Sick of all the headlines being about Letby’s lawyers seeking a pause to the inquiry when there has been so much other stuff said. But that was the plan, wasn’t it? To do it today so they could take over the headlines. It’s all part of the PR strategy. The solicitors have sent a copy of the letter to the media outlets. All of them saying they have seen the letter in full. It wasn’t about pausing the inquiry, it was about dominating the headlines with anything that is pro-Letby. And of course any refusal will just be added to the list of all the unfair things that have happened to Letby.

Anyway, this was buried in one article from COCH. Which is probably very significant for police investigation.

Mr Kennedy said: “We accept that the correct course of action at the end of October 2015 was for Letby to be excluded from the neonatal unit.

“We recognise the significance of this concession to the parents of children who were harmed or killed by Letby after the beginning of November 2015 and I can only say that the trust is profoundly sorry for the failure to intervene sooner.”

This is from the written submission that I presume he’s referring to. I think Powell may need to sweat over this as they are saying she downplayed Dr B’s concerns and no evidence she raised it with exec. That doesn’t absolve the exec for their inaction further down the line though.

Closing submissions are lengthy so not read in full but I think COCH as an organisation are not supportive of the former exec. They are actually suppprting the consultants 😭😭😭

this is them supporting Dr J not saying his concerns at the inquest for baby A and essentially putting this firmly on Cross.

Wait for the narrative to become Cross, Harvey, Chambers et al to be the new ‘scapegoats’.
I sure can't wait for those Gross Negligence Manslaughter shoes to drop.

So concessions from the CoC’s own lawyers saying letby should have been stopped earlier.
That’s HUGE.
She’s got new solicitors also.

I think the PR company have to be behind the timing of the release for maximum impact.. It's like when governments try to bury bad news isn't it.

Yes, this. If they genuinely wanted to stop the inquiry (if they thought they had a slither of a chance) then why not put in your submission back in February like the former execs and Davis MP did? Why wait until the morning of the first day of submissions?

What’s their name? Wondering if her original solicitors bailed and these are now ‘pro bono’. Letby keeping all the cowboys in business by a mystery backer!

When your Letby supporter goes to one of these gatherings, looks at those around them, do they think to themselves "you know my life hasn't turned out the way I hoped it would"

Unless her original solicitors were prepared to do it for free I suppose she had to look elsewhere. Didn't she have a Chester firm? Probably not a good look in the local community to continue batting for her

I’m really, really can’t wait to hear the closing submission for the former execs. I wonder how they are going to spin it.

Didn't Sarah Knapton say it was going to be "lengthy" or something similar? Why is it with these guys that everything has to be long, the best, the most, etc etc? Like they feel it somehow gives it more credibility.

Yep and she ‘forgot’ to mention we will also be hearing from the families. But they aren’t pro-Letby so don’t deserve a mention 🙄

I was thinking this morning how Letby fan club should actually welcome a lot of the evidence we’ve heard in the inquiry. Because if they believe she is innocent, then Powell let her down by not removing her in October 2015. The execs also failed her by not removing her before June 2016. Because by their theory, if she had been removed then the other unexpected collapses and deaths would have still happened and Letby would have been exonerated immediately. It would never have even got to a police investigation.

All by their own theory of course!! So their pitchforks should be aimed at the managers and execs too.

nah these guys are the heroes - Powell, Harvey, Kelly etc. They stood by Letby while she was victimised by those doctors.

Help, please, lovely Tattlers. My usually sensible, reasonable, scientific partner has gone full “She is innocent!”. He’s been telling me that the doctors scapegoated her for either accidentally or deliberately killing babies, that there were infections on the ward etc etc.

And now yesterday told me triumphantly that the police are investigating the hospital - assuming this means that the police now know LL is innocent.

The most concession he has allowed is that maybe no one deliberately killed any babies, but that LL conviction is unsafe and so must be reviewed.

He is usually open to reason, I think I’m just not very good at explaining. And the press conference has enraged me so much that it’s hard to talk about it without squeaking . . . ! (esp Taylor saying of Dr B re baby O that it he’d “done that” he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night, after killing a baby and getting an innocent nurse sent to prison)

Can you recommend anything for me to share with him - I think he’s basically watched the press conference and taken it uncritically for all the usual reasons. I thought about the Susan Oliver videos, but I've got a feeling that he'd take against her.

All the thank yous to you lovely people.
