I thought the baking with Fleur reels were very cute but she's taken it to the next level now, in her drive to create content. When did it start? Was it around the tim she and Fleur went on an all-expenses paid trip to Paris, sponsored by Jacardi or Bonpoint? I remember lots of modelling and driving around in a mini with no seatbelts, and woe betide anyone who pointed that out. French mamans don't need seatbelts like the plebs!

I think once she started sharing pregnancy content then baby stuff, she obviously got extra engagement there, maybe from just mums, not just people who saw her on bake off. Yes it all very beggy, and using the kids… may not quite that saccony family, but she’s isn’t far off. Just obviously much more raffine, elegante and continental.

I think it’s a well trodden path that lots of young influencers morph into wedding influencers, then baby influencers and finally home style/decor influencers. Once engagement their drops they start the Podcast on dealing with lack of sex in a modern marriage and dealing with undisclosed PTSD and ADHD.

Is it because the cooking stuff just isn’t taking off?

it’s so depressingly common now.

her poor kids. Everything about them is online without their consent. Their images, their childhood. Their date of birth. Their weight at birth. Their likes and dislikes.

worst of all - Manon’s home is very, very easily identifiable. I know the exact address of her house, which means her kids privacy is practically non existent.

it’s changed how I view her completely. I never had her down as this… smug, image conscious person, desperate for the brand deals even if it means exploiting her kids.

the little girl being pushed into the modelling. She’s just a normal little girl. It’s giving pushy showbiz momager vibes. Grosses me right out.

Well when your alternate option is to get a 9-5 job with the rest of us plebs it’s hardly surprising she’s willing to make compromises to maintain a defensible income as an influencer and effectively be a yummy mummy. I suspect she’s grifting as hard as possible to prove she can maintain this full time. She doesn’t seem very picky about the brands she’ll work with / endorse. There isn’t a coherent strategy really. I also believe she may not know about the tax bill she is accruing. Her true net income might not compare quite as favourable with the pay from the job she is undoubtedly intelligent enough to get.

FGS, the nails posts, who cares??
Me! I actually liked this content from her! Feels like so many instagrammers post about nails/brows/lashes/extensions/tans as if it’s a totally normal thing to spend time and money on every month. It was refreshing to see somebody point out that naked nails are fine.

She remains problematic in many ways, and I hope the engagement she got from this opens her eyes a little.

I’m confused on how the French manicure falls under bare nails?

isn’t the whole point of a French manicure that it’s still nail polish, just with a natural look? Ergo it’s not bare nails and not the same thing..?

I mean up to Manon if she paints her nails or not, a total non issue. But felt a bit weird to me that her take is “well my husband likes them”.

are our husbands the final sign off now on what is and isn’t ok? If she prefers bare nails then that should be it. Why does her husband’s preference come up as though his seal of approval is needed..?

She's veering into trad wife imo

Yes, and the whole "my husband doesn't know his way around the kitchen and had never baked a cake before" is too weird. How did he look after himself before he met Manon? And I think she's said he doesn't get home until the kids are in bed?

Trad wife yes - I am getting this too. But on a more manipulative way? A show trad wife - using the persona to think it’ll get her a better following. Thinking people idolise this in her, personally, I find it a bit doormatty and outdated. But that is up there with the perfect mother schtick. Every ad filled post seems to bother me at the moment. Joules ad - she dresses like an old lady, more sofa ads even though she’s already posted the sofa content and company to death, rehashing the nail crap..

I didn’t realise Manon had her own thread, so glad I found you all. WTF was that all about?

I thought whoever messaged her about her lack of nail polish was ridiculous but she’s so sensitive to criticism.. the cringey retort of “wElL mY HusBaNd lIkEs iT” completely undercut any validity in the point of not conforming to beauty standards.

Plus she only posted the picture to show off her jewellery so.. 🤯🤣

Oh also, just went on to the stories (?) and saw the below - errm is her dad and his family, and her place of birth nothing to do with who she is? Y know, genetics and that?! I personally find that bloody rude - to her daughter’s father and her husband - and his family too. It’s like she tries to french wash (new thing?!) her life - for the ££ (or €€?). She ain’t half milking it - well maybe it’s only us who can see it - frankly I don’t get the appeal - shove anyone who farts about in their underwear online on SM and they’ll soon get a following. I don’t put it down to talent - get a pretty girl (woman sorry), in her skimpies, and intersperse with ads for random crap to get the £££ - this is all SM is.

Oh love the evolution of an Instagrammer too! It’s pretty accurate! Trend jumping and predictable.

I think Manon pushed the French thing because it’s her USP. It’s how she got on bake-off. She works with a lot of French businesses who presumably want to establish themselves in the U.K. (like Le Creuset and that underwear brand).

she’s using fleur as part of this branding I’m assuming.

Sorry but her fashion sense is dire, none of those joules outfits are well put together.

The Joules stuff doesn't seem to fit well - is she very petite?

Just read her Substack where she talks about "working so hard and saving every penny" for their dream home aka new London townhouse.

Easy to save the pennies when you never have to pay for clothes or holidays (did they pay for any accommodation on their French road trip last year), and let's not pretend that generational wealth from his side of the family didn't play a part.
