I can see them struggling a bit over the next few years - their prices were always at a point that made them a treat rather than everyday toiletries, but people just aren't going to pay £6 for a single bath now.
I wonder if the new management is getting too greedy- they jumped quite abruptly from ‘bit spendy but worth it’ to totally absurd. They also seem to use more (cheaper) artificial perfumes and ingredients than they used to.

Re: the shop harassment, someone told me they had to give a compliment to each customer and approach them at least twice. It’s all pretty uncomfortable 🤣 like being stalked by an overly-earnest social worker. 🤣

I think it would be cool to have symbol stickers or something for neurodiverse or just plain unsociable or shy types, to request them not to badger you. Lucy and Yak have started doing this and I think it’s a great idea!

Snow fairy spray and the shower gel. I'm sure it used to have glitter in but now it doesn't? Their prices have gone up too but I will buy that snow fairy spray at Christmas it's just so good! 💕

Yes! I bought a bottle and got a bottle as part of a gift and I was shocked! Same for sticky dates I feel like I’m being played 🙃 Higher price, lower quality product.
It’s really bad isn’t it! I don’t understand how they quality controlled and approved the consistency, it’s just so liquidy. I thought I must’ve gotten a dodgy batch, but I saw other people had left reviews saying the same thing. Lush has always been an expensive treat, but I could justify it because of the quality.

I hope Lush doesn’t go the way as The Body Shop, they still seem popular but people will stop buying if the quality gets worse 😥

Snow Fairy shower gel is my fave Lush scent. Really like their strawberry massage soap bar thing - not sure if they still make it though?

Mark Constantine has always been quite controversial, iirc some years ago he did some quite dodgy stuff in support of a protest by the gypsy community that he attended.

Anyway, I used to get Lush’s catalogue through the post and I was obsessed with all the products, sadly when I tried them I was horribly allergic to almost all of them. Especially Mask of Magnaminty, Aquamarina and Fresh Farmacy! I so wanted to be able to use them as it’s all so appealing.

I’ve just run a bath with some of the comforter bubble bar. It smells delicious. All my family and friends know they can’t go wrong getting me some lush for birthdays 😂
I currently have a giant comforter, and 2 normal sized ones left from Christmas 🤣 I love it so much

Tbf, they were absolutely incredible. Not only did they exchange it, they gave me some freebies to ‘apologise’ for me having to take it back. Amazing customer service
Aww that’s really great to hear! Their staff are always so friendly and nice, I’m so glad the exchange process went smoothly. I hope you’ll enjoy your new products and freebies ❤

I’m still trying to decide what to use my £3 voucher on! 😅 Do I get soap, a bath bomb or splurge on one of the limited edition shower gels/body sprays?

Did you work there? I worked there some time ago and can confirm what you said about the quotas. You are indeed expected to approach EVERY customer. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who give you the 'I'm just browsing' brush-off. The store I worked in was very weird, very cliquey. Almost like school!

I think it's Jack Constantine (Mark's son) running the show now, and he's doing a great job... of running Lush into the ground! I'm not convinced Lush will be around in 10 years' time, the way things are going. They're charging luxury prices for what are basically kids' products.
I didnt work there, but know a lot of people who did. And I have heard that too-they are very cliquey and definitely play favorites!
Yes, with all the bonuses they have paid and all the very expensive rents, it will be interesting to see where they end up. I cant believe the prices now. I remember forum days when they used to make things especially for those folks. THOSE were the golden days imo.

I love Charity Pot, it's my favourite moisturiser.
I also loved 9-5 facial cleansing milk but they discontinued it a good while ago now. They told me, in my local shop, that it's because they can't get one particular ingredient and that loads of people ask if it's ever coming back.
I even emailed Lush to ask about it, it was the best facial cleanser, I miss it!
I agree about the shop assistants approaching customers the minute they step inside, it's annoying and I never know why the management insist on it.
Ooh now that you said about cleansers I remembered that I really liked Ultrabland cleanser. It does a really great job taking off all the make up. I’m not that keen on a texture because it’s a bit waxy but in general it’s such a good product!
Also I tried a few hair conditioners but they were nothing special so don’t remember the names.
Now I haven’t been to Lush ages but if I go then mainly for skin/body/hair care, not interested much in bath products.
And yes their approach is a bit annoying sometimes. It’s like the second you step inside I have a feeling they just want to grab your arm and force it inside one of those water bowls to demonstrate something whatever. Nah I’m good thanks.

That was circulating yesterday, I assumed it was fake. Sounds like it was real from lushs response.

They’ve done a few odd things over the years- dumping manure in front of Downing Street or similar to make some sort of point about animal testing, and distributing chest binders explicitly to help kids access them without their parents knowing. They can be damaging to growing tissue so it’s pretty irresponsible.
