@Tofino. And as you say, it makes absolutely no sense that you wouldn't want your new defence barrister to have access to everything possible if you knew you were innocent. You might not even think that your original defence team made mistakes, but you would welcome anything that cast doubt on any of the evidence.
No doubt she's enjoying the drama and continual attention. We saw during her own testimony how manipulative she is: for example lying about what she was wearing when she was arrested just to try to elicit sympathy.
As I said before, I have been largely trying to ignore all the talk about her appeal because I find it really distasteful. Letby's own performance on the stand showed her to be an incorrigible liar and a completely unreliable witness. There was so much more that showed her guilt aside from the expert reports. I wonder how MacDonald squares her disputing the time of when Baby E's mother came down with the expressed milk as an example? What is the likelihood of baby E's parent's being mistaken or even lying about such an important detail which was the beginning of what would have been the worst night of their lives? Or when she accidentally said that she knew what she was looking for in relation to baby I?
I can't imagine the pain that the families are feeling with this ongoing campaign.
