What the duck is wrong with this bleeping jury?! THREE notes though. Three?!?! Right ok so they thought they were off (maybe dismissed juror had hospital treatment or something) and now they're not, but then WHY SEND A NOTE?! Because they still think their appointments should be honoured? No you'd be like 'Ah right, better crack on then.'

They sound like an absolute shower of incompetent, selfish idiots. I have zero faith that we'll get any verdict let alone the right one. I'm raging on behalf of those families.

On the morning of Friday, August 4, the judge told the jury that some of them had been operating under a "false premise" that the court would not be sitting next week, with three of the jurors having made appointments or commitments for that time.

He said he would not be "unsympathetic" if rearranging those appointments was "impossible", but those jurors should make efforts to do so at the earliest opportunity.

He added the jury should continue as a jury of 11, and give unanimous verdicts at this stage.

I'm not hopeful they'll be sitting every day next week then, FFS!

They'll probably just say they cannot rearrange their appointments or commitments or at least one of them will probably not rearrange.

If there’s no verdict today can’t a group of you turn up at court on Monday with a big hat and sunglasses and claim you’re the jurors? Offer a couple of the real ones the opportunity to crack on with their Brazilians or day out at Alton towers and take their spots!

I’m sure after a mere 10 months being together they won’t notice a switch.

I work in a place where no one is ever pulled up on things like absence or doing a tit job it's all about being kind and understanding even when someone is blatantly taking the piss under your nose. Don't get me wrong it's a great place to work for flexibility and with a young family but everything moves at a snails pace. Nothing works and no-one is motivated. That's the kind of attitude it breeds unfortunately.

Any hope I had that it would be today has been scuppered. My prediction is they won't be able to cancel their appointments and court won't sit for 3 days. The other two will be catching up on deliberations. I think we have another 2 weeks to go now.

Maybe the juror that was discharged yesterday thought they’d be done by now but had something they needed to attend next week and the jury thought they wouldn’t sit. Since they’ve been discharged which they may not have expected, they’ve been told they are in next week? I’m just pondering. Anyway, is he asking for himself here or….. View attachment 2356006

I think someone has already said this but perhaps the juror with the serious issue that had to leave yesterday had initially thought they’d be allowed 1 week off for a treatment and then recovery (could easily need another op or similar!). So the others at the time thought ‘right we know juror 8 needs to be off then, going to book in a few things’ and then found out yesterday that juror 8 was actually advised/decided not to continue because of concerns for their health and so they’ve tried to wangle it with JG reg the appointments but it’s a nope. Hope they can rearrange or get it done today!!!

I don’t feel sorry for them really I can’t lie. The main reason it’s gone on this long is the Monday unforeseen circumstances and the fact that after a full week of being in court they need a week off after
I feel sorry for the families that have waited 7 years for answers and had to listen to a plumber try and defend this so called scapegoat that’s killed their children

I feel the same. I've tried hard to feel sympathetic and remember the trial is tough, subject matter is horrific etc. But since the random week off it's been a struggle and now this BS about three separate juror requests for absence next week... I'm done now. No more Mrs Nice Brillo.

These delays just prolong the agony for the families. However hard it's been for the rest of us, it's been worse for them. And the jury need to get their act together.

I know they are in a difficult position, but this beggars belief really. Would anyone here really hand up a note requesting time off for an appointment if they were on the jury and deliberations were running on longer than expected? There is no way I would. I would just cancel and reschedule without having to involve Goss. He must be fit to explode at this point. The parents are traipsing in and out every day too waiting to hear if they will get justice for their little babies lives and these lot want to get a haircut or something? Piss off. They agreed they can make the commitment when they were sworn in. tit or get off the pot lads.

Are they taking the piss? Arranging appointments due to falsely assuming they'll take a week off?

Makes me wonder if some of them are ekeing it out due to not wanting to return to work full time.

maybe the pregnant juror was due next week, and that’s why they thought they weren’t sitting? She went into labour yesterday and now they obviously don’t need that week off anymore?

This turn of events is really concerning me. I'm worried that we are heading for a NG verdict now.

I know this has been a long trial for everyone but you'd think at this stage the jury would want to get the job done. I'm actually gob-smacked that they thought they were off next week.
