"it will offer the Chair no reassurance that a properly formulated and reasoned application to the CCRC is in existence, let alone that it will be considered imminently."

“it suggests Letby’s team are more concerned with publicity stunts than putting forward a properly reasoned or legally sound appeal”

Help, please, lovely Tattlers. My usually sensible, reasonable, scientific partner has gone full “She is innocent!”. He’s been telling me that the doctors scapegoated her for either accidentally or deliberately killing babies, that there were infections on the ward etc etc.

And now yesterday told me triumphantly that the police are investigating the hospital - assuming this means that the police now know LL is innocent.

The most concession he has allowed is that maybe no one deliberately killed any babies, but that LL conviction is unsafe and so must be reviewed.

He is usually open to reason, I think I’m just not very good at explaining. And the press conference has enraged me so much that it’s hard to talk about it without squeaking . . . ! (esp Taylor saying of Dr B re baby O that it he’d “done that” he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night, after killing a baby and getting an innocent nurse sent to prison)

Can you recommend anything for me to share with him - I think he’s basically watched the press conference and taken it uncritically for all the usual reasons. I thought about the Susan Oliver videos, but I've got a feeling that he'd take against her.

All the thank yous to you lovely people.
I'd highly recommend The Trial podcast. There's are a lot of episodes, but it covers every day of her original trial and retrial so you can hear the evidence which was put towards the jury.

Around the time of her first appeal I'll admit I had wondered if this maybe was a dire miscarriage of justice. But after listening to the podcast (and supplementary reading of the excellent wiki pages), I can't see any other answer than the answer that LL is responsible.

The problem with the press conference and the new report is they are looking at the deaths in isolation, and not along side the bigger picture of what was going on in the ward and her actions. It's the whole picture of evidence presented to the jury that ultimately brought them to find her guilty.

If he's not willing to listen to the whole podcast, the days which cover her being on the stand are highly interesting. She didn't have to give evidence in her own defence, yet she chose to go on the stand for many hours and didn't have any good explanation for any of her actions.

Wow massive take down of the new “expert” panel! Finally someone calling out Modi’s conflict of interest.

This is a beautiful summary of all the bull spaffed out by the latest innocence grift!

@cokeyoakey your partner should have a read of the annex from family groups 2 and 3 (pages 148-157).

So it looks like the only people who want the Inquiry suspended are either in prison or on their way there :D

Dr Brearey emails were mysteriously deleted prior to June 2016.
Yep I wonder if the police may have more recovery powers than an employment tribunal, or whether the emails are gone forever.

I agree with the families here.. Cross has escaped a lot of the scrutiny. So many unanswered questions relating to him still.

Tell them to read the closing submissions from the parents. Pretty much sums all of the bull up and exposes it for what it is, worthless.

I got bored of defending myself against brain dead bleeps yesterday. I blocked the lot of them and then blocked her name on X 🤣

I love how the inquiry has carried on as normal all week despite the submissions to pause it. After tomorrow there would be nothing else public until Lady Thirlwall publishes her report anyway.

There’s zero chance it will be paused but I wonder if there will be a formal response to the request.

I have no doubt Lady T will refuse the request to pause the Inquiry and she will explain why.

Baker & Skelton were amazing today

Lady T was great in her questions at the right time, just a shame the families room overlooked the rabble yesterday 😡

Ahh were you there both days?
Yeah a few of us went

Going home soon and will read the submissions & transcripts again, only Kate B has asked for it to be paused and we know the reasons for that!

I really don’t know how the families have the strength to keep going through all this for going on for 10 years

Subtle, but notice when it’s something said against Letby the headline is a quote, but when it supports Letby it’s not and could appear factual.

I don’t know how some of you have the stamina for X. I can barely go on it as all the misinformation and fawning over a baby killer is so infuriating.

One of Letby’s biggest champions still doesn’t seem to understand (or deliberately ignores) the original post mortems were NOT forensic.
