257 handover sheets is extremely abnormal.
Any normal, non murdering healthcare work will tell you how much they hate accidentally taking home one handover sheets and cannot wait to get rid of it when they go in next.

Whoever pointed out earlier that the case was never just about medical evidence, 💯💯💯 that's the thing the NG people will never acknowledge.

The known facts are that they're was an unexpectedly high number of dead or injured babies, where there did not seem to be a natural explanation (suspicious deaths and collapses). All of these happened when or just after Lucy had been on shift, and the pattern changed from nights when she was on nights to days when she was put on days, and stopped when she was on holiday or taken off the ward. Her defence did not put up any medical experts, even though they had access to them, and in her own testimony she agreed that the insulin babies had been poisoned by someone, but that it wasn't her (notable that these were the first cases the jury convicted her on unanimously - they took longer on others and failed to convict on a few). Plus downright weird behaviour like writing a sympathy card for all three triplets when only two had died, inserting herself into situations with families and babies that weren't hers, stalking parents on Facebook when she claimed she didn't remember them, taking home handover sheets that she should never have had and keeping them through house moves/at her parents. Taking it all together, either a) the ward was phenomenally unlucky, and that run of bad luck only manifested when she was there b) someone else was harming babies - a case that has never been put forward either by the police or by the defence or c) she dunnit.
Oh, and then add in the entire Thirwall enquiry where all the senior management are doing their best to throw the doctors under the bus because they're scared of her parents.
If you're still convinced she's not guilty, you need to come up with a coherent explanation for an alternative hypothesis.

I had to take a break from the Lucy Letby stuff. It is just completely and utterly sole-destroying to see the media and attention-seeking "experts" successfully colluding to make the whole nation think that she is innocent. I cannot even imagine how hard it is for the families. It's literally unbearable.

The comments on the above article about the mother are despicable.

Everyone stupid and ignorant enough to believe this spin deserves to rot in hell alongside their beige heroine.

This publicity stunt is actually the last thing Letby needs to secure her freedom. Her single biggest hope of avoiding future convictions - and all the evidence against her being broadcast, now that the population is finally paying attention - would have been to claim the impossibility of a fair trial. The one comfort I take is this absolutely, definitely won't be happening now! In fact, all the positive press she's had since the New Yorker farticle directly contributed to her leave to appeal for the Baby K conviction being denied.

I wonder if Letby knows this; she has declined to waive client privilege which I think means she doesn't trust Mark McDonald to be her actual barrister in court. They're just mutually enjoying duper's delight by tricking the public - and Letby knows she has no hope in a criminal or appeal court so she's happy to ruin her defense for any future cases against her in order to improve her reputation in prison, especially among staff.

It sickening to think of Letby swanning about in prison with her tail up after all this attention.

This caught my attention today as I was driving into work I heard it on the radio. I’m not going to pretend I know that ins and out of the trial I never really followed it that closely but if this is a miscarriage of justice I feel so sorry for the families that thought they finally had closure. I don’t want to be disparaging to this panel made up of some of the best lawyers and neonatal doctors in the world some of them are leaders of their industry and profession but why didn’t all this come out sooner and this panel can’t be wrong about every single thing they has to be a glimmer of truth to their findings
With respect, I genuinely urge you to actually spend some time reading the wiki, listening to the podcasts/youtube accounts of people that actually attended the 10 month trial (if that’s more your bag) before you “accept” any of the nonsense that is being spouted by “experts”.

The ONLY thing that is disrespectful to the families, is this shit show that is currently playing out in the media.

I must say if I can remove myself from the anger of this, I am really fascinated by the social contagion-type response to this.

How it’s snowballed from the likes of Gill who decided before the trial started there was a statistical problem, the swells of misinformation, the poor journalism, the distrust in courts, police, nhs etc, the likes of MP David Davis using parliamentary privilege to say what he wants even if it’s simply untrue, the strategy of publicity stunts for the new defence, and overall the root cause of all of this I think is because Letby is a ‘pretty’ young white nurse.

But also i think the conspiracy theory element is happening more and more in society. Even the Washington aircraft collision quickly descended into conspiracies when the basic facts so far indicate this was most likely an accident waiting to happen due to the nature of the flight paths that give very little room for error.

I’m over people believing the scapegoat thing. By all means, have your doubt about the medical evidence (and be willing to explain that) but to believe the hospital tried to cover it up to save their skin is the worst opinion to have considering the therwill enquiry is literally just mounds and mounds and mounds of the senior managers trying to protect her and reinstate her on the ward.
it’s actually quite embarrassing to have that opinion when all this information if free to read by a quick google
Me too, you have to be cracked in the head or just plain ignorant to believe she’s a scapegoat at this stage. Go read the inquiry write up ffs. She couldn’t have been more protected. She was more protected than the babies she murdered or the staff who tried to have her stopped.

The people saying they knew she was innocent all along because she never fitted the "profile" as if murderers and serial killers aren't normal people that walk amongst us. If they were easy to spot by looking at them then no one would ever be murdered 😒

Unfortunately people love a conspiracy theory because it's more exciting than the cold hard truth.

Long time lurker, not an expert on the trial but followed it mainly over on websleuths and feel I know enough to pass a comment.

Feel like I’m living in some weird alternative universe where people think she’s innocent, cannot believe my eyes and ears.

I feel awful for the babies families, the jury who convicted and those investigating.

Anyway doesn’t matter how many articles they write or press conferences they have, Letby is going nowhere and will die in prison. I just hope the families can shield themselves from this in some way.

When your key expert has to rewrite his research paper in December 2024 to get his evidence to fit your narrative for the Feb 2025 CCRC application then you are going to be laughed out of court.

I can’t wait to see it.

And that she took the paper home by accident.
and that the initials in her diary were her reflections like all nurses have to do.
And it’s perfectly normal to have your patients blood gas record under your bed.
And everyone stalks the parents of their dead patients on for Facebook for years, don’t you know? Just wanna check they are doing ok x
And everyone gets Lee cooper tracksuits and pyjamas mixed up.
And it’s normal to forget anything that would make you look bad but remember everything that nakes others look bad when you’re so traumatised.

I’m sure they will be along with even more soon.

Unfortunately they are relying on people like yourself who don’t know the ins and outs of the case. The panel can be wrong. There is not a single pathologist for example. Some of us have already pointed out some of the errors in their claims for particular babies. They have also not done reports for all babies, just a few of them. Where’s the rest?

Their claims have not been cross examined either, although many of their claims have already been addressed in court so in some way their evidence has already been rejected. Dr Lee’s in particular.

It sits in your shift bag staring at you accusingly and burns a hole in your pocket all the way to work. It feels like you’ve been cursed until you can put it in the confidential waste, I’m only slightly exaggerating 😅. I couldn’t live with the stress of having hundreds of illegally obtained, confidential documents under my bed. There are people and incidents that stay with you through your career but you would talk about them with colleagues or occ health if it was something traumatic. You can write up an anonymised reflection if there had been a situation you have learned from, good or bad. For your revalidation or for the resources kept on the ward. It is so abnormal to steal and hoard people’s private information, especially if they have died, it’s ghoulish.

The panel of experts have discarded 99% of the evidence and then tried to explain the rest away with their untried theories. So it looks like their is no evidence.
Baby E wasn't included at all ( interestingly he was also left out of the New Yorker) so his unexplained bleed and his mum's testiomy was left out. He wasn't mentioned so the fact that his twin was poisoned after he was murdered wasn't mentioned either.
Baby L ( who was a twin and poisoned with insulin) while his attacked brother nearly died wasn't mentioned by the panel of experts as they don't want to draw attention to the fact Letby liked attacking multiples.
Baby P wasn't included as its very hard to explain why he died just after his brother. The " seeing in the dark" incident was ignored for baby I. All of the pathologist and radiologist evidence was left out as if it didn't exist.

I couldn't help but bite and asked someone defending her in Twitter what evidence would convince them that she did do it. They said the ONLY thing that would convince them is if she confessed and they could be sure it wasn't a forced confession. No amount of evidence otherwise would convince them.

And this is the problem with Truthers, nothing will convince them of anything else. There will always be an excuse or cover up.

I'd say at least with those of us who believe she did do it, I do believe we would change our minds if presented with solid evidence to the contrary.

The whole note being on the "advice of a therapist" why wasn't this mentioned in the defence then ? I'll tell you why, because it wasn't on the advice of the therapist, surely she'd want her therapist to take the stand to back her up. Considering she was such a paper "hoarder" she only ever seemed to hoard things relating to her job, over 200 handover sheets, nevermind fishing out baby notes from the confidential wastebin !!!
the proven facts of her texting constantly, so much so that the time stamps on her messages and the baby feed chart show she could not have fed at the usual flow rate whilst sending all of these messages.
The list goes on. It's funny how the ringleaders of her cult are the biggest contrarians going, needing to go against the grain any which way possible in order to get attention.

He’d be torn to shreds for his ‘impartiality’ going to the press and saying stuff like this 🤣🤣

“I think if someone is innocent and they are in jail, they should be let out as soon as possible. It is wrong to keep someone in jail who hasn’t done a crime.

“That is just common sense. But I also understand there is a [legal] process. If they tell me it takes 15 years to get to appeal, that is too long. She has already spent several years in jail. It would seem reasonable [to release her]. There is [the option] of house arrest.”
He's making himself look like an absolute idiot. Does he think a panel of hand picked experts chosen to find Letby innocent is going to cancel out two trials, 10 months of prosecution evidence and the testimonies of the people that were actually there, like the parents and the consultants. The absolute gall of this man.
