Quick Q for the legal beagles - can Letby appeal this conviction as well, like she did the last ones?

Myers will deffo try. He’s clearly raging at johnson for mentioning the longline snapping (even tho he brought that baby up in the first place)

It won’t go anywhere though.

I really feel like it’s over. TWO separate juries have found her guilty now. The conviction is safe.

Also that Goss said she will have to be there for sentencing.

The ‘fresh evidence’ ground was so incredibly weak, down to a single issue and the evidence must be considered in its totality. This explains it well but is so heartbreaking to see it again

Maybe you should have put me on mute 18 months ago? I haven’t actually responded directly to your post at all so why bother getting your knickers in a twist? I don’t think you’d have liked what I really wanted to say which is that if you’re going to act like you have special superior unpopular opinions about some of the cases maybe you should get your facts straight before you say imo crass things like they tacked on baby H’s “death” when she didn’t die so clearly you maybe don’t know as much as you thought? Like all those police officers and the CPS worked tirelessly to build cases and just thought for no reason “let’s do the hospital a little favour and shove in some cases cos it “makes no difference” as you suggest. You can have your opinion as you have now repeatedly and I can say why I think it’s ridiculous. It’s not personal.

Honestly these people can make as much noise as they like. I take comfort in the fact she’s never getting out of jail, not ever. Anyone with half a brain can see she’s guilty of everything she’s accused of and more. Fuck them. She’s going to rot no matter how loud they shout, and it’s what she fucking deserves.

I also found him last year after hearing his name in court. At the time I thought what did she see in him. Was it a nurse/doctor thing. Also saw the birthday cake etc. back then. Everyone must know about them in his workplaces and where he lives which he'll have to live with now.

He also has to live with the fact that he told Letby he would trust her with his own children. What must his wife think about that.

I know this isn’t a popular opinion here but I’ve thought all along that while she’s guilty of some of the deaths, some seem to have been “tacked on” purely because she was there when it seems more likely it was the negligence at CoC that caused those. I still think this and the guardian article with the disagreement of some experts reinforces my opinion.

Not full blown conspiracy she was framed, but thinking about it in terms of - she was going to get a whole life sentence so it makes no practical difference to her and if they link the death to her than regardless of result, it takes the heat off CoC a bit as the public will largely believe she did it whether convicted or not.

She was there for all of the deaths on the unit from June 2015 - June 2016. 13 deaths in total, she was only charged with 7 of these, what about the other 6 deaths she was present at? It’s wild to think they just “tacked on” a few deaths to bolster the charge sheet

My heart breaks for baby Ks family, I just cannot even comprehend how they must feel. The pain and grief being dragged out for such a long time, the impact it has on them and will continue to have. Having to tell their other children what happened to their sister. You just can’t imagine it and I hope no one else ever has to endure this cruelty again

The authors of these articles and contributors wouldn't be saying these things if their loved ones were the victims. I feel very angry and frustrated reading these different reports. It must be terrible for the families who have been through years of hell and finally got justice and closure and then be faced with all these people trying to undermine things.

If there was no spreadsheet, they would all be saying ‘but how do we know it wasn’t someone else working the same shift patterns as Letby’

Surely the absolute basis of an investigation is to find out who was there and who wasn’t.
