Any appeal for Letby would be based on creating a confused enough picture to create reasonable doubt. That is a million miles away from innocence.

This is exactly what they hope to achieve. There is no way on earth Letby could ever be cleared because there is so much evidence against her. Their only hope is to confuse with further experts casting doubt on the collapses and testing done. Where would that leave everything?

There is no overarching theory as to Letbys innocence. Was COC that bad? Were the drs bad at their jobs? Was it a big cover up, was it pathogens? Poo leaking everywhere?

Literally none of the reasons hold up to any sort of scrutiny whatsoever.
With or without input from witnesses for the defence unless some serious misconduct from the prosecution is uncovered I don't believe a jury will ever again be asked to weigh all the evidence that currently exists - so McDonald's 50 experts are wasting their own time. Something completely new is going to need to be found - such as was found for Sally Clarke. I don't see how you do that for 15 convictions that have already been confirmed by the courts.

it’s nearly done. I wonder why such a huge gap between evidence and closing speeches. Is it to allow the legal teams to process the evidence? Also wonder if they will televise it like the opening ones.

He’s obsessed with Deb Roberts because she dares to challenge him when he hasn’t done his homework. Ironic that he complains about his perceived principles of free speech then blocks and bullies when he’s challenged on facts and details on a SM platform..
It is also laughable that he complains about his (incorrectly) perceived view that he can’t write about Letby if there are more charges. Meanwhile the Police and CPS have to follow strict guidelines and laws to protect the justice process that he claims he is a defender of, yet these rules don't apply to him as a journo and he can "almost" write what the hell he wants unchallenged. Now he has stepped over the "almost" line and had a metaphorical clip round the ear, he's whining like a spoilt kid about his rights. For some reason thinks he’s a champion of the people and defender of the justice process. Ironically he has also been writing about how weak the Police are recently, yet here he is moaning they are being heavy handed with him.
He is full of double standards and you don’t have to read much of his work to see the repeated inconsistencies in his principles and views. He’s basically just spewing out as much content as possible for clicks behind his paywall. This pathetic high brow pretence that he doesn’t have a view on Letby's innocence but doesn’t think she had a fair trial is also BS. Ponder this. He is clearly flying some sort of anti establishment flag on this one. He is, paraphrasing his words, not fighting to prove Letby innocent but fighting for a re-trial because he believes she didn't reach the threshold for "beyond reasonable doubt". So, that means, under current British Law, NOT GUILTY. He is trying to disassociate a Not Guilty verdict with guilt or innocence. He is therefore in essence admitting that he is fighting to uphold the establishments definition of justice, not the moral definition of justice, ie criminals get caught, do the time etc. So he's fighting the establishment to uphold an establishment principle. He is also by default saying he doesn't really care whether Letby is guilty or innocent or care if the victims of the crimes get justice.

.....whilst I'm venting there's another thing I need to get off my chest.....
Posts from various Letby supporters saying things like:
"If I were a parent Id just want the truth" ....or "If I were a parent Id be thinking X, Y, Z", or " the parents deserve the truth"

This demonstrates a total and utter lack of understanding and empathy about victims of crime in general going through the appeal courts. If a very complex CCRC review created a scenario where the Appeal courts heard cases and reasonable doubt were brought in any or all of the cases then why on earth do people think this would "answer questions" or bring "the truth"? What an utterly ludicrous and brainless conclusion to reach. The Trial and Thirlwall Inquiry has proved a number of things beyond reasonable doubt

- Almost nobody looking at the death and collapses was working with a full picture and almost every report had different outcomes
- Circumstances around deaths were manipulated to direct the reports away from harm
- Some collapses weren't investigated at all at the time
- Many were badly followed up
- Even after forensic review, no medical reasons could be proven in multiple cases, despite what Adams, Vinuesa, etc dream up as causes.

Any appeal for Letby would be based on creating a confused enough picture to create reasonable doubt. That is a million miles away from innocence. It might make her "not guilty". How on earth do these people think that the parents will react? They seem to think they will suddenly go "Well that's cleared that up. That poor girl who searched me on facebook was actually a wonderful nurse after all. We may be even more confused about how or why our babies died and we will never know now because the whole thing is an utter tit show but lets have Lucy and John and Susan round for tea and maybe get toxic Chris round and that Hitchens chap because they are the REAL victims in all this"

Im going for a lie down
Hitchens is a joke. Deb Robert’s nails his colours to the mast every time. He’s at pains to find out who she is lol! I mean, she can’t be just a lowly female right? 😂

Poor, clueless, misinformed Hitchens 🥲 What a mysogonistic cant he is.

He's made a right twit of himself today, some guy has posted something about in an appeal the burden of proof of innocence would be on Letby and Myers rather than BNE to prove her guilt and looks as though he didn't even know that! And then another one has come along posting all these memes which I found really funny!

Yes. How does he (or anyone) not know that it’s down to Letby and her defence to provide the necessary evidence to get her an appeal hearing? It’s totally bonkers! 😜

Ooh I haven’t seen the memes. I’m off to Twitter. Thanks 😂

She asked repeatedly if the police still had the nutritional bags in interview iirc she “ taunted “ them according to the prosecution, but still DE and SB had seen the lab tests and most importantly seen them independently.
She agreed herself someone was adding insulin just it wasn’t her.
They all need to get in the bin.
Yes!!!! She did indeed and they were able to narrow the time frame to when it was added - and guess who was on duty at that time 😏

Here we go again. Wonder what this twit is planning.
Does this mean he's shown the case notes to all his mates and is now going to summarise what they said caused the baby's collapses.

Does the CCRC, work like the court in that new evidence should be kept confidential? Can they offer a retrial because new potential defence witnesses have been found or does it have to be new evidence?

After the Andrew Malkinson debacle I think his aim is to shame the under-fire CCRC to refer the cases back to the Appeal courts. Booking a room at this venue makes it seem more credible.

My understanding is if Letby was to be allowed "another go" at challenging the medical evidence using different experts it would be something that has never been allowed for anyone else but I don't think it's impossible that it can be done.

Unless he’s announcing they have actually applied to CCRC then this is nothing more than stirring up the general public again with a load of selective misinformation. The support for Letby definitely plateaued over the last couple of months.

Would this not be similar to the first appeal where in that, there was an expert about the rash who wasn’t called during the first trial.

It would have to be something the prosecution completely missed to be considered as “new” evidence or something wrong in the legal process. They can’t just simply keep throwing new “experts” at the evidence and hope for an alternative outcome - the defence did have medical experts but none that would confidently rule out deliberate harm. When you add all the other evidence against her, with potential further charges, it’s not looking good…

Your right, he’s making noise to drum up the support as she’s likely to be charged again so then he can’t speak…

Also it’s very rushed as wasn’t it last weekend or the week before that the 50 or was it 100 met - can’t keep track at the minute with the claims…

And if any new evidence “has” been found then it would be going through the correct channels not a bloody press conference 🤦‍♀️ and announced through the supporters on X…

Just shows the difference from a Barrister to a KC, Ben Myers would never! Also BNE wouldn’t dream of it - this looks like the Jeremy Kyle school of lawyers she’s got

Am I right in thinking that when Letby is charged with more crimes, there will be tighter media restrictions again? Maybe he is trying to drum up a bit of publicity whilst he can. I'm not sure for what purpose.

Do we know anything about her being charged with more offences? I’m not that optimistic about it tbh. The last trial finished beginning of July & they’ve been investigating for 7.5years.

Mark McDonald represented Dr Charlotte Proudman in her disciplinary case before the Bar Standards Board. She was successful & it’s been quite high profile. I was surprised he washer choice. Maybe he’s an anti authority type.

The police have interviewed her on new cases with charges likely to follow in the New year.

So there's a crowd funder for Lucy set up, which has raised £5000. However what is written is misleading. Yes there was a potential issue with the taps but only two babies showed any evidence of infection. Also the unit was not receiving severly ill preterm babies, most were doing well before they had the misfortune to meet Letby. Surely this is raising money through false pretences.

Is that the Edward Abel Smith married to Kate Winslet, who formerly called himself Ned RocknRoll?

Someone anonymous donated £1000.
What is the money going towards? I thought initially it was towards his podcast but the crowdfunder page doesn’t actually say anything about where the money is going. £5000 in legal costs is not going to last long!

I think there's another one whose a writer.

There are six episodes on YouTube called " was there even a crime" they are obsessed with sewage and convinced they know more than Dewi Evans.
