Has there been any word from them why they have given numbers to the babies rather than use the ciphers?

This just smacks of trying to confuse the public and to make it harder to cross check the claims. Won’t wash with people like us on here but I can see how the stupid public and press would struggle with it.

The people saying they knew she was innocent all along because she never fitted the "profile" as if murderers and serial killers aren't normal people that walk amongst us. If they were easy to spot by looking at them then no one would ever be murdered

Unfortunately people love a conspiracy theory because it's more exciting than the cold hard truth.

Neither did Ted Bundy or the Gilgo Berach killer. John Wayne Gacy was a very respectable man and a pillar of the community. Myra Hindley was a Manchester secretary who attended mass weekly. Harold Shipman was a much loved family GP. Dennis Rader was a storybook husband and father.

Do these cretins not ever contemplate that the 100+ serial killers active in the US right now might have avoided arrest so long because they don't fit this mythical profile.

I came on here before to post theories and was shot down and blocked by the thread author. I’m not sticking around to derail the obvious bias that is on show here, I wouldn’t want to disrupt your party…. but yes I will certainly be back when all opinions can be fully heard without being bundled on, when people like me are no longer called morons and the passive aggressive laughing emojis stop. This thread has a terrible reputation out there and brings tattle down. JMO.

By all means join and post your theories, people will come back at you and challenge them but that’s the whole point of this thread and that is very much what it was like when the trial was ongoing.

Coming on and posting you think she’s a scapegoat when there is literally mounds of evidence from the enquiry which completely contradicts that is going to be met with harsh responses back because quite frankly, it’s infuriating.

Many times people that come on to post more innocent slanted posts are asked to explain why and what bits of evidence during the main trial makes you think she is innocent and no one replies

The YouTube video I posted from the baby K appeal about the news articles reminded me that one of the reasons the judges didn’t find in her favour was because of ‘fade factor’ where because there was a reporting restriction put in place when the retrial was announced, then 10 months before the trial started, it was expected that most people would have forgotten the general reporting at the time she was convicted so very difficult to conclude the articles prejudiced her trial.

It got me thinking that this is probably relevant to how we are in the position we are in now with the surge of doubters. Many people will have forgotten a lot of the evidence that was reported daily as the trial was ongoing. It’s obviously still available if people want to put the effort in but the majority won’t. Even I forget a lot of the evidence we heard, someone will say something on this thread and I’ll be like ‘oh yeah I forgot that’ (maybe it’s just me )

You’d probably have to sit down and spend a significant amount of time to refresh yourself fully to the extent of what we were understanding during the trial. It was a ten month trial with hundreds of witnesses. All providing a piece of the puzzle. Very easy to see how some cherry picked unchallenged ‘new evidence’ would be difficult for many people to think ‘oh but that was already in the trial so it’s not new’.

I just keep coming back to if your evidence is so strong then why the need for a press conference?

And even then, why hold a press conference before the final reports are done and only summarise 7 of the babies and not all of them?

Why restrict which press you engage with if you are so confident in your findings?

And why have your experts and strategy changed in the 7 weeks since the first conference where you were already asserting miscarriage of justice and new evidence?

Soo many questions. And they won’t want to answer them.

The terrifying thing is, they've duped the public, the comment sections on a lot of the posts about this are nauseating, brain dead morons who have been spoon fed a cherry picked narrative are practically calling for LL to be given a sainthood. I think part of the problem is, the camp who who know full well she's guilty as sin, have no reason to fight anymore as we have the correct verdict, whereas the likes of David Davis and his ilk are fighting tooth and nail to free her, as it will raise their own profile. Truly deplorable and morally devoid. I think there needs to be another press conference, where these new "facts" can be debunked.

Im hoping the police and CPS have reached out to those from the original trial and told them to stay out of the media circus. Especially just in case there is another trial or something.

I just can’t stop thinking about the parents. Their babies are just being used and abused so publicly. All these “experts” now grasping trying to get their hands of medical records they shouldn’t have access to. It’s a very sad and sorry state.

As a tangent to a subject I am interested in - re the number of papers authored to prove expertise several good questions were raised. Someone touched on quality>quantity and this is genuinely a problem in academia (all fields) right now in part due to for profit journals and how funding bodies for research have erred towards quantity over quality. Very much a case of not all peer review is equal. There's an impact factor that can be used instead of # of papers (looks at how many times the author has been quoted by other authors) but if the paper was something everyone then rebutts, it still has a high impact factor. You can often be credited as an author without having done much, if any of the work, if you are a supervisor. And you can pay a fee to have your work published...

I haven't looked into this impassioned(!) defence expert so I have 0 idea of whether any of the above apply I just thought it was interesting how proving expertise can be difficult.

I do think a lot of the difficulty people have with accepting this middle class white beige nurse as a convicted child murderer is down to motive. It's a lot easier to understand a straight forward sexual or financial motive. Myself, I think Letby is a sadist and she was getting off on all the misery (physical and mental, she didn't just kill the babies she did painful things to them and she was inappropriate towards the parents). I think she was probably a cry-bully and manipulative towards all the people in her life for a long time. The family dynamic must be fascinating in a car crash kinda way, I still can't get over how they were allowed so much access and influence to Letby's work meetings.

I'm fed up of seeing posts on FB with people asking would they be happy for her to care for their baby in NNU. Only for people to reply "well I doubt she will want to go back into nursing".
No shit sherlock. There isn't a cat in hell's chance she would be able to work as a nurse again. But the point of the question is being missed. Not a single one of them would have Lucy care for their baby.

It’s a strange coincidence then that the baby had been holding her own at that gestation and with no effective ventilation until the exact moment Letby was alone at the cot side with the alarms paused…
