Hi guys! Another long time reader, fellow ginger and Turkish delight (the real stuff, with pistachios and powder!!) lover and definitely firmly in the guilty camp.
As most other newbies (hi new registration friends) I just wanted to thank all on here for always having such a healthy debate and in depth talks about this case, it's been a breath of fresh air to read different sides of people's thoughts

I think it was @Tofino the other week said we should all consider how we will feel once the verdict is reached and it's been playing on my mind as we've all followed this for however many years now, I think the main sense will be relief but I just hope the families get the justice they deserve for their little ones ❤
2 things that stood out the most today, she should never have taken the stand if she wanted to get off with it and 2 Wowzers I’ve not read the write up but in person it was overwhelmingly prosecution heavy, obviously he said some of the defence but with no defence witnesses to quote it didn’t bode well. It was a really good sum up it really brought it all together. Note to self though- more caffeine needed! I listen to everything sped up usually so it’s been hard to concentrate for sooo long. All in all much better start to the week and the atmosphere

I imagine there’s people just waiting to sell their story and spill all
she really should never have took that stand. If she wanted anyone to believe her lies !!! I was on fence till I saw her slip up on the “ I know what I was looking for” day … quite a few raised eye brows … I came away 100% guilty from court. I’m banned from fb group and left the others … (to save my sanity).. I’ve followed u FELLAs for a long time … bowel movement is great and big energy nick hahaha xx

my personal view of how she came across was pretty spoilt and oh my did she think she was better than every1 else !!! 😳 hopefully a WLO is on the way for u lucifer xx

BIB Yeah...another coincidence apparently. Just like the undecorated nursery. This house defo gave her some sick kick.
I know we may never know but the motive and criminal profiling really fascinates me. I wish big trials like these were televised so body language could be studied.

I guess when she’s found guilty and the police/interview tapes are released we’ll have more to go on

Dr at a and e wasn't interested basically he's peeing and seems bright enough and is feeding often so he's fine. Got told its not an emergency and hv is the one to deal with it. I'm going to keep feeding him myself for now and see if I can keep him going will give myself a couple of weeks and if no weight gain I'll supplement feed or just bottle feed
I'm not an expert but I did go through something similar with my second born. She didn't have tongue tie or anything but had reflux and even though she was breastfeed nearly exclusively at the start she just kept vomiting and couldn't keep my milk down. Eventually when she just wasn't putting on weight I switched her to formula at 12 weeks. Used gavascon for babies and then eventually a comfort formula. I saw your posts earlier and because I hadn't been successful with keeping my second breastfed I didn't really think I should reply but I am now just to show you aren't on your own in dealing with this. It sounds like you have a plan of action now and I hope it works out for you. I'm so sorry you have been having such a stressful time of it 🩷

Oh this is very true. I have a colleague from the East End who loves to go on about how tough his area was. Always irritates him when I say ‘that’s nothing’ and regale him with stories about where my wife grew up in São Paulo. One person’s ‘rough’ is another person’s ‘quite nice, actually!’
If she still works there ( I'm wondering if she does, as she's not been mentioned during the case, but, she's on many of the photos circulating 😡Unless she's one of the ones who haven't been named) I hope MT gives a her a slap and asks her to deliver it to her on her first prison visit....😡( please God, she's going down for life!)

They will be very interesting indeed. I’m sure there’s a reason defence didn’t want them shown! My guess is they did not fit whatsoever with the poor frightened Lucy act. They read like she was incredibly cocky and confident to me.

I didn’t know about the Liverpool hospital and the 2 babies that died there?! She’s just an absolute succubus isn’t she
She mentions the Liverpool babies in a text just minutes before baby C collapse.

I thought we decided way back that she smells of Charlie Red or Tommy Girl. Or did I dream that?
I bet she smells of prison funk now. I don't actually know what prison funk is, but Letby definitely smells of it.
I stopped dating a guy after he bought me Tommy Girl!

Hello all, newbie here, but I’ve been following from the outside for months. I’m so glad to finally be in.
I’m not a ginge, and I don’t shop at matalan, I do love a Turkish delight though!

I’ve been really backwards and forewords throughout this trial, I started off NG, then G, then back to NG during the defence opening statements, I was firmly back to G once LL took the stand.
I did have a bit of a wobble last week but I’m still camp G.

The main reason for my wobble was when it came out that DE has been criticised previously on an expert statement, my thought process being, any previous criticism is obviously damning, so why did the prosecution not try and find and an expert that hasn’t been professionally embarrassed or criticised, unless he was their only option, I am skeptical that experts witnesses have been known to result in miscarriages of justice in the past.

Then I’ve also thought, what if she has murdered babies, but not all of them (not that that makes it any better) but the fact she has murdered babies is going to mean she’s going to be convicted of murdering babies when she hasn’t.

Weighing everything up in my mind, I think she’s guilty of all, and unfortunately I think she’s guilty of more, and that the only reason she wasn’t caught earlier is because it was a build up that got worse over time. Obviously we’ll probably never know what’s driven her to it, but I think she only ever joined the nursing profession to target babies, I just can’t comprehend that someone would just one day start doing it out of the blue.

Looking at some of the arguments, she’s a scapegoat, it’s a witch hunt, sub optimal care etc, which I don’t agree with, but I also don’t think everything is black and white, sub optimal care for example can co exist alongside a baby murderer, I really don’t think it’s one or the other. I really don’t think she’s a scapegoat either, although I do think she’s a good reason to shift some blame now, rather than originally.

I really do feel sorry for everyone involved, apart from LL of course, the parents, the babies, the survivors. I worry that the staff at COCH are going to be forgotten about, it’s going to be so hard for them, professionally, to trust their colleagues. Likewise, the parents and then right down to us in the wider public, how do you get that trust back with healthcare professionals. Their are so many affected that a whole life order is really the only sensible option to feel even the slightest sense of justice.

The parents have had this case hanging over them for so many years that I wonder how have they managed to grieve for the babies they’ve lost, and For those that survived, how their lives have been changed forever, at the hands of one evil person.

Just one thing I’m wondering, when the jury go out to deliberate, do you think they’ll start with agreeing on baby A and work from there, or start from the very obvious insulin cases, I’ve never done jury duty So no idea if it has to be done in order of charges. I think she’ll get guilty on all of the jury can start on the insulin cases.

I also have to say, both the prosecution and defence have done brilliant jobs, and I really can’t see any grounds of appeal so BM gets a round of applause from me for that, despite the awful insensitivity on his part,it’s awful that the parents have had to listen to that, but I’m sure the prosecution, and witness care unit will have sensitivity explained this to the parents.

Here’s to a whole life order!

Wasn't one of the items seized from her home, paperwork from LWH, related to a baby there which she kept separate from her other large "paper collection"? And wasn't it kept separately in a box with a rose or flower with it?..weird amd sick if ask me!

She actually said ‘several’ baby deaths at her placement in LWH.

and in the message to JJK she says she was given another dying baby to help her ‘get over’ the imagine of the one she had just lost.

I wonder how long the deliberation will take. I think I’ve read Shipman’s took 6 days. If this jury is quite confident after all these months maybe they could make it a nice round 5 days and come back Friday of the same week they start so they can have a stress free weekend after ( and then we will have all weekend to read all the stories the press immediately release)

*Disclaimer* I am not a medical professional.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I have 3 teenage boys. All were born big (10llb ish) , all lost weight and I was on the ‘naughty list’ for a baby that wasn’t putting on enough weight every bleeping time (I had different ‘feeding journeys’ with them all but essentially breastfed till 6 months old) and with hindsight I wish I’d listened less to the professionals and just focussed on whether my child was ‘generally’ eating, shitting, sleeping etc. I went through every machination with my first (manual and electric pumping to top up etc) and by my third son I gently (but assertively) managed the situation, did less weighing and more enjoying them. This is only my experience. Now I look back and think, d’ya know what that was just my pattern..…babies that thrived in the womb and took a while longer to adjust to the outside world! Don’t let a growth chart/graph dictate your life 😀

I could decide in an hour or so, having followed the evidence we have here, no qualms, no doubts.

Ok, finally broke down and googled Turkish Delight when I saw in one of the posts that it comes in rose & lavender as I have a huge sweet tooth & love new things (within reason). I live on the east coast and have never even heard of them except on The Witch & the Wardrobe, I think? They sound ooey and gooey and sticky sweet so they’d probably stay in reserve for desperate times. However, I did just place an order on Amazon for a box of rose, as I generally love things flavored rose (rose yogurt by Libertie is the best!) - hope it is here in time for celebrating the verdicts - GUILTY on all! Now what does it mean if I like it again? 😃
Best wishes for the wee one @Caledonianprincess! So worrisome, I’m sure but hopefully all sorted soon! And a HUGE congratulations to @Lucyxxxx on the best news!
You said east coast and I thought Scarborough, then I realised aaah you mean USA - sorry I just really amused myself there 😂
