I wonder why Mike Hall wasn't called for the defence. He worked at a level 3 NNU for 35 years. He's very experienced. Surely he's better to call up than the plumber?

BNE Cross examining a plumber about a blocked sink wasn't going to harm Lucy's defence. Dr Hall probably agrees with a lot of the prosecution medical evidence. He's being paid now by journalists to offer an opinion that suggests she maybe innocent. There's a lot of evidence and the Not guilty people like to focus on one bit at a time.

I think I’m going to take a leaf out of @MmmB777 book and stop reading these bull tit articles, because they just make me angry.

Fact is, it’s really easy to make a convincing argument when you only present one side of the evidence which is what has happened in this guardian article. Unfortunately for this so called journalist, when you look at the evidence critically and present both sides, your argument doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Any journalist that is willing to publish half a story has zero integrity. duck them, they should honestly be embarrassed.
I feel you. I’ve just logged out of Twitter ( not just closed the app, fully logged out )
I’m bleeping fuming here and it’s ruined my evening. My entire home page is full of imbeciles …who know Jack tit and didn’t follow any of the trial… banging on about these two in-depth articles (guardian and telegraph) and how “change is coming” and it’s inevitable she will be granted a mistrial.
I’m so bleeping tired, so god knows how the parents feel.
One of the tweets was some old boy saying “my gut feeling is she’s innocent and a scapegoat for the nhs”
Gut feeling? You think she deserves a retrial cause you have a gut bleeping feeling based on a newspaper article reporting half the story??
I’m so angry I could chin someone

By normal they mean white, blonde, not a complete hunter (arguable)
How anyone is saying she’s normal is beyond me at this point
At 25 years of age her best mates were older women, who most likely were befriended as they’d find her stupid, childish and immature ways endearing opposed to her peers who’d think this teddy loving adult was a bleeping weirdo
She stood in that hospital and took herself down to A&E because of a pin wick on her finger
She hounded a family as their baby died after she murdered said baby
She went about her day masquerading as poor sweet Lucy then went home and wrote post it notes that look like they’ve come out of Ashworths Xmas card collection
She stuck her hand in a bin for a handover sheet
Stood about on her phone for hours despite being so devoted googling families who’d lost their child through her actions
She’ll stand up in court arguing the most stupid things, lying through her teeth then having the sheer audacity to blame her traumatised colleagues all for the sake of saving face
She doesn’t shed a tear for those babies, the anguish and horror that the families detailed in impact statements and not a bleepin flinch
Aside from the post it’s and the murders - Just the Facebook stalking, the professional victimhood, poor sweet Lucy facade, the forced apologies from doctors with genuine concerns, the grassing and snaking on her colleagues makes her one unlikable sly conniving bleep

I’m so sick of hearing “so normal!” These people aren’t bleepin normal, she just doesn’t look like what your brain tells you a murderer will look like
If a photo was posted of a scruffy unkept woman with a roll up hanging out her mouth or a black man in a durag no one would be givin it “they must be innocent they look normal”

Can't believe defending her but she had a needle stick injury and hospital policy is to go to occupational health or A&E. I've had to go to A&E when I had a needle stick injury. It's so ridiculous and a waste of resources.

Just popping back in to say I am absolutely raging at these new articles filled with utter lies. I have an assignment to complete before tomorrow midnight, and after that I will be formally complaining about them. (Including the one lying about the court watchers: the exaggerating of the prominence of the NGs was intended to bolster the claims of the “elephant in the room”, ie the doubts about Letby’s guilt)

It's disgusting that the Guardian hack is paying lip service to the families – who have stated how offensive and hurtful these articles are – while still doing the very thing that upsets them so much.

The experts quoted are sick egotistical ducks. Michael Hall is raging about not being given his time to shine on the stand. The defense did use him: how does think Ben Myers, who has no medical background, gained the medical knowledge to cross examine the prosecutions’ witnesses? From him. That was his purpose for the defense. He wasn’t guaranteed a chance to take the stand and the defense don’t have to tell him why they didn’t use him. If they didn’t call him, it is almost certainly because his testimony would have done Letby more harm than good.

Letby herself retained her legal team from last year (who she controls, they can only advise her), so she certainly was not unhappy that Hall didn’t give his tuppence worth.

The prosecution actually did not use statistics. At all. Let alone “heavily rely” on it. (The fact she was there for every event is not statistics lol. That’s just ruling out who was there and who was not for each event.) This is the very reason Richard Gill is so enraged: he has absolutely nothing to refute. There is no way for him to become involved. So he has simply fabricated what he wishes had been a part of the prosecution’s case for him to challenge. This lie is being repeated so much it has become the truth in the public’s mind, as is the lie that there were deaths she wasn’t there for.

Notice how the journalist sneakily says “the jury weren’t told of the six other deaths on the ward” – without saying it, she’s leading the reader to believe that Letby wasn’t there, without the journalist actually saying it, so she’s technically not lying.

The defense calling the services of a statistician despite the prosecution not using it suggests they were hoping to find some statistics showing that Letby’s constant presence could easily be a matter of chance – and didn’t find any.

The doctor giving her opinion without having access to ANY of the evidence – just the meagre snippets that came through from live reporting – is despicable. How arrogant is she that she thinks she’s entitled to publicly support a serial baby killer, just from reading a couple of newspaper articles.

This became a long rant, I need to get back to cramming for my assignment >.<

Think all the Letby deniers need a little bit of Matalan lovin, then they can take themselves salsa dancing with their tiny boy 😗

I just nearly choked on a ginger biscuit. Nurse! (Not you Letby)
I'm fine now. I just have some ginger biscuit in my nasal cavity.🤧

Also, Chester Constabulary advertised again for secondment posts for more detectives and FLOs. The closing date was last month and the ad stated the post is expected to last up to three years. That's until 2027. The budget has obviously been approved for these posts already. That would not happen unless there was a solid line of investigation.
There are clearly more victims and more families of victims to support.

Coincidence, my a. That's bleeping outrageous. And crappy, lazy journalism done without even the tiniest bit of research.

Here's the bit I've done regarding what the article leaves out. The section critiquing the aspects of the article itself coming soon.....

Omissions regarding prosecution case
· Falsification of medical records to suggest a child was deteriorating or had an ongoing medical problem.

· Injuries to the livers of two babies from a set of triplets, Babies O and P, the first of which was described in court by neonatal pathologist Dr Andreas Marnerides as being consistent with impact type injury normally seen either in the context of road traffic collisions or “non accidental types of injury”. Dr Marnerides ruled out CPR as a potential cause of Baby O’s liver injury.

· As a follow on to the above point, the article fails to mention *any* of the evidence given in court by Doctor Marnerides or Professor Owen Arthurs, the prosecution’s expert radiologist.

· Letby’s animated and inappropriate behaviour in the aftermath of three of the babies’ deaths (Baby C, Baby I and Baby P)

· Letby’s deliberate and prolonged retention of handover sheets, including from her very early placements as a student nurse. She retained these sheets and took them with her from house to house, with some being found at her parent’s home in Hereford.

· A matter of weeks before the death of Baby A, Letby had completed a training course at Liverpool Women’s hospital, during which the dangers of air embolus via IV lines was mentioned. Shortly prior to her removal from the unit, when Letby knew she was under suspicion, she submitted a DATIX report in relation to the bung being left off an IV port and the potential risk of “accidental air embolus” that this presented. When interviewed by police, Letby stated that she had no training in relation to air embolism, was only aware of air embolism occurring in adults and that she was unaware of air embolism being an issue on the neonatal unit.

· The number of times that babies on the indictment collapsed shortly after their parents or nursing/medical staff had left the room.

· Child N: Severe bleeding from the throat that the prosecution expert haematologist ruled would not have been caused by his haemophilia.

· Child E: Mother went down to NNU to give milk to babies at around 9PM (Child F the other), heard Child E screaming uncontrollably and bleeding from mouth, was told to go back to the labour ward by Lucy Letby. Rang husband and relayed this information to him- phone records support this account, as does the husband’s recollection of the call, whereas paperwork by Letby puts the timing of the mum’s visit that night at 7:30-8PM

There doesn't appear to any information released about the other deaths in 2015 -2016, where they occurred, who was there, were they unexpected was there underlining medical reasons? Without this information how is any statistician meant to study them?
There is a lot of twisting of evidence, taking it out of context and making assumptions that Letby was not involved when it reality the information is not known.
The scale of operation Hummingbird suggests the trial was the tip of the iceberg and there are a lot of incidents to investigate.
Baby O unexplained impact severe liver injury is ignored by these articles and wasn't challenged at the appeal because the only explanation was that he was deliberately harmed. 😞

Oh ffs. A day or so ago I commented that Drunky Mark used to do a 70s working men's club comedian sort of accent mocking the Welsh for being dim & backward when reading Dr Evans' evidence.

Now he's just flat out doing skits as Dr Evans in the same accent.

Enjoying a lovely coffee with the sun shining and the birds singing and smiling knowing they can try and trash the experts as much as they like but she will die in that prison and she will forever be watching her back known as the worst child killer in uk history.
she is never going anywhere except back to court for more trials never free to ever cross a road on her own 🙂

Exactly this …I refuse to get too wound up about it either as she’s definitely not going anywhere. The trials were argued and were won (and unfortunately a few charges lost) according to the law of our land and the common sense, grit and insight of the jurors. No amount of yelling from the rooftops will change that. Only compelling fresh evidence to the contrary can give her any chink of light at overturning the gargantuan weight of her 15 “til death do us part” 💀convictions. We know that’s not forthcoming … indeed Op hummingbird suggests the direct opposite. I bet Big Nick Energy isn’t wasting a second’s thought or sleep over any of the mania that has ensued. These idiots are surely as irrelevant and irritating as the sickening object of their misguided affection. Wazzocks

Ahh just sweet lovely Milly swigging from a brown paper bag in the back of a church, speaking in a tit welsh accent for other absolute fucktards to find funny, whilst fumbling his shrivelled micropenis over a baby killer with the chin of a truck driver named Keith.
