I mean the poster sounds credible but how is this the first we've heard if it? What would they gain from lying about it?

Hoping there will be no more delays and they boot that jury member if it's the same one the whole time.
For the remainder of the trial? I dunno do they do that in the UK at all, is that more an American thing? Anyone know?

This is definitely more of an American thing and even there it's happening less due to being really expensive and the impact it could potentially have on jurors. It doesn't happen in England and I doubt it would for a trial of this length either.
Thanks. I was just watching an Australian drama where the jury were sequestered for the deliberation process and it made me wonder if this is something that could happen over here/ in real life.
It only really happens in the US these days if avoiding information/opinions about the case would be next to impossible. Even in the trial of Derek Chauvin (the police officer who killed George Floyd), the jury were allowed to go home at night, albeit escorted out the building with very strict instructions not to do their own research at home. They were also fully monitored at all times in court. They were fully sequestered when they deliberated though.

This is a really interesting question- any legal minds able to let us know whether she'd have to take the stand again? Fingers crossed it doesn't reach the mistrial stage
