She’s so disingenuous about ads! Saying that she re-shared something about her sofa and didn’t get paid to do it.. yes, perhaps not for that specific story? However you still got paid for an ad at the end of May cos it’s on your grid.. and probably also got the sofa for free? People are right to call you out on it if they feel you aren’t being honest!

It’s the same with the kitchen. She was tying herself in knots in the comments saying she wasn’t being paid for the ‘ad’ — no, but you’re getting a kitchen for free 🤣 that’s the same as being paid £30k in my book.

I don’t think she understands (or wilfully misunderstands) the difference between an ad and a partnership. As part of her “partnerships” she provides advertising exposure on her social media….its not as if Joules are having her co-design their autumn season…..

Just very defensive and arrogant over the issue of ads and gifted posts - as she knows deep down she is a sponger. And worked really hard? I’d go so far as to say her job doing Instagram is only part time. Seeing as she is the wonderful doting maman who spends all afternoons and weekends virtually solo parenting her enfants, as daddy gets back late from the office from his well paid jobs, that affords the house. With kids that age, and no help remember, there is no way she is spending a full day working. Kids don’t exactly allow for that! Ha - that’s why she ropes them into the content and paid posts, easy money when the kids are around!

She’s such a fool having a tantrum over someone calling her out for the sofa ads 😂. I reckon she’s going to have some sort of downfall in the not too distant future - she’s totally sold out and is so far from what she was originally.

What do people think of her association with Dyson? Tempted to call her out as it seems mad to me that she’s happy to be associated with a brexity brand given her USP. But I guess she does well out of it!

I assume she doesn't think anything through, just sees the pay cheque and will anything

I like to see people be a little more critical over all this in her comments. Not to be mean but just to let these people know they’re not above it all, just because they get paid to dress up and down in undies as in her case, and make money for what is really a whole lotta pissing about. It seems like these insta and SM types know it’s a fine line they’re treading, tomorrows chip paper and that, but they’re all too quick to defend their shady actions and moral bankruptcy- as they know it’s a good easy gig.

Easily easier work than let’s say a nurse or teacher- and financially a walk in the park by comparison. They know this too! Despite trying to play the “I’m so humble” card..

When they get arrogant and lose touch with reality, I think meh… make your money from mugs like us - time to unsub and speak up

The thing is, what she’s saying are not ads - they actually are. Whether she’s been paid for that particular story or not, she has tagged the company, named them and therefore is advertising them. I report it EVERY time to ASA yet she still gets away with it!

Just noticed the little ad popped in the bottom line when advertising again - all lower case and barely visible. Always find was round the rules, don’t want people to think she’s being crafty or anything!

she’s not an idiot. She’s being wilfully obtuse and talking in word salad to try and save face.

what on earth does this block of text even mean? Sounds like she’s saying, I love these products I get for free guys, honest.

how hasn’t ASA warned her about this? If she’s sharing a story which basically admits to breaking their guidelines. An advert when it’s reshared, must still be labelled as an ad. Because the content is still advertising.

**the ASA (via the CAP Code) treats them just like any other advertising content. That means you must make it immediately obvious that it’s an ad—even if you’re just reposting something.**

Manon isn’t an idiot, and her husband has a Cambridge degree. So I refuse to believe they aren’t capable of reading the guidelines and following them.

so I’ll be reporting this exact story, because this is mind boggling to me that she’s being this openly deceptive and then coming onto her stories to insist it’s fine. The gaslighting, Lord.

it feels like the Manon I had a girl crush on in 2019 is so far removed from her current self. That Manon wasn’t a fraction as arrogant as this one. Imagine happily posting to your followers all of that! Acting above the rules and shrugging it off because you like your sofa so it’s grand. The cognitive dissonance? Arrogance?

wtf happened Manon?

Wtf happened - I think what happened is she’s trying really, really hard to fit in with the “cool girl” influencer crowd. She’s desperate now to be part of that crew and that has become her new identity. It’s such a shame as she seemed really genuine before but she’s not likeable at all anymore.

I get the sense she’s trying to fit in with her husbands family?
She’s less influencer baddie, more veering into tradwife in the vein of ballerina farm etc.

home cooked meals, showing off the home, wearing expensive clothing, nice holidays, showing off her kids. It’s very middle class in a way she never seemed to be bothered about before. Her blog did seem pretty genuine about wanting to share cooking ideas and a bit of lifestyle.

I wonder if the British class system got to her a bit.

God can’t even have a friend (or her or person?/friend) over for lunch without advertising every moment of the day including your friend (or PR person).. how delightful! The tableware, her breakfast, the wine.. what is left to flog? Oh probably the Arigi Bianchi dining room table and thermonox/her oven manufacturer.. who else can she add? Oh I saw Taylor swift and some kids book thing linked too.. Christ on a bike she will advertise anything.

Probably trying to get Taylor swift tickets for her daughter now - not that she’d admit her “French daughter” liked “american music”. Can see this happening as her girl grows up and develops her own tastes, mummy trying to put a lid on her daughters self expression and her likes and desires. Maybe that is why she will be sent to live with nanny and grandad in France at every half term? So the poor kids aren’t allowed any British influences.. not sure why she lives here at this stage - oh yes, she chose to come here and marry one of us and raise a family with him. It can’t be that bad then?!

Ps north France/brittany weather is always tit too… you’re not exactly from st tropez Cherie..

Can anyone give a clue on the rough location of the new place? I think it was a townhouse, I may have heard that once or twice?

it’s Clapham. Same road as they were renting on.
It’s a townhouse/maisonette. There’s a ground floor flat beneath them.

why have a nice lunch with friends when you can flog crap on Instagram.

You’d think her friend in PR would tell her how bad the optics are, using your daughter to beg for tailor swift tickets

All about the ££.. but of course she’s not materialistic - she’s French. It’s all about savoir fare, la vie en rose and l’art de vivre. It’s effortless guys - not manipulated and bullcrap at all.

Yes does reek a little of desperation with every other word in a post being a link or whatever it may be called. Even if she flouts the ASA rules, every post seems to have either a gift, ad or beg for freebies in it. Paid in gifts and money for begging and advertising online? What a weird world we live in!
