idea.

Nursing is different as you're constantly having to learn on the go and keep up to date with everything in order for your degree to remain valid, it's more challenging than other 3 year degrees. I think you also have to get a job within 6 months of graduation in Ireland or it's no longer valid too? I meant no shade on what you do I have so much respect for nurses and carers, just not so called influencers who feel like the world owes them a living 🙄
In Ireland nursing is a four year degree
I think UK it’s 3 years

But by not getting the vaccine because you personally don't think you need it, you're still putting others at risk though so...You do you but whether or not you decide to get the vaccine does end up affecting others around you.
How? Not being smart but honestly how? Vaxxed ppl can still get and spread COVID anyway so what difference does it make?

How do you know he hasn’t paid the money to the charity?
She's acting as if antigen testing is free and only PCR costs money. Hahahhaa. Oh Melanie.

Ireland supposedly has spent 400million euros on PCR tests since this pandemic stated. And she complains about it being a waste and how antigen should be used.
Just to put it into perspective: it's estimated that in Germany, where antigen testing is widely used since March, it's costing the government and in turn the taxpayer, about 630 million euros a month to provide antigen testing.
And those antigen tests are used IN ADDITION AND NOT INSTEAD OF the PCR tests she dreads so much. It's not like we stopped using PCR tests all together in Germany. They are just used in different ways. So if you test positive on the antigen tests most of the time you're given a PCR afterwards. And of course there are other occasions when they are used as well. They remain the gold standard of testing.
Yes, Germany is a lot bigger than Ireland and it's not the same, I know. But 400 million euros since the start of the pandemic, when for a huge amount of this time no vaccines were available, and testing was the only way to even partially contain and control the situation, is really not exorbitant. And I would wager proportionally Germany and countries that have used antigen testing for a while haven't spent any less. So I don't really get her complaints.
She complains about incompetence in decision makers and how money should really go to things she feels are "the right places". At the same time the fundraiser her husband did from, originally, May 11th still hasn't paid a dime to the organisation. It's been almost two months. It's going to be 2022 by the time the donations get to the recipient 😅

Has anybody seen the video about Melanie by the Youtuber à-bas-le-ciel?
Just stumbled upon it. Is it worth the watch?

Not really the thread for it, but it makes a difference. If you are vaccinated and you get Covid, your body knows how to handle it - therefore your 'viral load' is smaller. This means you are much less likely to spread it because you have less virus in your body. Plus you aren't likely to need hospital treatment, meaning you are not putting additional strain on already underfunded public healthcare.
And yet nobody’s demonising the HSE for doing sweet feckall to mitigate a crisis that’s been happening for almost 2 years? Easier to just set the plebs on each other. Nope not buying it, sorry. But like you say off-topic so back to Mel. 🙂

This will start to get boring for others but since you asked… straight from the horses mouth.
All have only been granted Conditional authorisation on a non-recourse basis.

Suspect we need to agree to disagree on this one either way tho.

‘If she really wanted to dine indoors she would get the vaccine.’ Vaccines are supposed to be about health, not socialising tho?

Does someone want to do the lords work and point out to her you don’t get the dole while you’re in full time education, summers included.
Not to defend her but it is possible in certain circumstances (i did it myself!) - mainly being over a certain age but this might have changed since I did it about 5 years ago
