The role of the expert witnesses sounds like they are suggesting Dewi Evans wasn't up to it and it should go back to appeal courts. However four judges have already decided Dewi Evans's evidence should stand. How many appeal court judges are they? Do they want them all to listen to their argument until they find one that agrees with them?

isn’t it 7 judges? Justice Goss decided Evans evidence should stand but did advise jury they could choose to disregard it. Then the 3 judges of the first appeal decided the same. And then the second appeal were a further 3 judges that were different to the first 3.

Your last question is an absolute yes. Even if they wanted best of 3, they already lost!

I’ve put parliament tv on. It’s still children’s well-being and schools bill. But there aren’t many there. They seem to speak for 4 mins and once they have their say they are leaving.

Have they gone to the canteen to have a cup of tea so they are all refreshed for the Letby debate? Or are they going home?

(genuinely don’t know if they are due to comeback but if they are going home already it doesn’t bode well for a post 7pm debate.)

I’ve seen some pretty poor turn outs for some topics. I assume some were adjournment debates. I think the Letby crowd are in for a disappointing evening! And I can’t wait

It's actually 8 I think. As the single judge Sir Robin Spencer refused her first appeal before it went on to a full hearing. It could even be 9 - I don't know if a single judge heard her appeal for Baby K prior to the full hearing.

He probably won't be totally alone, unfortunately. He'll probably have got one or two to come and make supportive comments as a favour.

But generally debates at this late hour aren't popular, and I imagine one in support of a convicted serial killer of babies is slightly less popular than the average adjournment debate.

It's actually 8 I think. As the single judge Sir Robin Spencer refused her first appeal before it went on to a full hearing. It could even be 9 - I don't know if a single judge heard her appeal for Baby K prior to the full hearing.

I wasn’t sure if the single judge for the first permission to appeal hearing was Goss as I remember following other cases (not sure if they were civil though) where they go back to the original judge first. I hadn’t heard Sir Robins name so if that’s right then it must be 8 judges

The house is quite full now but they have the vote taking place in a few mins.
