Who does Hammond actually think he is? I'm actually embarrassed for him reading that letter. He even states it is outside of Lady Thirlwall's remit yet has still sent it to her. Hopefully she won't even bother to read it seeing as she is rather busy at the moment. 🙄

There is very little mention of the Thirlwall enquiry on mumsnet. However it doesn't really fit with the narrative that Lucy was scapegoat to detract from plumbering problems and there doesn't appear to lots of deaths where Letby had no involvement.

This is dark but I'm really stuck on the thought of what the hell she was doing to Baby K today.

Because I was thinking about it, and she'd dislodged the tube and was watching the baby desaturate and basically struggle to breathe and die right in front of her. We don't know what she'd have done next if Dr Jayaram hadn't intervened. We don't know if it was a murder attempt or just evil control that she'd have put right. She wasn't calling for help and had even silenced the alarm, but I also think it would have looked far too suspicious if they got back to find baby had passed in her care, so would she have stepped in and righted the tube after a few more seconds? And honestly it made me wonder how many more times she's done something to interfere with a baby and watch it suffer for a little while. Nobody will ever know. It's knocked me sick thinking about it and I now feel desperately sorry for any parent who ever had a baby in that unit, even if there was never any evidence their baby came to harm and they went home with healthy babies. Even Hummingbird aside, there could be totally unknown victims. Sorry, I know this is extremely horrible.

I had 2 babies in neonatal unit. Both born at 32 weeks. One stronger than the other due to steroid injections in pregnancy to boost baby's lungs. Baby that didn't have benefit of steroids in pregnancy had sleep apnoea. With care and attention from medical team both babies are alive and well 30 yrs later. We were told when they born they were just growing outside the womb with help from medical team. Never were they expected to die. Just to be kept warm and fed and one without steroid help bit of help with breathing. She is one sick person and my heart goes out to the parents of the babies as when you are in that situation you put the life of your baby in their hands 💔💔

Dewi Evans said when he reviewed other baby's notes there was a very lot of dislodged breathing tubes, far more than would be expected.

This case is very dark. People are taken in by pictures of the smiling young nurse with teddies on her bed. They don't think she would fill syringes with air and then violently ram it down feeding tubes, knowing full well it's likely to kill the baby and devastated the parents. Or deliberately cause a bleed in a baby with known clotting problems. The cruelty in these cases is overwhelming.

It’s awful, on the opening day in court the tubes were shown & how intubation is done & the tube on one occasion was found to be 1 cm further in so she was pushing it in on one occasion not just dislodging it - pure evil

It’s the same person. The appeal judgement and inquiry are using Dr U now. I’m guessing to separate him from baby A.

I think there was Dr V, Dr W too in the appeal judgement.
Thank you so much for that 🙏❤

I think you're right, part of her wanted to he a hero, alarms going, all hands on deck, didn't one of the medics share that they were pleased she was around for collapses as she was so competent?
But aside from all those we know about, she absolutely would have been torturing babies just for kicks, watching them struggle and then moving on because she's an evil bleep.

Please could someone post the link to live reporting. I can't find it on IPlayer. I've watched the last two days thanks to links being posted on here. Thank you if you can help.

I’ve just been looking for it but can’t find it. I wonder if it’s not going ahead today or just this morning because it’s the counsel for the families.

Some slight criticism from the families against the consultants

Does the reporter mean to say Eirian Powell? Or maybe Karen Rees.

Oh yeah it’s meant to be Eirian, which I agree with. I think everybody listened to her opinion too much

Independent seem to be providing the most comprehensive updates. I won’t keep posting them all as I’ll clog the thread but final, special mention go to the Lucy Letby Fan Club

Skelton is really criticising the management and has said the consultants were courageous and shouldn't have been put in the position they were. After listening to the live streaming over the last two days I've been astounded at the total support she received from Eireen Powell. She was so blinkered for the whole time sbout what the consultants were saying. They were talking about it in other hospitals "have you heard about Chester". You would have thought she would have opened her mind to the possibility of truth in the consultants worries.
