She did but I assume the parents were around when she was in there? As she never said she didn’t want to see the baby just that she couldn’t face the parents? And I’m guessing if she’s on nights then it’s likely the parents weren’t there? I also think I read that they phoned the line for updates when not there? And I guess she didn’t want to be designated nurse as more likely to see/have to speak to the parents than if just helping out if needed with the baby. Also more likely to be there when parents are? Like at the start or end of the shift (early night/early morning) compared to middle of the night.

I can’t really understand her reasoning in not wanting to see the parents. She was happy to be around the mum that was bathing her baby so what was it about the twins parents that made her want to avoid them? I think it’s possible that she didn’t want them pointing the finger, maybe they were more vocal about their concerns. Just seems a bit strange.

Can I just ask, I have seen a few people mentioning the bathing of a baby, what is the back story of this? Is it in the wiki somewhere?
Has anyone seen anywhere whether we’re still going through the agreed facts? I imagine we’ll have to go through agreed facts for all the charges before we get in to prosecution vs defence and questioning of people on the stand. We only heard about Child A under agreed facts yesterday so I’m assuming we’re still going through them but I haven’t seen that clarified anywhere?

I can’t remember which baby it was. But one of the mothers said that when she was bathing her baby after they had died, Lucy came into the room, apparently smiling and talking about how she had given the baby their first bath and they loved it.
Even if she if found not guilty there will be a hell of a lot of people in the public who still thinks she did it. I think she would possibly get given a new identity

One thing that has struck me is that her barrister is not offering a defence of mental illness or negligence. Surely if he did think she had done it or there was no reasonable doubt she was in one way or another responsible wouldn't he have gone down that route? Though I must say the wording he uses to describe Lucy did throw me abit.
I believe we are. I’d seen something today that said the texts were agreed by prosecution and defence so I’m assuming so. I imagine they clarify all these things in court I really wish there was a live stream or even a transcript available each day to see what was going on as it seems we miss out on a lot of detail!
Maybe she’d been the other baby longer? So felt more comfortable with the parents? She said she saw the baby have it’s first bath so it makes me think that she’d seen that baby more possibly?
Yes I’m wondering this. I think we might still be in agreed facts. The prosecution are not adding any narrative to this yet (that’s being reported). So just my opinion but I think agreed facts are being run through to give the framework they can then present the case around (both sides)
Same here. I want to know about LL from friends, colleagues, family from the prosecution and the defense. See if she had different sides to her character, what was she like at Uni? Why did she get into nursing? Why Nicu? What did she do in her free time?
A transcript would be great!! Why aren't they doing this? Is it because if she's found NG or it's deemed a mistrial they want to be able to prosecute her again?
Perhaps Lucy refused to do so, they can only do what their client wants really. If she said no I’m not pleading guilty his hands are tied. He can advise her but that’s it.

I think its yet to come... I think they'll leave this right until the end and say LL was suffering from stress, she had X going on in her personal life, has X mental health condition and since being incarcerated she has X .
I totally agree. I really want to hear her history and back story about who she was. We know about the 'crimes' but not about the girl whose on trial.
I feel like if I’d noticed babies were dying every time I was on shift, that I’d be asking my managers what I’m doing wrong, what is going wrong on my shifts and I’d probably be a bit paranoid about it! If I noticed it of a colleague to be honest I might make a crass joke about it to them- I certainly wouldn’t be suspicious that they were really murdering them! My relative had five deaths in a week of shifts in a care home so we called her Shipman for a few months
Obviously that depends on how she was at work. Those messages make her sound like the office busybody, always gossiping and chatting about work and while everybody engages with her, they probably do it out of politeness.- Status
