Hey! First time poster, finally managed to make an account. Been following the trial and this thread along with most other socials since the start.

She's guilty as sin and I don't know how anyone in their right mind could think otherwise. The FB nutters must be so upset with the judge right now, he could not be laying it out more clearly for them.

RG is also an absolute numpy. I don't care how "clever" he is, he has got this one so wrong that it makes me worry the other ones he got off were still guilty regardless of any dodgy statistics.

Been following this thread for a while and wanted to add my input. From the day of hearing about her arrest my gut feeling has been that she is guilty, as difficult as it is to comprehend somebody in the caring profession being capable of something like this. I am a healthcare professional myself and have been involved in numerous emergency situations in hospital with babies/children and cannot think of any that were unexplained and/or unexpected - normally during a resus situation it is either 'expected' due to the patients condition deteriorating or being unstable, or an explanation is found quite quickly following full assessment or further investigations (blood tests etc). The evidence the prosecution have presented has only solidified their case in my opinion and I can't see how she could be innocent.
I hope that the jury make the right decision so that the poor babies and their families get the justice they deserve, although it could never make up for what they have been through. I also hope that her colleagues are getting the support they need as this would undoubtedly be devastating for them to hear evidence that a colleague that they no doubt trusted was actually causing harm.
I think following this case there will be a lot of investigation at CoCH and changes in practice and policies to find out how this went on unnoticed for so long and to prevent this from happening again. I imagine the police will also have to investigate every patient that Letby has ever had direct contact with which will be a mammoth task in itself as during nurse training there are 9 or more placements in different clinical areas and can also be across different trusts depending on where the university uses for placements. Sadly I think there will be more cases to come.

Hello, another newbie!

Absolutely love Turkish Delight. The proper posh powdery one. Not the purple wrappered one.

I would be going with Guilty based on what I've heard.

I took an interest in the trial as I'm from Hereford so the articles caught my attention. I would have left school after Lucy Letby started but believe we went to the same schools.

As with all Herefordians there's only a couple of degrees separation and I recognise the surname but will be as clueless as all until after the trial and further details come out.

If anyone has any questions on Hereford I'm happy to answer. She lived on what was and is considered the not so good side of town.

Some of those photos of her online when younger/drinking are in what was called Bar Spirit, ironically up Gaol (Jail) Street opposite the police station.

I think it would’ve been good if BNE could have pre-empted BM by saying “he’s going to imply these babies were at death’s door but here are the statistics to show expected survival rates for babies of this gestation without major congenital abnormalities. And here are the commonest complaints they will overcome on the way…” That way the jury would be focused on the fact most babies fight through these challenges, including the ones BM has tried to pass off as signs of decline when LL wasn’t there.
The chest drain stuff is just being manipulated to bamboozle the jury imo, same as the stoma care.
I have had a few wobbles this week wondering if BM has played it well enough to the jury to give reasonable doubt. Just got to hope they can see the wood for the trees. When I was feeling pessimistic I was wondering about op hummingbird. I just can’t see them funding three more years of investigation and another trial if she gets NG this time. I think it’s all or nothing.
Just to reassure you BNE did actually say something similar to this in his summing up in court. He said something along the lines of ‘the defence are going to try and convince you that these babies were extremely poorly and in a lot worse condition than they actually were, I ask you to remember the evidence that has been given by witnesses and medical experts,’. I am paraphrasing but it was definitely along them lines.

Hello all by the way, another new to posting but not new to reading follower here. I follow the case over a lot of different media’s and although I am a member or lots of the FB groups I may not be a nutter.. well possibly 🤣

Hi everyone - I’ve been following this thread for so long but been waiting to been able to join so I could comment.
I admit that there have been times when I’ve questioned certain bits of evidence but have been firmly of the guilty opinion for a long time time now.
I used to work in the legal world and, sorry to make you all jealous, have met BNE on a few occasions (many years ago). I’d describe him as aloof on a personal basis but amazing at his job. I still say now that if I was ever on trial then I would absolutely pick him every time to defend me!

I don't think I've ever picked up before that mum of baby E said LL bathed her baby and LL said the parents did the bathing.

Thats a really weird thing for Mum E to lie about or be mistaken about regardless of her grief and shock at the time. You would remember bathing (or not bathing) your child who had suddenly died unexpectedly and it makes no sense to lie about.

Dr at a and e wasn't interested basically he's peeing and seems bright enough and is feeding often so he's fine. Got told its not an emergency and hv is the one to deal with it. I'm going to keep feeding him myself for now and see if I can keep him going will give myself a couple of weeks and if no weight gain I'll supplement feed or just bottle feed

Judge Goss seems to be perfectly undoing all the crap spouted by BM last week. I’m so relieved.. I can only imagine the parents are too after having to listen to it all.

The judge says Mr Myers "repeatedly expressed his opinions" on the merits of the expert evidence, questioning and challenging them. He says that is his right, but it is up to the jury to determine the reliability of the expert evidence.
I've been waiting a week for him to say this. His opinions - nothing more.

Newbies I love you and welcome, you all seem like good fellas but woah that was a lot to catch up on (but then I do have to read all the choc/ crisps/ Matalan chat too.)

Just to add for the "There is no evidence!" 🥴 lot, Judge Goss spent over 2 hours yesterday just summing up the evidence for child A. And has so far only covered 3 babies. So stick that in your holes like it's a Robocock2007.

Judge Goss is 70, he has 5 children so is probably a Grandad. I bet he's a really bloody good Grandad too!

I'm sure this case has touched his heart like it has us.

Was just reading about a time where he dismissed the jury and tried the case alone following jury intimidation am bribery. This was in February 2017.

He's the man!
Aww ...he is definitely showing us he's the man so far....he is the last person now, who can be a voice for those babies and families and so far, he's doing a bloody good job❤
