I’ve got an exam next week. I need to spend all week whilst my son is at school revising. I’m screwed though with LL on the stand and all the Schofield stuff going on this week!

And annoyingly if it wasn’t for the exam I would have been able to go back to court this week

What is the role of the police at court? What are they typing on their laptops?
I didn't know the police attended court except when they give evidence.

I don’t know for sure but I think it’s probably operation hummingbird. From what we’ve seen with job ads it’s still an ongoing live investigation so I’m wondering if they are observing her responses to help with the rest of the investigation. I wonder if they have been there all the time or just for Lucy’s testimony.

it was funny when I went as two of them had pads that said ‘investigators notepad’ on the front which kind of gave their game away

The nurse says she was first alerted to Child I desaturating either from an alarm sounding on the monitor or from Child I crying.

Nurse Hudson recalls: "Lucy was already with her [at the incubator], trying to settle her. At that time [Child I's] observations were normal."

She says child I was crying "the same cry I had heard her display the first time [that night].

"Loud and relentless and unlike any other cry I had heard make prior to this night shift."

"My initial concern was she was obviously breathing...my concern was the cry was that she was going to have another episode of collapse."

She recalls articulating that concern to Lucy Letby within 60 seconds of being there.

The nurse says she said words along the lines of: "She's going to do it again, it's the same cry."

Letby responded with words of "reassurance": "She just needs to settle," Ashleigh Hudson recalls Letby saying.

Child I became quiet, with pauses in breathing, and she became bradycardiac and her saturations "started to drift".

Oxygen delivery began again, along with ventilation breaths. They shouted for help from colleagues.

At 1.06am, Child I deteriorated once more.

Ms Hudson said she was alerted either via an alarm or Child I crying.

Mr Myers said once she entered, Lucy Letby was trying to settle Child I with a dummy. "Was this, in effect a repeat of what had gone on earlier?"

"Yes."

"You said you were concerned there was going to be a repeat...and Lucy Letby was trying to reassure you...she was going to be all right?"

"Yes."

Mr Myers refers to the family communication note, in which it was discussed with parents for Child I to be bathed, to make hand and foot prints, have photographs and gave consent for hair to be cut, and kept in the memory box.

Ms Hudson said this was the first time she had been involved with this bereavement procedure, and Lucy Letby assisted, before colleague Caroline Oakley later took over and completed the procedure.

He asks if she was involved in the efforts to assist Child I after 1.06am. She confirms she did.

She recalls going to see Child I at one point, and helping nurse Ashleigh Hudson settle her, but does not recall at what point that was.

She recalls being present when Child I died, and recalls the parents being there.

She says it was the first time Ashleigh Hudson had experienced a loss as designated nurse, and Letby says she assisted her in the bereavement procedure for the parents.

This reminds me of Savannah Brockhill, who in evidence said Frankie was already in the room when Star collapsed. But the call to 999 has Savannah saying to the operator that star collapsed and ‘I called mum in’, Frankie wasn’t actually in the room when Star collapsed.
Something so small but very incriminating. Feels the same here.

I am not entirely sure what he meant by that but it sounded great. And exactly why was that considered out of line? In our courts things get more rough than that, I believe.

Oh it's the height of sarcasm, he predicted what she was going to say, the bullshit that was being spouted and basically eye rolled with words.


So a bit like 'you really want to go there?' in the US.


Also @pissedandsad we're British, we don't go in rough, we end court sessions when the poor little serial killer is feeling tired and we make sure she gets a wickle (little) break every hour. There's probably some fucker under the desk massaging her feet

Mr Johnson says Letby had not been questioned about Child F and Child L in 2018, but was questioned about it in the following interviews. In it, Letby asked police about the nutrition bags said to have had insulin in.
NJ: "You knew very well the bags wouldn't have been kept, didn't you?"
LL: "No."
Letby had said to police if there had been concerns over the bags, they would have been kept.
NJ: "You knew no concern had been expressed, didn't you?"
LL: "I didn't know no concern had been expressed at the time of this interview, no."
Police had asked why Letby had asked about the nutrition bags.
Letby had said to police there may "have been an issue with something else."
Letby tells the court the issue may have been insulin coming from outside the unit. She says at that point it was not known where the insulin had come from, and it was not known if it was in the bags.


This feels huge too. She asked about insulin in bags before police put it to her in intwerview

Its not 100% guaranteed today my little swan, a juror is having her nails done this morning and she might fancy her toes done or a minge wax....then of course she's gonna bob to Costa.....I'd leave it.

Was there yesterday, the people in court 8 (viewers) sniggered and gasped a little bit at this point. Lucy seemed entirely unfazed.

LL apparently did bereavement checklist duties for Baby A, Baby C (who she had to be pulled out from), Baby E (bathed him and dressed him), Child I (assisted AH), and Child O (took pictures of him with his brother).

Only children who died in this case that she didn't were Baby D, Child K (who died in Arrowe), and Child P (made the 'not getting out of here alive' comment just before his death).

It's hard reading this morning, but at least she is more and more convincing people of her guilt.

I'm also more and more convinced there is a lot more babies involved in her wickedness.

I think the FB searches will be her undoing after all. How can she claim to not recall certain babies and deny her involvement with them but has been FB searching their parents a year or so down the line?

If I was on that jury, it would be the inconsistencies of her own statements that would swing it for me. In one breath she says she's got a great memory, is good with names. But then can't remember the babies, can't remember the parents, can't recall what she was doing at those times. But can recall the information enough to keep their handover notes, search the parents obsessively on facebook, send them cards?

She couldn’t remember “this baby” at all in her police interview (how this fits in with her “it never leaves you” narrative I don’t know) and yet she remembers details now? Like she’d assessed the baby as being hungry and rooting when the other nurse says it was this awful crying she had been making earlier. I remember from the wiki AH was so scared it meant baby was going to collapse again because it was the same horrible cry and letby said no she’ll settle and within a short time baby was dead.

I have had a couple stomach surgeries & often have gastric distress. Real gas pains feel like being stabbed deep inside & standing on my head is about the only way to relieve them. I can’t really stand on my head - more a downward dog thing with rocking i do and anti-gas pills you buy over the counter here. Anyway, it is horrible & I can just imagine what these little ones felt with the inflated abdomens. I am positive it was horrendous screaming they did. Hateful, scheming bitch deserves torturing!

Hopefully you will get your cast or arm glove thingie asap and some good meds to kill the pain, then arm up for the foreseeable. Keep us posted!!

Verdict in, I have a small fracture where I broke it before don’t need a cast though at the moment been given a splint to wear for now. Feels much better with a splint on! Got to go back in ten days to check healing they said if it’s still really hurting then they will cast it. Fingers crossed I can keep the splint

I think this will be a big point in NJ's closing statement. He has asked her about having a good memory a number of times so I think he will say she was reiterated numerous times what a great memory she has but also conveniently cannot recall anything that places her in a position of wrongdoing, can't remember some of these babies but was able to search Facebook for their parents months and years down the line.
