One of the Reddit legal people has just said this regarding Judgy G reiterating a unanimous verdict needs to be reached.

“That's exactly what it sounds like to me - that jurors were sending him notes to say they had reached a majority, had appointments next week and could a majority be accepted etc” 🧐

Yeah that’s bold of them to assume. You just wouldn’t 😂
Yeah and to be fair JG is explicitly saying that the jury falsely thought they’d be off for the week not had presumed they’d be finished by now! So definitely odd imo!

Still think it’s totally bonkers to book things in thinking they had a week off unless the Eyebrow God himself has said they’re not sitting. I could never!
Oh, same. And then still asking for the time off when the other juror has been dismissed is cheeky as duck

If everyone had got their act together from the start it would have been done and dusted. All the sick days by jurors and late starts, early finishes. It's their own fault they're still there in August.
Exactly. They have acted like it's optional to bother to turn up.
"What you Thursday Pam? Ooh I can't decide between bingo or court but our Stacey has a dentist appointment so I'll pop along with her. I'll go court Friday coz This Mornings cancelled coz footy."

bleeping flakey fannies the lot if them.

And, I'm on one now, the jury have an obligation to the system and the parents to deliver a verdict in as timely manner as possible, not messing about taking time off at this stage.

I've said previously I hope they are excused any further duty due to the length of the trial, I now hope they are never called again as I'm not sure they are up to the task.

Sorry if this seems harsh as I know it's been a long trial but there have been so many delays.
Judge has advised them to rearrange the appointments / commitments due next week ASAP - ‘in smoke breaks’ if not earlier - https://www.chesterstandard.co.uk/news/23700985.lucy-letby-trial-jury-11-14th-day-deliberations/

So at least one juror is a smoker or vaper. Cut those breaks out of the deliberation time and where are we at now?!!! How long are those breaks?!

Tbh I’m not sure I can believe it was a pregnancy because once it got to June/July they’d have all worked out the implications of the juror needing to give birth and have a newborn in the next few weeks. It wouldn’t be such a last minute thing to have let them go yesterday. I think given we know one had an op and even came back soon after.. it’s more likely connected to that type of thing.
Yeah I agree, surely once it got to later on in the pregnancy and it became clear the trial wasn’t going to end in time they would make alternative arrangements. Just got a real sense of unease about the whole thing tbh.

Anyway, is he asking for himself here or….. View attachment 2356006
Aye DickGillitis

Is it because of the Scottish BH they thought court was out?

I'm feeling a bit discombobulated by it all to be honest, I did think he'd go with majority. Would the loss of 1 juror affect this?
I’m Scottish and didn’t even know we had a BH, I can’t tell you what month we’re in right enough 😂

it’s not sitting easy with me all this now, but I’m trying to keep level headed and presume it’s life changing things, treatments etc. We’ll never know but surely 🙏

This turn of events is really concerning me. I'm worried that we are heading for a NG verdict now.

I know this has been a long trial for everyone but you'd think at this stage the jury would want to get the job done. I'm actually gob-smacked that they thought they were off next week.
As someone said earlier it looks like they may have presumed they weren't sitting because the dismissed juror needed a week off and then they booked appointments etc when in fact Judge Goss just sacked off the juror.

So how about I just assume (with nobody actually officially telling me) that I can take next week off work even though there's a massively important deadline overdue, that people are waiting for in actual emotional distress, and then when it turns out oop - guess what I am actually expected to be at work - I'll say 'Oh but I thought I'd be off so can I just do some of the stuff I had planned?'

bleeping ridiculous.

Gossie's initial instructions:

“If you are satisfied so that you are sure in the case of any baby that they were deliberately harmed by the defendant then you are entitled to consider how likely it is that other babies in the case who suffered unexpected collapses did so as a result of some unexplained or natural cause rather than as a consequence of some deliberate harmful act by someone.
“If you conclude that this is unlikely then you could, if you think it right, treat the evidence of that event and any others, if any, which you find were a consequence of a deliberate harmful act, as supporting evidence in the cases of other babies and that the defendant was the person responsible.
“When deciding how far, if at all, the evidence in relation to any of the cases supports the case against the defendant on any other or others, you should take into account how similar or dissimilar, in your opinion, the allegations and the circumstances of and surrounding their collapses are.
So do you think she killed baby a?

Yes all in agreement, right that's her guilty of all then, job done.
Exactly why this whole thing is a pisstake. It’s pretty obvious she’s guilty once you put all the evidence together. Just bleeping get on with it and send her down🙄

Those poor babies and their families, this has been a real shitshow for them from the start 😢

If they don’t get justice after all of this, it will be a bloody disgrace.

I think this is the most likely case. I don't necessarily think they're taking the piss, just trying to manage life whilst being in this situation. Glad Gossy has put his foot down though, this needs to be done ASAP for the families.
He's tried to be firm but he's left it down to them so they might not rearrange and then court won't be sitting.

Worst thing is instead of cracking on with deliberations this morning, 3 of them are now bleeping about re-arranging appointments
And probably all witching to each other about how unfair it is rather than getting on with the duty they’re supposed to be doing.

duck this jury man, I’ll reserve my sympathy for the families of the babies.
