Zara isn't very bright if she thought that the cheaply made footstool would hold a person's weight standing on it.

I think Luke and Mr C have a genuine friendship but they get advantages from it with events, making content together, a lunch out and a candle haul is easy content for both plus acting as photographer for each other.

More eating out and loads of drinks. They make a mockery of acting like they are trying to save. I don't get it. He must make enough to live on and Zara has a decent job but still it's a very hard market out there.

I’m sure that Luke and Mr C claim back a lot of the expenses from their days out. They can claim travel/petrol, food etc.

Yes but it is taken off their tax bill at the end of the financial year but only if HMRC believe it is a genuine business expense

If he films about tasting food, or that he goes to a particular restaurant and it’s specifically for a vlog then he can classify the costs as work related. He will absolutely be getting that money back.

Hello 👋 new here, I discovered Luke's channel a few months ago and just found this thread.

I can't get over how much he buys (especially the tat from charity shops), he definitely has a touch of compulsive buying disorder. Everytime he crosses the door he comes back with bags upon bags. Then he complains about the prices of properties going up and that their savings wouldn't get them much in London? And now he's just bought a new sofa to replace a perfectly usable one in good condition, the same thing he did with the dining table, chairs, desk etc. But then again I guess if he were to stop buying his videos would only last about 2 minutes lol

Also, does nobody else find how he talks for his age really strange? Everything is "fabulous" or "joyous" or "delightful", I don't know anyone in their 20s who talks like that. It just makes him seem disingenuous. His pal Mr Carrington (although equally as bad for buying crap), is much more natural in front of the camera and you can tell he's just being himself.

Welcome 🤗 I completely agree with you about the endless shopping, mostly for stuff not needed or horrible pieces of art work in tatty frames 🤣

That room see more makeovers than a furniture Showroom. New sofa every 12 months, new paint every five minutes, bar cart now 'library', dining table swap out. It's dizzying. Though I'd be doing so if it was all freebies as well lol.

5 months later, another boring makeover with another free sofa 🙄 I'm fairly sure he didn't mention it was a freebie on YouTube but he did on Instagram 🤔

Who sits on a bleedin' chair like that? I'm no Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen, but that boy just ain't got a clue.

Oh look, its a cheap nasty copy of the Made.com Scott sofa. All this constant redecoration with tat is *so* environmentally friendly.

I've just seen his new video and it is a classic case of 'counting your chickens before they hatch.' That said, I do understand his frustrations with the housing market and the pressure from trying to get away from renting.
If I were him and Zara, I would consider getting a short-term lease in an area that they want to live in. It allows them to see if they like the area and it also gives Zara a chance to realise how draining and soul-sucking a long commute actually is.

He is so dramatic. I mean a new chapter I thought Zara had left!. Well at least we won't have to hear anymore about him buying a bloody house. Also he has been quiet on YouTube as he has got nothing new to show. I wonder if Zara having started her New Chapter with her job has said that she doesn't want to move

He really needs to think outside the box a bit. Had he looked at another area - as I previously suggested - nearer his hometown he could have been on the property market ages ago - then at least one of them would be in a better position.

He told on himself by saying 'we might have more Christmases in this flat and you'll have to see the same tree'. Moving for #content rather than buying a home. Zara's employers have clearly told her no WFH/hybrid working.

If he's realistic, he can afford a home. But that would involve buying a massive project or *shudder* moving back toward the North. Imagine!

Its all a bit self indulgent after what everyone has been through the last few years, and the state of the cost of living, to be crying on Youtube because you can't afford a massive house in the South East aged 24.
