There was a poster who was asking whether she used the handover sheets to look up parents. Can't remember the poster but you were 100% correct.

Also, many of us were questioning why she looked up some parents in succession, like what connected them in her mind. BNE has asked the same question. Interesting response - that means she always knew which babies were dead/unwell - but thing is at the time they weren't considered to have been unwell (not until after the review) and LL herself told colleagues she didn't think anything odd or unusual was happening in the ward.....

Mr Johnson turns to the Facebook searches Letby made for parents of children in the indictment. Three searches are made for parents in quick succession. Mr Johnson asks what the link is.

Letby: "They are babies that have died and been seriously unwell."

Letby is asked about another series of searches for three parents' names.

LL: "They are babies that had something significant to them and they were on my mind."

Letby is asked why she didn't give that answer to the police.

LL: "Because I couldn't recall why I had looked at some of them."

That was me, I read somewhere that her defense say that she searched for many parents not involved in this case. I couldn't understand how she could remember so many names but it would be easy if you have a bag full of paperwork under your bed with them on.
This will be why op hummingbird is still ongoing and recently expanded to review the medical notes of every baby on every one of those sheets that she had.
The thought that there could be more victims is horrifying

I believe the childs dad, why would he make up the phone call. Why on gods earth would you want your childs name associated with any of this bullshit. You just wouldn’t, you’d want correct justice for your baby and making up stories to join the HUGE conspiracy theory is just ridiculous.

She was saying her knowledge of pancuronium (paralysing agent used to stop a baby tiring itself by fighting the ventilator) was poor yesterday. It seemed really odd to me at the time since she should have known how long it takes to work since she was the person giving it.

There’s something to do with that, I’m sure of it. She’s made a note to say there’s no policy in these notes

She has literally just done an observation on baby Q. Presumably he was well enough for her to walk out that room then. So how could they possibly then, in mere moments, be filled with so much air and “mucus” that they have a deterioration that led to brain damage.

Tbh it's much better for him to admit his team made a mistake (even if they didn't) than piss off his client and risk this going to an appeal if she's found NG. Or it going to mistrial/lawyer change if she thinks she's not getting a fair trial. It will be hard for him to maintain that she didn't tell them this - as how would you prove it wasn't said in a convo. I absolutely believe she never disputed it UNTIL she realised the prosecution were creating a motive around parents being away.

So we’ve learned she’s first person to mention air embolism in relation to these babies. Yeah that isn’t the best look now is it? I find LLs use of the word “accidental” in her reporting of the bung most interesting though. Like yeah obviously the air embolism would be accidental… seems odd to specify

I don't think he would - not sure ow much she can speak/communicate her annoyance to the team - but if she's kicked off about it/the cross exam and one of the defence team have admitted that she may - at some point, in perhaps a passing comment? - have mentioned that she didn't agree with the phonecall evidence, and they haven't pursued that - perhaps they've been backed into it?

And he's admitted mistake now to ensure a retrial is avoided, as he's doubting (or has always doubted) her innocence and so he's defending her in the way of ensuring she has a fair trial, not so she walks free (bit like one of his previous horrendous cases, Jordan Monaghan?)

Letby's defence, Ben Myers KC, says it was a "mistake" that this evidence was agreed before the court, but says it was a legitimate line of questioning for Nick Johnson KC to have taken.

Again, perhaps so it's agreed by defence that this was a legitimate line of questioning and so avoids her being able to bring it up for appeal grounds? Hope that all makes sense!

Exactly what I was thinking - he will not want this to be ground for an appeal, and better to be conservative and assume a mistake was made that can be admitted to and not impact her case. It's a technicality now anyway that she has already disputed it on the stand.

The jury will be able to see however that she did NOT dispute it previously when the father's statement was read out in court - and she didn't dispute it when BM was questioning her around it. So they can tell she's only just changed her story... I actually think she's given herself away here as being highly manipulative.

There are no coincidences in my opinion. That program, the course she’d just done, the book on her bedside about baby death, the house looking on to the cemetery.
