What is clear is that the first organisation to have any real desire to understand what happened to these babies was Cheshire Police

Absolute flabbergasted about how clear the local guidance was for sudden unexpected death of children even in hospital. It was absolutely obvious what they should have done 😣
there was even a bloody flowchart!
---
You have to wonder if this will become criminal negligence given it seems there are policies in place to investigate unexpected child deaths and they just didn’t follow it.

This paragraph from one of the opening statements for the families is incredibly powerful and should give all those who speculate about Letby being innocent pause for thought (although I’m not naive enough to believe it will)

I had 2 babies in neonatal unit. Both born at 32 weeks. One stronger than the other due to steroid injections in pregnancy to boost baby's lungs. Baby that didn't have benefit of steroids in pregnancy had sleep apnoea. With care and attention from medical team both babies are alive and well 30 yrs later. We were told when they born they were just growing outside the womb with help from medical team. Never were they expected to die. Just to be kept warm and fed and one without steroid help bit of help with breathing. She is one sick person and my heart goes out to the parents of the babies as when you are in that situation you put the life of your baby in their hands 💔💔

Afternoon fellas, happy Thirlwall Eve- our friend Richard is being as charming as ever.....
---

This sort of BS is causing witnesses from the Letby trial to be attacked in the street. These nutters need locking up
hi Richard, I’m wondering if there is any statistical correlation between attending the trial as a member of the jury, and finding her guilty.

You misogynistic prick.

Just reading some of the documents. The relationship between the nurses and doctors is outrageous. It says Karen Rees observed senior nurses refusing to answer the phone to a certain consultant because of the allegations they were making about Letby. What the actual fuck? It’s becoming clearer every day why she felt like she could do what the fuck she wanted and not be held accountable.

So I've finally had a chance to settle in for a listen to the CSTC reading of the unreleased police interviews.
3 mins in & we have from her own mouth that she had written the notes off her own bat. That the only person she had sought any help for her anxiety from was her own GP. Who prescribed "just some anti-depressants"
She denies that she had any form of counselling prior to penning the notes, let alone asserting that she had written them on the advice of a pratcitioner or under circumstances which call for therapist patient confidentiality.

They are so full of just plain inaccurate shit and far too few people are calling them out for it.

I wonder if Letby is allowed to listen in to the inquiry ?

This is stood out for me this morning from one of the Drs on the unit.
She did consider whether insulin could have been delivered deliberately: “but this seemed absurd and ridiculously unlikely so the tests being wrong seemed the only possible explanation.”
She added inn her police statement that: “with hindsight I should have flagged up this unexpected result.”

Imagine that poor Dr is going to have to live with that forever, what if she had raised it she could have been stopped earlier.

A little more from child E&F's mother here

Also child G's parents only learnt that Letby was responsible for her brain damage during the trial ☹

Article regarding today’s evidence. Mother L&M has made a complaint to PALS against Dr U (the artist formally known as Dr A/aka Noname??) for using Facebook messenger to discuss their baby 😯 good on them.

I cannot believe how long it took the Nursing & Midwife Council to get the interim order against her. For those not following live, they believed that her bail conditions stopped her from working in a health care setting, but her bail conditions only stopped her working with babies and children. It was only when they realised that this wasn’t the case that they tried to intervene. But they couldn’t get one out against her because she hadn’t been charged.

Three years after the initial death, the NMC requested documents from the Trust in regards to evidence against Letby and the Trust refused! They only got the interim order against her when she was formally charged.

So much red tape and bureaucracy!

Wow… I’ve yet to go back to the start - I’ve just dipped into the latest bit of the live reporting. So LL wrote a very smug and entitled email to her colleagues saying she’d been fully exonerated after the grievance was upheld

this is her:

"I have received a full apology from the trust... I will begin making my return to the unit in the coming weeks.”

Hospital management were aware of the email, the inquiry hears.
>>>>>
This bit says it all
However, Ms Langdale says: “The inquiry has not seen any evidence to suggest that anyone at the hospital responded to Letby’s email to correct her and to clarify that she had in fact not been investigated at all, let alone exonerated.”

Everyone was tiptoeing round her. They even had a f-ing tea party for her to welcome her back to the NNU 🫣in which she lorded it over them and made the nurses on the unit feel uncomfortable🤬
Does this confidence she has tally up with the notes she wrote saying she was evil and did it on purpose and would never have a normal life 🧐 supposedly she was under extreme distress and that’s why she wrote it yet she seems confident to the point of smug 👀

also god bless this lady for speaking for three thousand hours straight. My husband will think she’s a relation of mine 😅

The Guardian are also reporting live:

Thirlwall told the inquiry that doubts cast on Letby’s convictions have come “entirely from people who were not at the trial” as she opened the inquiry at the Countess of Chester hospital’s neonatal unit where Letby was a nurse between 2015 and 2016.

Lucy Letby: inquiry begins as chair says comment on convictions ‘has caused enormous stress for parents’ – live | Lucy Letby | The Guardian

Maybe they'll stop giving those people airtime in future then...but probably not!
