That brought tears to my eyes 😭

It’s a striking contrast in the middle of all the other ‘witnesses’ this week. Someone who actually put the immediate safety of a baby first.

Looks like he was already a superhero

99% sure he was at the Inquiry today (came in late this afternoon). Me and a friend spoke to him very briefly, but didn't realise that was him 😭

Edit - just text friend and showed her a photo, and she said yes that was definitely him ♥ gutted I didn't get to thank him now (and on behalf of tattle) ha x

Just caught up on the latest DM podcasts and bleeping hell I nearly threw my saucepan of dinner at the wall in fury. Bunch of self serving bleeps.

Did he look nearly ten years older? What did he say?

Also how did Ian Harvey come across?

I really don’t think any of the indictment twins went to AP and came back again. I’m sure the ones that did were single births.

I think there were non indictment twins where one died and one went to Arrow Park.

Tony Chambers comes across as an arrogant t*at he's constantly talking over the barristers and not answering the questions. Hes not very humble.

Today’s transcript is up. I’m so behind I’ve jumped straight to IH.

Look at this… the paediatricians actually complained formally to GMC about him. But no further action taken 🙄

He’s definitely done his homework this week. He’s mentioned TC use of the word clumsy and seems he was prepared for the question about reputation on the risk register. Seems he’s found a new definition for it which includes safety and quality of care.

Actually don’t know if I’m wasting my time.
It’s just a copy and paste of responses. They are all cut from the same cloth. I think IH might just be more skilled at answering the questions.

X didn’t tell me. I relied on X. I can’t recall. Nobody else did either.

Wasn't Dr Oliver Rackham the doctor from Liverpool Women's hospital who tried to save baby P and according to Dr Noname was singing Letbys praises (probs never happened). It will interesting to hear from him.
oh my word Oliver Rackham was heavily involved in my baby’s care. I really rated him.

A lot of them say "potentially" a lot. LL also used it as a way of trying to wriggle off the hook.

Looks as though they have that in common. I can't bear that word anymore. It just sounds slimy.

It's like TC and IH thought they needed cast iron proof of foul play before they would act. They didn't. They just needed to remove Letby, let the police investigate and ignore her parents.

The death rate in that NNU was so off the charts high, that I'm surprised nobody stepped in and closed it.

Quick thoughts before today starts:

Tony Chambers is an absolute abomination. I honesty think he has diagnosable narcissistic personality disorder. Coming straight afterwards, Ian Harvey was bound to look sympathetic by simply being normal!

I think Ian Harvey has studied Tony Chambers and Alison Kelly and learned how to not look like a total bleep. Hence giving a half-decent apology, trying to answer questions directly, not pretending he was too important to do his own job etc.

But he had his moments. Twice he rudely refused point blank to give any answer, Letby style. There was also a lot of I don’t recalls, and pretending to not answer the questions.

He was happily launching the consultants under the bus for missing the insulin babies, and for not telling him about Baby K.

He stubbornly refused to listen to the barristers point that all the reviews they commissioned were categorically not designed and not likely to find wrongdoing.

Ian Harvey stubbornly kept saying that the reviews should have found *something*. He kept saying ut should have found the insulin babies - missing the point that as non-forensic investigations the reviews were limited to things that were known about. The insulin victims didn’t even collapse! No wonder they weren’t reviewed.

And the little that the reviews did find (like Jane Hawdon saying four babies needed forensic investigation), he still treated it as no evidence of Lucy doing harm.

I wasn’t sure if Ian Harvey is truly as ignorant as he seems (bearing in mind he was a surgeon!) or cleverly putting on a realistic show of ignorance.

But a lady who knows him sitting next to me has just confirmed Ian Harvey is a nasty arrogant wick who is just making himself look good. So I suspect he’s just very good at answering the questions and making himself look as reasonable as possible. He’s much more intelligent than the other bleeps.

The three insulin babies slipped under the net for a long time. I don't think Dr Hawdon was even given their notes.

You've just done these people's jobs better than they did...get this Tattler a £130k salary and NHS pension!

I sincerely hope that one of the recommendations that comes out of this enquiry is that HR procedures and other internal processes shouldn't involve or pander to the parents of the person at the centre of it, when they are a grown adult  Yes, people do need independent support and advocates if they are doing through these things, but bringing your dad in to shout at people in person and on the phone and your mum to cry and read out whiny statement should have been seen as unacceptable.

This should be standard anyway. Even if she was innocent, she should have been encouraged to rely on her support system outside of work yes. But no way should they cross the line and actually get involved. How mortifying.

I agree. IH in all the documentary evidence and others verbal evidence comes across as a grade A bleep. Because he is. Tony Nigel Chambers is a cognitively challenged, egotistical Grade A bleep (and Smelly Kelly seemed be suffering from a bit of brain fog too), but Harvey is a calculated Grade A bleep. He is just a better communicator verbally than the others - anyone who can order 'all emails to cease' about people whistleblowing a serial killer is a fool. I have had 28 jobs in my time from working in Superdrug to a Band 8a in the NHS and nobody, customer, colleague or stakeholder has ever told me to 'cease'. It's a terrible thing to order and very unprofessional.
---
I truly do not understand why they all just uncritically accepted the involvement of Mummy and Daddy Letby. HR and the unions should have been waving those red flags all over the place that it's not normal. There's clear enmeshment going on it that family and it would make me back off, anyone who lets their parents get involved in their work life to that level has not got a healthy psychological landscape and has most likely got an arrested development. It's totally bonkers how they all fell for it. The Letby's being disappointed and challenging the Chief Exec that their letter didn't get read out in the Board meeting is saying how ducked up they and their serial killer daughter really are.
