Yep, it's giving hard-faced. The lack of respect for the consultants is shocking. Doesn't sound very collegiate and it's terrible to think she was fostering an "us and them" culture with her nursing staff.
I am sick of hearing "we weren't thinking the unthinkable". It sounds so ridiculously naive given the constant news story about people in positions of power harming others. And anyone who knows anything about Allitt and Shipman should know better. Is there no training for doctors and nurses about warning signs of abuse or harm of vulnerable people? I am sure there is. They will all know about safeguarding.
The moving her to day shifts is one of the worst decisions they could have made. It strikes me as a kind of experiment putting lives at risk.

Of course she’d deny it. She’s hardly going to hold her hands up and admit it is she? She knows what she did and like Letby I suspect her tears are only for herself.
What gets to me is that there is zero remorse for all those lost little lives, and no reflection or insight on the part of Powell. She is a ghastly woman.

She absolutely loves Letby and cannot hear anything bad said about Letby in any context whatsoever. Letby is always innocent of any wrongdoing in any situation and when she is proven to have done something wrong it's deflected.
