Had a TikTok live come up on my FYP, someone talking about the Letby case. Really concerning as she doesn’t know shit about the legal system (she’s English and seems to cover various true crime cases so should know!) and the comments are alarming regarding scapegoating / hospital failures etc. hoping it’s just people who are new to it.

Oh and this ‘expert’ named all the babies that were in that old Mail article god it’s scary how many people just taking every word she says as truth. She’s actually leaning towards guilty but just her lack of understanding of the evidence and general legal stuff. She thinks it’s unusual judge went to majority as that’s not usual in England, I mean wtf?!

None of you, not a single one of you, has any idea what’s going on with the jury.
Imagine trying to do shifts for a dozen employees? It’s impossible without someone wanting to change. These are ordinary people with lives to lead.
This is one of the most serious trials I’ve come across in terms of the charges. I’ve no doubt the jury is taking their role seriously but also, frankly, half the population is below average intelligence and with 22 charges and 4000 documents is going to be a lot for people to go over.
This isn’t for our entertainment and I think those getting frustrated seem to think it is. I’ve seen some quite shameful comments about people who we know nothing about (and never will).

Good morning lads so turns out I’ve been living off toast and ginger biscuits this week because I’m actually pregnant with my first! Ordered a book of dad jokes last night that should arrive today, and that will be how my husband finds out! So happy but also absolutely shitting myself I thought a microwave safe pot also meant it would be safe on the hob and melted the bottom of it and now I’m gonna be responsible for a person?!?!?!!

We are more akin to a group of people that can critically appraise evidence as we’ve heard it. There have been many, many interesting discussions here over time, if you care to go back and read earlier threads.

There were many posters here, myself included, that were initially leaning NG or on the fence. Everyone was very tolerant of differing opinions at that time. Most posters made up their own minds as the trial went on, basically because she’s guilty as fucking sin. There were moments during prosecution that were jaw dropping for many of us. Read @MmmB777’s posts if you feel like opening your mind.

I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt cos you’re young and obviously want to hang out on this thread but seriously, coming in here and labeling this as an ‘echo chamber’ and that you still believe she’s NG, without backing up why, is just gonna piss people off.

Out of interest, do you believe NG - not enough evidence to convict, or NG - she didn’t do it, cos if it’s the latter, then you’re in the wrong place mate.

Well, there’s one vote for unanimous NG, I think we know who that belongs to now, and yes you’re right, he’s definitely in the wrong place, he needs to go back to Drury lane!

I’d ignore the trolls. The more you respond, the more he enjoys it. He isn’t here for a conversation, just negging. I do find it interesting that women dominant sites are always guilted for being echo chambers or expected to 'be kind' (even when others are not) and all accomodating. You don't get this on male dominant or more neutral sites or sites run by men. I'd like to see someone join Red Cafe (as an example, I'm not a fan haha) and accuse them of being an echo chamber of United supporters.

As some of our more rational Tattlers pointed out earlier, we know nothing about the jurors circumstances so I apologise to those jurors who have given up their lives for almost a year and are fighting for that guilty verdict. They will be as frustrated as us. My messages were written in annoyance and looking back they are blown out of proportion

I hope that none of the jurors are undergoing chemotherapy as it would be truly terrible for them to have the added stress of this trial on top of everything else!

Also I think we need to lower our jury expectations (I’m definitely going to) so that it doesn’t end up in so much disappointment when they get sent home every day. Each day is a rollercoaster of anxiety, impatience and then disappointment. No wonder we need the distraction of penises and ears!
