I didn’t realise crows have an opinion on everything, they do. Apart from the cawing, it’s hmmm, ehh, what?, is that so, or the equivalent in bird noises.

Me and my friend are hoping to go on Monday. Do you think there's a good chance it will be on. Lynnssnazzycardigan earlier wondered if it might not. As it's 1.5 hours on a bus and a short drive to get the bus it's a bit of a journey and it only gets announced if not going ahead when we are on our way. I know you won't know for sure but do you think it will probably go ahead from what you heard on Friday and do you think the defence might be 5 days.

I grew up familiar with parrots as family friends kept them. It's been years since I had one on my shoulder but yesterday I had the pleasure of Miss Dottie sitting on it. She was so gentle and a good girl. A volunteer at mum's care home brought her in to visit. She's a big girl, an absolute beauty but she had quite a beak on her! Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience. My mum has no fear of animals and all the residents love it when animals go into the home (I get told off if I don't take the dog in!). On another occasion she was quite happy to have a huge python draped around her neck.

Sorry to go OT, but hope it's ok to waffle a bit as a bit of respite.

Feeling somewhat anxious over the defence summing-up next week. BM's got a mammoth task ahead of him but could he pull enough out of the bag to plant considerable doubt with the jury? Guess it's a waiting game.

Can you say if it was in favour of the prosecution or the defence?

Same! So I take it BM’s defence can possibly last 5 day even though he only had the Plumber? I guess he’ll go through each baby but struggle to see how much he can say now in relation to his opening statement when a lot of that was squashed by LL tasking the stand. Will just have to see…

It's worrying- and I'm not making excuses - that she was able to conceal the pregnancy from her parents. Her father was terminally ill and receiving dialysis upstairs with the mother present while she gave birth downstairs. The PM revealed air in the lungs and the girl said something about a newborn's cry. Then there's the fact she left the body on the doorstep with no attempt to conceal it. It all seems desperate. It seems she wasn't getting the attention and parenting she needed and started having sex in order to be liked.
Having said that she should have sought help from somebody before it escalated to murder.
LL is a lot older with the attention of her parents, friends and colleagues, yet was planning and plotting and covering her actions, multiple times. She was not in a desperate situation But she should have sought help if she had murderous thoughts instead of giving in to them.

I agree with you re. her miserable life and lack of attention. It seems like a really terrible situation that she was in but I personally think she still knew right from wrong.

I wasn't trying to say that this young girl is anything like Letby, I was just drawing the comparison between their actions to show that I believe she committed premeditated murder, the young girl beat the poor baby and could have stopped after that, but to ensure he died she went further with the cotton to kill him so that becomes murder in my eyes. The news articles say that this baby could have been alive for a couple of hours. If that's the case then it's even worse in my eyes, she had the chance to do the right thing and instead chose to get rid of him.

Please don't get me wrong, I think Letby is a whole other kettle of fish, she's an evil sadistic serial murderer who doesn't deserve the chance at rehabilitation or a life outside of prison.

I'm sure their differences with be reflected in their sentencing.
