Maccies and apple juiceAny of you gorgeous lot got any top hangover cures? Dying here![]()
Doing a Lucy Letby; can’t recall now. What's with the secrecy of some covert info that has apparently been gleaned? Either post it or don't, but what's the point in the teaser?
Same. I commented once or twice but it was too much for me. Headache tbh.I did. Didnt' dare comment!!
Did you do a write up I need to find itI’d forgotten this part
It was so theatrical. “We say it [prosecutions treatment of LL] was BAAAAAADDDD. Bad.”![]()
I’m really worried tooKinda worried BM is gonna sway some of the juryreally hope not! She’s guilty as sin!
It may not be as.simplistic but my view on this, and I'm sure too, that's what he's gonna do, cos it's all he has done so far is....it is a "poor do" that he didn't provide any expert medical witnesses of his own, to help his cause..how can they all be wrong ffs?yes I think he is going to go through each baby and try and discredit all the main witnesses. It’s the only thing he can attempt to do. So I think all of today and into Monday. But I don’t think it will be more than two days when prosecution took 4 days.
DittoI am a violent person and I agree
Lucky him then, more than likely has private health care and won't need the NHS!It’s all he can do. There is literally no plausible defence so it’s all he can do is attack attack attack. Attack the staff, the standard of care at the hospital, and try to discredit the other witnesses including the parents.
I have been quiet as away on holiday so mostly catching up whilst the other half is asleep. I am probably going to be the odd one out (again) but I am really looking forward to hearing BM’s closing speech. I think it will be interesting to see how he plays this.
There is undoubtedly an argument for closing speeches to potentially have more impact on the jury than evidence as barristers tend to be clearer with what they are saying than witnesses (expert or otherwise). They are skilled at laying out a case and tying it all together.
Let’s hope for decent reporting - Marky Mark I am looking at you.
I thought that too, but I'm sure she'll let us all know what she knows or what she can tell us without jeopardising the caseI wondered that but she said I saw a convo and I thought you would hear a conversation so I thought it must have a different meaning.
Hope so and it almost sort of will be the defence affirming one of the arguments of the prosecution, which will strengthen itI have relooked at Reddit and there are now more comments about the insulin which BM talked about yesterday. If he has misled the jury because of his ignorance of the subject I hope this is put right because it is an important part of the trial.
Oh I listened to the latest one this morning and noticed they had changed this to “everyone is”. I wondered if they’d had some feedback about this.Ive been listening to DM podcast they start every episodes with
“Everyone of these babies ‘was or is’ somebodies son or daughter”
They do not stop being someone’s child if they’ve passed away (murdered)
Even if ‘was’ is grammatically correct.
It frustrates me every time I listen
Thanks for clearing that up. I had visions of BM with of slides of evidence. She's still toastNo I don’t believe he does, hence why he only had one witness and it was a bit of a moot point. He has 0 medical experts to back him up. The only evidence I believe is some tiny little holes/mistakes in the prosecutions case, which he’ll play on but which don’t negate the bigger picture when you look at both statistics of her being there either just before or during every single collapse and things such as her keeping the medical notes, her own notes which she made, the Facebook searches etc etc etc.
And me, I have a massive bird phobia don't even know where it came from!Me too![]()
Someone on fb said he's asked the judge if he can start.on MondayGod I feel sick with nerves.
I think BM is going to drag his closing out and take a few days. Much like her taking the stand, this closing is literally all he's got so I think he's going to pick at every little thing (as is his job). I hope I'm wrong as I'm not sure how much of it I can listen to.
I would be so scared to be cross examined, esp when innocentI think he's too professional to let much slip about his personal opinions. From what I've seen online it's only conspiracy theorists who believe that she could be innocent now, and he's definitely too logical to be one of those (especially as he will know every detail of the case, including things that haven't been given much airtime in the press). I think he will almost certainly believe she's guilty, but his job is to provide a defence, and he'll do that with a poker face.
I was interested to read the post from an American (I think) poster in another thread that commented on how combative the UK court system is. I'd just assumed that all trials involved aggressive questioning of witnesses, but it seems like it might be more pronounced in the UK. I hate it too. It's no wonder rape victims are frightened to press charges when you read the way the defence counsels go after them.
It's 2.5 miles from where she lived so geographically it's possible.I've just googled this school. It looks a very nice school almost like a private school but I cannot see that it is a private school. It describes itself as a small school and that it is oversubscribed. Someone previously said she went to a school called Bishops school so I'm not sure what to believe. If she went into children's nursing at 18 would she have known at that time whether or not she could have children, I suppose it depends on the reason.
