I think the way that social media algorithms have rapidly changed in recent years also has a lot to answer for when it comes to the spread of conspiracy theories and misinformation. With platforms like twitter and tiktok, all it takes is putting one like on a video from an antivax/CT page, and suddenly your entire timeline just gets bombarded with suggestions to follow all sorts of pages spreading fake news. Eventually it gets to a point where it becomes quite difficult to differentiate between what’s real and what isn’t.
To get back on topic, when it comes to conspiracy theories, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with challenging authority or asking difficult questions. My issue is with those who throw out these ridiculous, utterly unfounded allegations against completely innocent individuals who have unfortunately found themselves caught up in this case, and then claim that they’re the ones being ‘silenced’ or ‘attacked’ when someone asks them to back it up with a bit of evidence. Some of the accusations being made here have real impacts on people’s lives, doctors like Gibbs and Evans are NOT under investigation here, yet there are people who think it’s perfectly acceptable to slander and accuse them of utterly heinous crimes despite there being no evidence for it whatsoever. I think it’s appalling and frankly I hope that anyone who does this gets sued for defamation of character.

I posted my comment before seeing this, but what I’ve written above applies.
As I say, I don’t have an issue with asking questions, I myself thought Letby was innocent until quite far into this trial. It’s the ridiculous and reputation damaging theories that people like Gill and a small group of people who clearly have personal issues with the NHS are throwing out against individuals that I disagree with.
I think it’s very wrong and at the end of the day, the scapegoat theory quite literally *is* a conspiracy theory imo. It’s accusing a group of people of secretly conspiring against LL to fit her up for something she hasn’t done.

It’s perhaps verging on conspiracy but I believe it about the AZ vaccine being used as a pawn in a pissing match because after the initial fuss about it as a side effect (I believe this was true in rare cases) it quickly came out that the other jabs had a very similar rate of it and all the EU experts and politicians who had been on and on about it shut right up rapidly and it was never mentioned again so obviously it wasn’t actually the effect they were really concerned about or surely it wouldn’t cease to matter when the others had the same, they’d have been really worried about them all 🤷‍♀️

I do see where you’re coming from, initially when I started following this case I was thinking hang on a minute here… could this be all explainable. Post mortem air is a thing, liver injury post CPR can sometimes be a thing (in adults anyway). However, when you scratch the surface of the evidence, it’s just none of these reasons and that’s not even taking the insulin cases into consideration. How could she explain them?! The only explanation is deliberate harm, done on purpose to cause serious illness and/or death and the only person with proven direct access on almost all the cases is our Luce. She’s guilty as fuck.

Believe it or she did have an answer for the insulin…yep!! She did say she did think there was something in that in the beginning that did make her think, however, since then there have been copious other theories on that too, in the innocent camp. Some even saying it simply can’t of been Lucy because she wasn’t there, even though this had been pointed out and that she set the bag up before. I don’t know exactly what the theory was, the hospital was buggering things up so badly that this administration of insulin was a mistake of some kind…but again as you say even Lucy had denied that could be the case. I honestly don’t know. You get so confused by it all, but when I think about it logically I know it’s her, but then my ‘conspiracy’ or whatever you want to call it brain goes into over drive and I start thinking what if?? I know it’s crazy- but goodness how the jury are, and also her saying there are these bundles of evidence…that kind of threw me, not that I really believe it.
