We are going through the agreed facts of Child A & B. Then will go through evidence of Child A&B.

So am I right to assume that at the moment, due to it being agreed facts, it’s not as ‘hard’ evidence as it will be when it comes to the prosecutions evidence? I know there’s a lot of people saying it’s pretty circumstantial at the moment but I assume (again) that that’s because the defence isn’t going to agree with any evidence that points to LL? If that makes sense

Okay I went looking and found a BBC article about the bath incident, Lucy strikes me as a person with zero self awareness and low on the empathy scale. Doesn't take a genius to realise that's not what you say to a mother washing her dead daughter. Just leave her the duck alone. Again as another poster has said, she likes to make situations about her. I think at the very least we can all agree she's an extremely odd person.

I think this is alot of the problem, she comes across as an extremely detached, bizarre person. Or goes to the other end of the scale and is way too involved. She's just really bleeping weird and it makes her seem suspicious which doesn't help the case.

Implies more than just a brief “awww I remember her first bath “
I guess it must have made the mother uncomfortable for her to remember so clearly?

They can’t do that. She’s pleaded not guilty. Short of changing her plea (which would throw off the whole case) you can’t say someone’s not guilty aka they didn’t do it but if they did it was because they were stressed. It doesn’t work like that.

Sorry I didn't explain myself very well there. I didn't mean that the defense would use it as an excuse or a way to explain her crimes - if she'd pleaded guilty then I guess in that scenario they could.
I think the defence will go down the route that it wasn't murder that say for example the baby where the consultant saw her stood over the cot not doing anything, they will explain this by saying she was stressed or panicked in the moment because of XYZ condition that prevented her from acting how she should have.

I almost don't see how they can't say she isn't experience anxiety or stress etc. Because if I was innocent and being accused of such hideous crimes I would be an anxious stressed mess!

Possibly, it’s her decision, she doesn’t have to. Her barrister hasn’t said either way yet.

Agree to disagree. I already said she may have thought she was doing something nice, however noone with any sense in their head would see a mother washing her dead baby and highlight the fact you gave them their first bath instead of them and also that they loved it - something the mum missed and will never experience again. Absolutely zero social skills or awareness. Worrying for a NICU nurse.

I remember when I was about 16 I was at my boyfriends grandma’s funeral and his cousin was upset that the last time she’d seen her, hadn’t thought to give her a cuddle. Without thought I just piped up ‘I did the last time I saw her’ and I’ve cringed and felt guilty about it for 20 odd years!!

I don’t find the Facebook searches suspicious personally. It’s definitely not that odd and as humans we’re all curious,

the thing that doesn’t look good is her saying she has no knowledge of the searches. But under immense stress and obviously facing murder charges, I’m sure, most of us could see someone in that situation panicking and lying about not remembering. because they thought to admit the searches would make them look guilty.

guilty or not she has 100% lied on that. And it may be her downfall

I’m thinking police interviews are probably agreed facts so hopefully they will be read out soon for child a and b. I’m hoping by hearing what Lucy had to say will make things a bit clearer.

What does this bit mean? This was said after Baby A sadly passed...

"Not having a great run of it" if this was said in relation to baby A then to me this means it was a string of events but were told this is the first incident?

Re the gallows humour there's a big difference when this is mentioned re elderly patients and new born babies. It is so against the natural order of things for a parent to lose a baby I just don't think I could make light of it. I'm not saying neonatal nurses should never have a laugh - I'm sure they have some right families they have to deal with and of course there's always humour in any job dealing with the general public. But if a baby has died I think that's off limits to joke about and I'd find it weird.

The image I get of Lucy is an arrogant busy body. Even the text to her colleague where she says she can’t face the parents of child B and the colleague says “I don’t mind looking after child B”, Lucy says “I think it would be good for you” …. To me that reads as LL thinking she’s above her colleague, quite patronising

She could have just switched to somewhere fast paced like A&E?

I believe she was a children's nurse , it's harder to switch jobs/speciality in that field, there are less jobs to go round than adult nursing or other fields. I could be completely wrong.

I'm finding the agreed facts hard to follow. During Star's trial they presented the agreed facts as succinct, bullet points, almost as a summary?

Perhaps they're referring to the collapse of child b too?

I think it depends how many babies they have seen pass away. People naturally become hardened to the trauma as they wouldn't be able to do the job otherwise.

I think it's more a case that this is the first provable incident or the first incident that resulted in a death.
