Feel awful for baby Q’s parents 😰 hope they are doing ok and have support. This likely means they will never be compensated for baby Q’s life changing injuries, despite it largely being Karen Ree’s fault she was allowed back that day.

Didn’t Karen bloody Rees say she would be “happy” for Lucy to continue working, therefore I hope Baby Q’s parents are able to take her to the cleaners of some sort. We all know raising a child with disabilities is a hike in financials. Karen should support them with her future earnings. She chose to sit on her arse.

She should never have got away with K. A sedated 25 weeker does not dislodge it's own ET tube. Dr J witnessed her watching K desaturate as well.

I think that their problem with convicting over baby K is the fact they have to be sure she intended to kill in that moment. Seeing as they had already said she was guilty of multiple murders and poisonings at that point, I struggle to see how it could be anything else. That’s a baby relying completely on oxygen to keep them alive and she removed it and watched.
I think child P also had breathing tubes removed in a very short space of time between collapses, the one where Dr Noname has gone to make a drink, I’m sure they come back after a very short time and the tube is dislodged. Perhaps I’m mistaken but rings a bell. It’s clear this was something she enjoyed messing with and I don’t think for one second it’s a coincidence that she gave parents the strange photos with tubes out. Same as she claimed baby F had rolled over to hug baby E’s teddy. She is just having fun 🤢

It’s been confirmed in a hearing today that the prosecution will seek a retrial for Baby K but not the other 3 babies H, J and Q. Retrial won’t be until June 2024.

The CPS themselves said that they listened carefully to the views of the family before coming to any conclusions, so their views were still an important factor in the decision. Just sadly not enough in some cases.

I wonder if they are doing a retrial for baby K to see how successful (or not) a tube dislodgement guilty verdict would be. Maybe the outcome will help them decide if they are likely to get a verdict on any of these other cases Dewi mentioned. Because if baby K is the strongest with an eye witness but fails again at retrial then maybe any other cases would be unlikely to succeed.

Really displaying the sense of humour bypass that is the Reddit groups there aren’t they. Kinda missing the whole vibe aren’t they 😬 bless them.

here’s some more for you

-why is the virus Lucy Letby shift specific?
- why didn’t super nurse spot the signs of virus in these babies?
- why do a million rare and uncharacteristic things have to have happened to the babies, plus a cover up, plus a corrupt expert and total normalising of absolutely creepy behaviour like hoarding medical records and all the other excuses have to be used to make her innocent?
- why do you lot have to invent things to make her innocent - invent viruses, invent infection, invent words on the note, invent excuses and reasons for Letby’s behaviour that she didn’t come up with herself?
- why is everyone ignoring you?
- why was Letby so shocked at the babies dying if they were always expected to die?
- why are you all such a bunch of fucking weirdos?
- why is your PhD not published?
- why did the bad luck of this Letby shift specific virus also happen to coincide with the bad luck of babies screaming uncontrollably, unexplained blood, lacerations on the liver consistent with serious injury, sudden heart failure with no medical condition identified, incredibly strange responses to cpr, not breathing despite being on full ventilation, tubes repeatedly out even after extremely short amounts of time and in sedated babies that were according to you lot all about to die, some having terrible 30+ minutes of cpr being essentially dead and then breathing/heart rate returning, more milk aspirated and in vomit than should have been there and lungs crushed repeatedly by air in the stomach despite having tubes to remove that air and cpap being universally used in prem babies and extremely rarely ever causing serious complications, unexplainable amounts of air more than an expert in air after death in children had ever seen before despite looking at 500+ examples, large globule of air by the iv line, air in the brain, solid blocks of air from spine to rectum, parents being suspicious or upset by the things she said, multiple witness accounts of rashes that were sudden, fleeting and unusual in both babies that died and those that went on to have no other problems at all despite having just nearly died, coincidence of extremely sudden cpr and near death/death for one twin in a set and the other twin without question having been given lethal dose of synthetic insulin, other people’s stories having to be incorrect repeatedly despite there being solid evidence and data to show they clearly aren’t, the totally unexplainable deaths of two healthy 4lb triplets within 24hrs of each other, a multitude of accounts of her inappropriate and creepy behaviour, a bag under her bed with medical records of babies involved in the case that she had grouped and linked for a reason the same way she had already linked them when she was searching them in quick succession in the middle of the night and a fucking note that she tucked into her diary saying she killed them on purpose because she’s evil.

put that on your bingo xoxo

Being reported now that Solicitors representing families of some of the babies were disappointed with the decision from the CPS not to pursue retrials. Desperately sad for them 😢
I had really hoped it was the parent’s decision not to go to retrial, as it would be a lot to go through again. It makes me so sad to think they did actually want to but CPS decided against it ☹

Is Lucy Letby still a convicted baby serial killer who is going to live the rest of her life in prison? YEP! So nothing else to discuss right now 😊

Baby K was a bit different to the others as she was the only one where a tube was dislodged. However there was a concern at LWH about the number of tubes that were falling out when Lucy was on placement plus COCH had far more coming out then Dewi would expect. This suggests what happened with baby K was not an isolated incident.

What probably happened is Lucy starting off pulling out breathing tubes when bored to induce a medical crisis and then moved on to attacking with air.

I think the jury ended up fatigued in the trial having spent so long throughly analysing huge amounts of evidence and trying to work out what had happened in 22 incidents.

Any new crimes discovered from Hummingbird will be separate to the baby K trial
Can they present new evidence at the retrial? I think there's more evidence for the charge then was originally presented.
---
I hope the parents approved of this decision. It must be so hard not having answers.
I think child H and J made a full recovery and are now healthy children so that's some compensation but child Q was left with cerebral palsy so this must be very hard news for his parents.

I hope that by the time she's found guilty for the attempted murder of Baby K, the law will have changed to make her be forced to hear the verdict and sentence. I do think it will happen.

(I also don't see why it's difficult. She's in custody. Handcuff her to a wheelchair and bring her into a room with a vidoelink and a mute button.)
---
I'm a little sorry that she's getting another couple of weeks in court, though. I suspect she thrives on the attention and going over the memories.

It might have been that they (maybe even just two jurors) weren’t sure tube dislodgement was an intention to kill. These were the questions the judge gave in his directions for the attempted murders.

On each of the 15 counts of attempted murder:

Q1) Are we sure that the defendant intended to kill the child?

If yes, go to Q2 If no, the verdict on that count should be 'not guilty'.

Q2) Are we sure that the defendant did an act or acts that was/were more than merely preparatory to killing the child?

If yes, the verdict on that count should be 'guilty'. If no, the verdict on that count should be 'not guilty'

They might have agreed she intend to harm but not intended to kill. Which given they agree murder on other babies I don’t know why that would be but the verdicts very much indicate to me that they looked at the charges individually rather than together as a whole.

Yeah I saw him claiming that the Lucy Letby thread had gone from being “the main hate thread” to the site completely falling off 🤣🤣.
This site has well over 400,000 members and I’d say that the Lucy Letby thread was actually one of the quieter ones (until the verdicts happened and it got really busy for a bit after). Compared to threads like Mrs Hinch who now has 674 threads about her, Jack Monroe who has 500+ and Katie Price who has nearly 400 threads, this one is just small fry lol.

The reason people don’t talk on here is because everyone has moved on with their lives. They haven’t run off with their tails between their legs after reading the “unscrambled” note (or any of the other shite put out there by the idiotic conspiracy theorists who want to shag Letby) and suddenly realizing she’s NG, they just don’t give a toss about her. We’re all happily living our lives in the comfort that Lucy is banged up having a shit time, and will be for the rest of her days.
Sarritas little grift has failed miserably, Gill has embarrassed and outed himself as a senile old hack and the rest of the morons who post on twitter/facebook aren’t even worth mentioning. Not really much to talk about re Letby anymore.
Yep it’s gone quiet because we are more than happy with the verdicts and sentencing and there is nothing new to discuss until the appeal hearings and retrial. We’ve even got bored of discussing the ‘miscarriage of justice’ conspiracy theorists because we can see it’s never going to go anywhere and they are just parroting the same nonsense all the time.

Statement from Cheshire Police. Rightly so too!! 🩵🩷

Cheshire Constabulary statement regarding the Countess of Chester Hospital (4 October 2023):

Detective Superintendent Simon Blackwell, who is strategic lead for Operation Hummingbird, said: “Following the lengthy trial, subsequent conviction of Lucy Letby and an assessment by senior investigative officers, I can confirm that Cheshire Constabulary is carrying out an investigation into corporate manslaughter at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

“The investigation will focus on the indictment period of the charges for Lucy Letby, from June 2015 to June 2016, and consider areas including senior leadership and decision making to determine whether any criminality has taken place. At this stage we are not investigating any individuals in relation to gross negligence manslaughter.

“The investigation is in the very early stages and we are unable to go into any further details or answer specific questions at this time. We recognise that this investigation will have a significant impact on a number of different stakeholders including the families in this case and we are continuing to work alongside and support them during this process.

“You will be notified of any further updates in due course.”

^nervously introducing myself^

Long time lurker, only just got a code etc.

I was held on remand at HMP Bronzefield earlier this year for charges which have now been dropped (no evidence offered by the crown). I won’t go into detail as there is ongoing criminal and civil shenanigans with the police and my false accuser.

Anyhoo, I wondered if anyone had any questions about life in prison, specifically Bronzefield which is run by Sodexo. What life is like there for people who’ve abused children, the mother & baby unit etc.

I am certain you will be kind to me.
