I just find her content really dull these days apart from her cooking videos which I like because they are simple, nicely filmed and edited, and chatter-free. Do I like her enough to buy her recipe books? hell no. Her style of food is pretty simple and basic and can be found in plenty of places online. I'll probably watch the house tour because I'm a sucker for older style homes but tbh I think it would have been more interesting to see some 'realistic' content of the house. I'm sick to death of her stupid grainy soft-focus insta stories set to plinky plonky pseudo classical music. I expect we will see more of this type of footage when it comes to the garden because I am pretty sure that Madeleine thinks that 'gardening' means posing for instagram shots in an ugly frock carrying a £200 handmade wicker basket she got from etsy.

On the positive side, she tied her hair back before she cooked in her most recent vlog.

I unfollowed a while back as she is moany and boring but I watched the house tour. It's a very nice house and I'm definitely jealous because I am in my 40s and nowhere near being able to buy a house, despite working my arse off for 20 years.

I love the kitchen.

Glad I'm not the only one. Watching all of these younger people from a privileged background makes me quite upset sometimes.

The awful-apron pictures were done when she did that stupid ad for samsung washers. Her aesthetic is so bizarre sometimes - what on earth made her think that dressing like a scullery maid in porridge coloured clothing to pretend to do laundry was a good idea? The whole thing is so staged and pretentious...ugh!

I think she's trying to crack into the whole slow-living thing as a way of rebranding herself. The problem I have with this is that when people like Madeleine start blathering on about slow-living, all I can think about is how incredibly privileged it sounds.
She has had the luxury of working for herself, at home, during a pandemic. She has been able to cocoon herself away from any risk, she can sit at home and order food and expensive homewares delivered to her door, and over all of this time she has been able to continue earning. #Slow-living is something that is easy for the wealthy/privileged to do. Can you imagine telling a low wage essential worker / healthcare worker trying to juggle work, childcare, and financial pressures that they "really need to slow down more" It's just so fucking clueless of her.

I really really struggle to understand how her life could be any slower then it already is. Even with all the renovations, all we have seen her do is sand some beams and paint a few cupboards before she chucked a snit and decided it was all too much like hard work and they needed to pay for someone to paint ONE room. Ditto the gardens and pretty much everything else. She does appear to arrange her own flowers though so I guess that's something. Probably needs to take a nap afterwards though!

I think they compromised on not having a second living room in the end. Maddie was only looking at houses with two living rooms and then reluctantly considered this house which only has one living room like the rest of us.

The house is absolutely beautiful! It blows my mind that two people under 30 who both work on a YouTube channel of that size can afford something like that. I'm still not sure why they bought a loaf bed for one of the guest rooms rather than just putting their old bed in that room, but I guess that's their business. It just seems obvious to only buy one new bed if you don't have to buy two!

I can watch the so called renovations out of curiosity but if she starts posting wedding prep videos for an ostentatious Cornish wedding I will unfollow. The wedding industry is fucked and so unsustainable. I have an interest in peoples' homes hence why I'm still watching her content but I really couldn't care less about someone's wedding.

As a loyal viewer since 2016, I've had enough. I no longer like, respect or trust her. I have unfollowed on YouTube and am about to unfollow on insta.

It's weird because it's a bit like cutting ties with a friend, but a toxic friend who doesn't make you feel good.
Maybe I'll watch a video here and there, but for now it's bye bye Maddie.

Haven’t watched her videos in years and unsubscribed a long time ago because I genuinely found her SO irritating. had a quick look today and god shes not changed at all constant complaining about her mental health and sounding on the verge of tears, most dull personality and so bloody sheltered from actual problems (nothing to do with her ‘privilege‘, more to do with her being so dramatic and crying over the smallest things). Alex completely strikes me as the type to laugh at his own jokes when no one else even realises it was supposed to be funny.

I didn't realize she went to St Andrews university. I think she is just from an extremely privileged background and her privilege is just seeping out now. She can no longer contain it.

It’s even like when she makes a point of saying “the Volvo” instead of just the car, it’s a car just like any other . I think this house has definitely gone to her head and like you say her true, privileged self can break free.

It’s annoying as I thought she was one of the more down to earth influencers. She’s entitled to move of course but I liked the modest house they had before, the smaller kitchen where they struggled for space as many can relate to that but now it’s just like she’s obsessed with pushing her privilege and money in people’s faces. You can be happy and excited about something without being a show off.

Please tell me that today's 43 minute video isn't her doing a DIY without reading up on what she's doing first? The attitude of just wading in without researching things then messing up, potentially doing it dangerously and reacting with 'oops!' is gross. Alternative title: 'Mixing dangerous chemicals in my Georgian home'. I really hope the pets weren't in the house while she was doing this.

I think the same regarding a lot of influencers who work for themselves, they would get eaten alive in a typical desk job because they never seem to actually sit down and do work They say they have people that work for them, what do they do that can't be done remotely?

Yes absolutely! In her vlog the other day she said she was having a 'working day' but from noon onwards she went to the gym, took the dog to the vets and then for a walk. That's not work that's what people do on their day off!!! Luckily for Maddie every day is a day off

She's just such an odd woman. She doesn't really seem to be equipped to cope with every-day life and doesn't appear to have any curiosity or interest in anything other than online shopping. Even her veganism is just kind of meh and seems to revolve around eating fake meats and vegan junk food. Someone else above commented that she seems to just jump on whatever bandwagon is convenient and I think that's true. She definitely hates gardening - they moved into the house right at the start of spring and could have had a pretty amazing beginner garden by now but they don't appear to have done much and she seems to be really hung-up on having to do things "the right way" It's a garden FFS!. Get your hands dirty and get stuck in and figure it out as you go. Nobody cares if you make mistakes! I think the garden is just an accessory for her to post lame instagram pictures of her fugly clothing. And goddamn it I swear I will cut her hands off if she doesn't stop touching her hair every 5 seconds!

Ladies, people are dying. Others have lost livelihoods, food bank usage is at an all time high, the economy is in tatters.

It’s really strange to think back to how committed she was to minimalism when I first started watching her. I think it was one of those 50 things you don’t need / should get rid off videos. She was insisting that you should get rid of stuff like jewellery if you’re not wearing it.
