Very interesting conversation today about Letby with a nurse who had a lot of contact with her in P’Boro prison before she was charged and sent to Bronzefield. She said that even the prison officers working closely with Letby believed she was innocent and wouldn’t get charged for it! Apparently she’s very quiet, very polite…. I found it very intriguing that she seems to fool people so easily….
Similarities to Shipman there then. Quiet and polite would be how he was described as well.
First time posting on this thread as I find it hard to keep up with but I just wanted to say my opinion on why I think people think she’s innocent.
I think it’s more about being in denial, not wanting to believe it, if LL could do this being so normal and having a nice upbringing, it means it could happen close to home, it could be your friend, your kids, family member even partner. I think with LL it really brings home that not all evil murderers have a look or a history, it could be anyone close to you which is quite a scary thought.

I didn’t know she went to prison before she was charged? I thought she was arrested 3 times, and bailed after the first two arrests. on the 3rd time after she was officially charged she was put on remand ??

I wonder what her parents are having to do in terms of their living arrangements. I read they moved to be near her, but what if she’s moved again? I think i would sooner move to somewhere sunny where my surname isn’t tied to a serial killer - but assume they can’t do that at their age!
Me too. It’s unfortunate for them that they have an unusual surname.
Let’s me honest shes quite different from the other women they see most days. What percentage of them have degrees or have had a job like hers?
People always struggle to believe respectable seemingly normal people can be monsters, especially women.
Of course she’s quiet and polite, she kills vulnerable, new born babies. She’s not been convicted of raging, violent stabbings (for example) has she? She’s pathetic and weak and used innocent, helpless, defenceless babies to get her kicks. As someone else said, anyone genuinely innocent would surely not be quiet in that scenario? I’d be screaming day in day out about my innocence I’d be traumatised from the whole thing! She was simply putting on her “nice Lucy” act, probably feeling smug that if she’d convinced them she’d be able to convince the jury too.
She’s a coward. Only targets defenceless victims.
