I live in the UAE - in Abu Dhabi in fact. We just brought our kids back to Ireland today. Couldnt take the fear any more.
But I will be going back without my husband and kids next week if its still unsafe because I have to work and I will lose my job if I dont.
For working people or those without anywhere else to go, i get why they have to stay and have to keep being positive. but for fuckwits like this Meg twit, who dont work and who have somewhere to go (as well as the means to do it) I judge them for not removing their kids from the situation.

She’s basically following the Dubai script saying it’s totally safe and the ‘western’ media are lying to make it appear worse. It’s so embarrassing licking the boots of a government like Dubai. She has no shame

I don’t think anyone has been scripted to say these things - I think the issue is that they are (a) trying to justify their decision to stay and leave themselves and their kids in danger despite having other options (you don’t see Lebanese influencers being so sycophantic because they don’t have a better option) and (b) trying to portray a persona that includes bravery, warrior mama and overly chill.
We left last week my husband has to stay for work for the next 3 months felt it wasnt safe even the kids living in that environment isn't good my nerves were gone kids need normality I dont get why shes staying there her partner is away alot with work he come easily fly back to see them
They haven't a pot to piss in so prob can't afford the flights home
She did say if they get lucky so I am assuming it's the cheaper flights for familyShes going homeeveryone saying how safe dubai is now leaving

Think it depends - some people get it included or deducted from wages! Everything for them is heavily discounted but they definitely don’t live a boujee lifestyle.
